  • I know in the vid you guys said you've tried a lot of different exhausts to test for interchangeability. Was wondering if the razor tip full exhaust from Toce was one of them and if it did fit on the 8r?

  • Like you mentioned, the ergos make it really attractive for those of us who can't really enjoy a traditional sport bike but want that style. It gives folks who want a sport bike but need something closer to naked bike ergos a great option.

    @Remymoto@Remymoto3 ай бұрын
    • Yes the stock ergos are more relaxed than traditional supersports. When building a race bike out of an OE machine all of the controls get replaced anyway so I think Suzuki made the right choice to just make the stock bike a bit more upright. Serves a larger demopgraphic and cuts cost of the stock machine. -BR

    • You perfectly stated how I feel about it. I'm young and all, but for the type of riding I do right now, I want the fun and looks of a sport bike with the comfort and ergonomics of a naked bike.

  • Bike responds really well to a tune and full exhaust, somebody noted +12 HP. Nice bump over the R7 gets you into RS660 territory + won't break like the RS660 lol

    • We've seen some pretty impressive numbers so far for this platform and are just getting started! We've seen 90+ with minimal modifications. A thinner head gasket, some race gas, and some internal components can bump this to the 100+ mark. - Mark

    • its funny that no one mentions torque on the MT07/R7 is still noticeably higher than all the bikes in this category, not just peak but across the entire rev range. Better than RS660, SV650, CBR650, Ninja 650... With the lower weight and suspension/chassis geometry you feel that higher torque more as well

You can accomplish the goal of test riding the bike, then take in Daytona 200 and the other MotoAmerica classes that will be racing. Check out Superscross, connect with a bunch of like minded people, and perhaps attend some motorcycle parties on Main St. Whatcha think? -BR

  • "Supersport". What does the GSX8R have to do with Supersport and why should it, it's not even trying or pretending to be one. It's a Sports bike, not Supersports, a description of road legal race bikes. It has a fairing so it has to rev to 16k rpm or it's not a true Supersports, well, thankfully it does not and it's not. And that's why it's going to sell like crazy, because most riders would love themselves a Sports bike they can ride fast and enjoy and not break either their neck or their back, instead of a crazed maniac that feels completely out of it's element unless it's going flat out on perfect roads at insane/suicidal speeds.

  • Just my opinion but Yamaha's MT-07 and CP2 engine are getting a bit long in the tooth, yet it doesn't seem like they're getting significantly updated anytime soon. Oh well, guess we're about to see a bunch of 8Rs trample over R7s, Suzuki bros are gonna love it.

I tend to like bikes less lound nowadays. When I do track days or races I now use earplugs. For me the Akra has a nice tone but I would like it a bit less loud. If you ask one of those guys that want all eyes on them at all times you will probably hear that it's a bit quiet. Toce sent us a system of theirs for testing.
