It stimulates the nervous system and the body's natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being. It's been researched that acupuncture can help with back, neck or knee pain, etc.

      @CatDaddy.@CatDaddy.9 ай бұрын
    • @@xmayoburkexit definitely depends on the reason for getting it 😊 there are sort of acupuncture. The original traditional Chinese acupuncture which is what they were doing here, where they put the needles in one part of the body and it treats another. And then there's the more anatomical one which a physiotherapist might do(which I get for back pain from muscle spasms) this is where they but the needles deeper directly into the problem area which loosens the muscle and increases blood flow to help healing. Then with massage after I find it incredibly helpful! And on the whole, you can't feel them. Only every now and then can you maybe feel one in a tight muscle. It's very relaxing! I've even heard of a tens machine being added to needles in the second type but I haven't had it 😊

  • Its notoriously challenging to be a licensed acupuncturist in California. The regulations are stiff. We can support these practitioners and their habits, even if this an extreme demonstration for viewing purposes ☺️ For all concerned about sanitation, they do swab with 70% alcohol (standard medical practice) before inserting needles into the skin. Its probably just not shown on camera. You can see a clip of a swab when they did head points on a sound guy! Further, its up the the practitioner if they wear gloves since the risk of blood-borne pathogens is lower than other professions (but not impossible). If you wear gloves with one patient, you have to wear them with all patients. All needles are single use and come packaged in sterile wrappings. These are standardized and only can be purchased by licensed practitioners and students (in Canada anyways). Acupuncture is a 3-4 year program with biomedical sciences and eastern medicine components. Physios and other "medical acupuncturists" take continued education courses that are about 1/4-1/3 of the time of acupuncture programs. As always, continue to do your research! Find licensed professionals with qualified education. Each practitioner has a different vibe but all should be practicing based on their locations standards. A great resource is your state/provincial regulatory body for acupuncture; they are responsible for protecting the patients, not the practitioners.

I found a great chiropractor who fixed my neck and lifetime back issues. When I complained about the hand/forearm pain, he recommended acupuncture, which he was also certified in. It was painless but I would have a buzzing feeling after the session for several hours. Then the hair on that arm would stand straight up. The fourth session it felt like bees were stinging my whole hand. But after I managed to get some sleep, the feeling was gone and so was the pain. Permanently. Magic.

Maybe it was more placebo effect than her being better at it - I put much more stock in someone who understood and had practiced Western medicine saying they could help me than the kind of wishy-washy first one that talked about group acupuncture feeding off of each other's energy. Even with her, though, I just felt like I slept better after it. It didn't help with pain relief, but I was only in town for a few weeks. Maybe that just wasn't enough time. Sleeping better was definitely welcome, though!

  • My poor husband was watching this with me until he saw the needles. Then he freaked out& left. Now he's back & I'm telling on him. He's dying just watching via YT 😂. I get stuck all the time for health issues. I'm at the lab every 3 weeks, so it doesn't even phase me. Cool video. Love seeing these gorgeous ladies poke poor Zach. I may look into finding acupuncturists near me. I have tons of medical issues. I was just in the hospital last night. So this might be an avenue for me. Thanks, guys, for sharing this. I'm super curious now 😁👍💕

  • I like that there's a lot of discussion about the legitimacy of acupuncture in this comment section. While I think calling it fake or placebo is a bit unfair - researchers at Harvard Medical have found proof that it can help with inflammation, for example - it's good to remain skeptical about alternative medicines also, Zach says at the start of the video that he gets acupuncture regularly, so presumably it doesn't have any negative effects on him personally

    • I personally don't like how uncritical they were, they just let the acupuncturists say whatever. although acupuncture isn't itself harmful, pretending it's a miracle treatment definitely is

My favorite is getting the forehead needle like Kwesi and one in the top of my head. I can literally feel like electricity traveling between the points! So crazy. Also I love the needles in the ear. • I did acupuncture a few times a couple of years ago. It was mostly my back and scalp but I always got headaches before that and after a session my head hurt but it wasn’t a headache. It’s been like 2 years and I haven’t gotten a headache yet. My back always hurt for days after a session though. I think I have a sensitive back

  • Having felt related to Zach since the beginning (yee, I was team green before there were colors and it was buzzfeed and he was still typed into being the failing underdog - we both actually kinda thrived and did a full 180 in that sense too), but seeing him take the company more into -admittedly- 'his' direction/interests is TOP TIER. Hippie stoner voodoo-woodoo life is full of mystery and energy and fun and awe, with the actual production value and educational sense + expertise that the company brings, this is truly my favorite era of Try Guys and I didn't expect that. Missing Keith, and we all miss Eugene, but I'm content man and I hope yall are too.

  • I’ve had acupuncture a couple of times and I won’t ever have it again. I have fibromyalgia and was told that it may help with my symptoms. The last time I had it, I became very emotionally overwhelmed and begged the practitioner to take the needles out. I wasn’t in pain at all, but I couldn’t stop crying. I was literally sobbing like my heart was broken - it was so bizarre!!!!

  • I use to have a real problem with needles….. When I was a child, I had to go to the hospital for some reason(I would get sick a lot as a kid) While there they attempted to start an IV. After 13 tries, my mother told them to leave the room. I was a total mess crying and felt like I couldn’t breath because I was crying so hard. I was able to calm down and they were able to start the IV. However, this gave me a phobia that would haunt me well into my 20’s. I’m much calmer now and don’t break out in a sweat if I have to have a shot. I think that I’m going to avoid acupuncture for now though😉
