Abandoned Baby Buck gets Attacked by Eagles
Two eagles try to catch a baby buck when its herd abandons it for not fitting in because of a deformity.

Tony Ferri, a nature enthusiast fortunate enough to witness the sad sequence of events unfold, shared it with LatestSightings.com.
"On a calm morning in the Kgalagadi, my eyes caught sight of a herd of springbok. In the herd of springbok, a newborn lamb struggled to stand, burdened by a deformity. It was both beautiful and sad at the same time. The herd tried endlessly to help the little one stand, but had no success."
"The herd gathered around the lamb for over 30 minutes; they showed incredible patience and determination, nudging and encouraging the little one. However, despite their efforts, it became clear that the herd needed to make a difficult decision. Reluctantly, they began leaving one by one."
Springbok herds stick together and rely on unity to thrive. These antelopes form strong social groups that help them overcome challenges. They communicate and stay close, working as a team to find food and water and avoid predators. Their coordinated actions and constant vigilance demonstrate the power of unity in overcoming obstacles and ensuring their collective survival.
"A tawny eagle, scanning the surroundings, spotted the vulnerable lamb. Recognizing an opportunity for an easy meal, the eagle swooped down in the blink of an eye. The eagle looked at the lamb closely. I watched in awe as the eagle carefully assessed the situation, fully aware of the potential risk."
Tawny eagles are skilled hunters that seize any opportunity for a meal. With their sharp eyesight and quick decision-making, they can take advantage of vulnerable or unguarded prey. Whether it's a weak animal or a newborn left behind, these eagles have the instincts and agility to make the most of any chance they get. Their adaptability and focus make them successful predators.
"While one eagle watched the buck try to escape a second eagle swooped in sealing its fate. The lamb was obviously too small and weak to defend itself, and it soon became a meal. Its deformity in its legs only made matters harder for it, as the lamb was even more helpless in defending itself."

I’ve said before, and I’ll say it again… Death by bird must be one of the worst deaths. They just look so inefficient
In fact we call that “inefficiency” but birds of prey are super efficient in hunting. For them it is important to put their claws on the prey and then to eat it, alive or not it is the same for them. Hyenas and wild dogs do the same on the ground: killing the prey ripping it apart.
So inefficient and paiful. One pluck at a time.

The only thing more vulnerable than a deer in Africa is a baby deer in Africa
It's an antelope, not a deer.
@@mr.d00m37 and one born that can barely walk. It’s a perfect example of a reason why herds stay strong. Hunters first focus on the sick, the slow or the old, and any other animal showing any kind of weakness. Taking these animals out of the herd, keeps the rest of the herd strong and together.
There are no deer in Africa

Damn! I know it’s the circle of life and survival of the fittest, but that got me!😢 Poor baby just came into this world only to be abandoned and eaten alive. Nature is beautiful and brutal all at the same time.
*Your sentiment is understandable. Nature's unfiltered reality can be both beautiful and brutal. The cycle of life, while often harsh, is crucial to maintaining biodiversity and ecological balance. Each birth, struggle, and passing contributes to this intricate web. The baby's fate, though tragic, underscores the urgency of protecting and conserving natural habitats.*

It’s not fair 🥺🥺🥺
To get chowed alive seems surely painful, agony 😓
Nature is cruel!
Getting eaten alive is pretty much the default state of getting eaten. All animals evolved with it, that's why you get shock, loss of consciousness, floods of chemicals that help the animal (and the human) to die.
I think animals evolved to experience pain differently from human. As a human, you have the choice of whether you want to have children or not. If you don't want them to suffer like this then you can choose not to have children. Animals living in the wild see this all the time and they still choose to have children.
What about humans boiling lobsters alive?
If the Lobster must be alive when you boil it! If it's dead, it's no good; you will get sick if you eat it! Same for Crabs!
Wow poor baby buck.. May it's soul rip🥺🙏🏼
He definitely rested in pieces.
Animals have no soul either it's best heaven was its mother kissing it when it was born and when she realized it couldn't walk she abandoned it so it suffered hell on earth being eaten alive. I wonder how long it took the poor creature to die so it could stop feeling the pain of being ripped apart.
@kevinrivera78789 animals have no soul? Dude are you ok?
Only humans have souls not deer
@@BigBoss0804 Dude are u out of mind.. Every creature in this world have soul.. So does the deer do have
The baby was abandoned most likely due to hoof/ankle deformities on its back legs. You can see that it’s having difficulties just walking at a decent pace. Poor little guy.
Он так ходит после того, как его покалечил орëл
Annoys me when people say nature can be cruel sometimes. Nature is cruel 100% of the time.
Ummm nature is cruel sometimes, not all the time. When a mother is raising her young in the wild and nothing bad happens, is that cruel? No, it isn’t. If a panda is just munching on bamboo, is that cruel? No, it isn’t. Nature can be cruel, but 100% of the time is impossible, so why would it annoy you when people say something that is correct? Lol
@@coreybrooks3493 I see his point tho as the people that say it think that a baby getting eaten alive is a rare occurrence which it is not. It's not 100% always cruelty of course but it is most of the time

The person filming should of intervene . eventually that eagle would have look for something else but to film a helpless baby newborn getting rip apart like that is just disturbing.
@@carmencamacho2086 I love animals. but as heartbreaking as it seems, we must let nature run its course..unless its caught on a net or any manmade trap, humans can not intervene..the herd tried to help it, as the description said, but sadly driven by their instinct they had to move on...its nature's rule.
@@carmencamacho2086 When you are in safari, you need to follow two rules. 1) Never ever interfere with nature no matter what 2) Don't forget rule No. 1
@@angel91485that’s an odd take. Let ‘nature’ do its thing? Nature is not a living thing, it is a concept. So intervening would still help nature. Please stop selling this crap that nature is some alien thing humans observe.

That baby had tendon issues in its back hooves, that's probably why the mother left it.

*This scenario underlines the harsh realities of life in the wild, where survival is a constant struggle and the balance between predator and prey plays a crucial role*
Those who were shooting didn't have the courtesy to save the buck ? Shame
You're the only one who make sense.
I heard a crunching noise once while waiting for a bus. I looked over to see a falcon standing on a squirrel ripping it's spinal cord out. The next few days I saw him stalking another squirrel. Every time he was about to pounce I would take my long umbrella and get his attention. You can say "he needs to eat!" And I say so does the squirrel. I seriously feel bad for animals that don't stand a chance.

The eagle isn't "mean", it's just doing what it can to survive. Some animals have to die to feed others, that's just how it's meant to be. And unless you're vegan, you have absolutely no right to speak about denying an animal its meal just because you find one cuter than the other

Yep, that's how the animal world works. There's no mercy, just pure instinct and that drive for it to fullfill its desires no matter the cost to ensure survival.
Yup. Besides, antelopes eat their food the same way. It's not like the eagle has intent to cause pain or anything.

I'd have scooped up the baby buck and rescued it. I know. I know. Not supposed to. If it were a human attacked by the eagles, would you rescue the human? Then what's the difference with the buck?
The difference is that eagles don't actively go after humans unless you're either stupid enough to bother the hell out of one or irresponsible enough to leave your child unattended in the wild.
