This is the fourth and final video In this short series showing the design and simple construction of a 1/6 Scale Wooden Bridge to provide a great feature for my large scale Armortek tanks to drive over.
In this video I paint the bridge, add some detailing and finally get to drive my tank over it.
Hope you enjoy.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed all those videos of your bridge build. I think if I had the time, space and money I would go for the classic Airfix Pontoon bridge and re-create those backyard battles from my youth... This particular build took me back to when my dad gave my brother and I our one and only holiday we had with him - Late 70's at Caister Holiday camp on the Norfolk coast, and in the camp was these remote control tanks which you put 10p in the slot and you got to drive an allotted vehicle for a period of time, no word of a lie, there was a bridge very similar to yours to guide you armour over - happy days. Looking forward to seeing this in the garden in situ and letting mother nature weather her up!

    • Thanks Martin...Thats why I built it...need to have some obstacles to put the Tiger and hopefully when finished the M26 through. I did post the plans and materials list in case anyone wanted to have a go at building it... I just dug the idea out from my memory bank and not sure where it came from but it worked out well. Hope you continue to follow me and in particular the M26 build..

  • I found your channel 2 weeks ago, I've watched all of your videos and have enjoyed them quite a lot. I live in the state of Iowa in the US. I started building models at the age of 5 years I will be 62 August of this year. I like the fact that you're as humble and appreciative of your viewers as it's refreshing and seems sincere. I'm looking forward to your next build. I'm currently working on a 1/16 M4A3E8 from AHHQ/Tacom. I also have their Tiger I early that I will be building next. Thank you for sharing your journey, it speaks greatly of your character.

    • Hi Michael and greetings from the UK. I am so glad that you found my channel and really appreciate your kind words. I love model building and have been building models and dioramas for years...The whole 1/6 scale is new to me, but loving the experience, especially with these full metal heavy tanks. I would have loved to build one of the Armortek M4 Shermans, but they sold out some time ago, that is why I am so excited about my build of the M26. I started this channel as I wanted to try and show how beginners and novice builders like me can complete these 1/6 scale kits without worrying about the after market enhancements and customising that advanced builders show on KZhead. The response has been amazing and somewhat humbling. Thank you for watching, commenting and supporting what I am trying to do. I hope you continue follow my next build. Have a great weekend.

  • First thing i thought as soon as i saw the Tank on the Bridge, the Bridge looks small now. It appears i wasn't the only one to think that? However, the Bridge appears to be typical of constructions made to cross Canals or small Streams which just happens to be strong enough to bare the weight of the Tiger. The finished product looks great.

  • I will be happy to upload the video soon. I thought it would be nice to have the natural weathering of the trees outdoors, but that kind of bridge doesn't actually exist, right? It was fun to see the addition of handrails, ladders, sandbags and decorations. 直ぐに動画をアップで私は嬉しいです。屋外での木の自然風化もいいと思ていましたが、そんな橋は実在しないですね? 手摺や梯子そして土嚢と装飾が増えるのが見ていてたのしいです。

  • Hi Tony… another great video .. very impressed with your carpentry skills.. the bridge is great.. good luck with building the Pershing.. debated whether to mention the problem I had with torsion bars 🙈.. the axles go through the bogies ok BUT the problem is with the torsion rods seizing in the opposite ends where they lock into the bogey housing… I reckon they are cut to length with a guillotine which spreads the diameter of the rod… lots of filing to round off the end of the rod cured the problem.. please tell me to hush up with my problems if you want to progress unmolested or we maybe open a”tips and hints” channel just for you and me 🤷‍♂️.. Regards… Brian

The figures are Dragon figures, but get these as used unboxed ones as they are cheaper. A company called Armorpax www.armorpax.net/ Contact Dave as he sells all the aftermarket accessories such as the MG Cupola and so much more...The MG34 is also from Dragon. For the markings, try these guys..it is where I got mine from: www.ebay.co.uk/str/peddinghausdecals Alternatively, I have found a great stencil guy who has made stencils for my M26...He does a lot of US 1/6 scale but may be able to help...Contact Paul from: www.ebay.co.uk/usr/noostadirect_dot_com Hope this helps and if you get stuck on the Tiger, please feel free to give me a shout. • Nicely done Tony. Looks like you are having fun! I am making progress on theM26 but ran into a couple issues. One very minor thing is attaching the small side brackets that attach the two side panels together, the screws are bit short (M4 x 20). But the bigger issue is on the smaller of the two side panels, the three vertical screw holes are not threaded - just blank holes. I bought a M4 tap to fix that, and I hope it works. I did put a note on the M26 section on the forum for more details. Wondering if you ran into the same problem.

    @raymassa3751@raymassa3751 Жыл бұрын
    • Hi Ray. Thank you. i Got stuck into the M26 build today and yes, I had the exact same problem. There is another M26 builder on here who also had the same problem. I am lucky that I have a tap set and got round this problem. Tap the holes with the M4 tap and this solves it. The bracket that holds the front and rear hull panels did not cause me a problem, I fixed them flat side to the inside. The only issue I had was that the casting on the front section of the hull had to be filed flat on the inside to allow the bracket to sit tight to the metal. I am really enjoying the build and now looking at prep, prime and painting the hull. Sounds like you are progressing well. If I encounter any other issues, I will let you know and please do the same...we are all learning this together. Have a great weekend.

      @tonys_workshop@tonys_workshop Жыл бұрын
    • @@tonys_workshop Thanks for the reply. As I mentioned on the forum regarding the bracket. If you look at the pictures, they show to install with the ridges against the hull. Probably does not make a difference, but the screws are too short mounting it like the pictures, so I just used longer screws. And yes, I already tapped the holes myself, and all is good there. Just starting the suspension arms today. Lots to go, no rush.

    • @@tonys_workshop Tony, one more question for you on the M26. On the suspension arms, did you find that they were not all on the same horizontal plane using the default flat spots on the torsion bars? Mine were very close, but I just applied a bit of up or down pressure and they are very close, EXCEPT for the front multi-link one. That is off enough that may need the flats filled a bit to get it sitting in line with the others. I am assuming that it should be exactly in line with the others -maybe not?.One of the other users on the forum filed the flats on several torsion bars. Just wondering how it went with yours. Thanks

  • Hi Tony, have loved watching this build mate, looking to undertake my own shortly. I was just wondering, is there any reason why you haven't built a early/mid war tiger to suit the Tunisian battle era? I was just under the impression all late tigers had zimmerit? And the north African saga was over in May '43. Just curious. Cheers, Tom.

    @CandASquad@CandASquad9 ай бұрын
    • Hi Tom and thanks for watching & commenting. No reason other than when I was building this, I kept changing my mind and was on the understanding that all late tigers were factory finished in Dunkelgelb. So, I decided to stick with that. At the time the only markings I could get hold off were used on my tank. I didn't want to cover up some of the fixings with zimmerit in case I ever needed to get to them. Turns out I don't, but too late now. The great thing about these kits you can finish them in what ever colour scheme you choose. Enjoy your build when you get started...it is so satisfying.

    • Hi and thank you for watching and commenting. They are expensive and it took me nearly 10 years to summon up the funds and courage to start this incredible hobby. Painting is in stages, part by part, each part being cleaned prepped, etched primed, primed and top coat painting..The painting takes a long time, but spread out across the build.
