  • Super helpful video. Watched your previous one on the ESR & Spigen, I sware by Spigen and they are my go too brand but I think this one away it more for me. Used Mophie in the past great products. My girlfriend recently got her iPhone 14 pro and wants to use with a non MagSafe case so this is perfect- thanks Chris! 👍🏻

  • Did the ring stay attached to the back of the Aramid cover Case? I read that it has to be a thin plastic case or it won't hold on to the back of the case. Also if it doesn't stay on the case could u use alittle superglue on it? I have the Samsung aramid case and want to know if i need glue or not.

  • Since you have two of them could you measure the thickness of the MagSafe magnet to see if it’s thicker than the later-case please 🙏

    @sllick@sllick Жыл бұрын
  • I'm interested in whether or not you could put one of these between the layers of a two layer case, an otterbox commuter for example. Are any of these rings thin enough to do this yet strong enough to still hold? Would be interesting to test.

    @joshuapugsley@joshuapugsley Жыл бұрын
    • Very unlikely, and the wireless charging wouldnt be able to go through the thickness of that kind of case. My authority on this is that ive played with magnets a lot

  • Got one of these and the downside is that with this on a plastic case for my iPhone se - I can no longer charge my phone reliably on wireless charge pads (for example the one from IKEA) - the charge light will turn on but the distance it too far so it basically seems to give up after a while.

  • Are there any rings that you can put on the inside of a case so that it doesn’t have the appearance on the outside of the case but you could still use mag safe accessories? Or is everything just for outside. I have a Lohasic case that has nice material on outside that looks good when I don’t have MagSafe on it but it’s not strong enough for the MagSafe wallet or battery

    @dannigro8794@dannigro87942 жыл бұрын
    • Are you using an iPhone or another phone? If your phone is already MagSafe, I don't think adding the ring to the inside will increase the magnetic strength, but if your phone is not Magsafe out of the box, then applying the ring to the back of your phone would help. Thanks for watching!

  • Question: I have a DIY project I'm hoping trying to pull off. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Plus, so it has MagSafe on the back already. I don't use a case. However, at work (I serve tables), I use a server sleeve/pad. I'm attempting to replace the paper pad with my iPhone. So I was going to tuck one of these (or glue) rings on the inside pouch of the server sleeve so that when I put my phone where the paper usually sits, it would actually stick to my sleeve because of the magnet I've glued on the inside of the sleeve. Hard to explain... not sure if you follow haha. In short, would I be able to use these rings as makeshift magnets? Or do they not work that way?

    @cooperbibaud@cooperbibaud Жыл бұрын
    • Cooper, thx for asking, so they do connect magnetically to your phone. I’m not sure how much jumbling would occur in what you outlined and if they could handle that, but as long as you are a little careful I think it could work. I would go with the rings made by Mophie as the rings are magnetic themselves so you’ll get a stronger hold.

    • @@thechristaft thank you. I've read elsewhere that morphie ring is sharp to the touch. Did you find it sharp? And if it is, could it be placed on the inside of the case to overcome the issue of sharpness?

      @RBNMAN@RBNMAN Жыл бұрын
    • There are some sharp edges, I wouldn’t recommend inside the case as I think it is too thick. The Spigen ring was the thinnest and least sharp ring that I tried. And the hold was strong enough if you want to go that route.

      @michaelwills7581@michaelwills7581 Жыл бұрын
    • I have not noticed any issues with my phone, but I can't definitively say it's not possible. I will say in a non-scientific manor that it's the metal ring interacting with the charging coil, not directly with your battery. I believe phones have built in safety measures to control charging levels coming from the coil. If I find more information I'll share it.

    @matteobacci2432@matteobacci24322 жыл бұрын
    • I am not familiar with sinjimoru, but will say the Spigen rings have a very strong adhesive. In terms of strength of field, the Spigen ring is metallic, not magnetic, so it's more dependent on the accessory's magnetic strength. The Mophie ring is magnetic so would have a stronger hold.
