OLD MONEY. Brooklyn Baby (Lou Reed was supposed to sing with her, but he died ! So the producer (one of The Black Keys band members) sang it with her instead. Lana is very 60s and 70s oriented... You got it !!! I don't know how much you know about Lana... but she has been sober since she was a teen (except marijuana). She was from a very upscale area and a teenage Catholic schoolgirl who was a total alcoholic... went to rehab. Went to Fordham... dropped out. Went to NYC and NJ and was a drug counselor for runaway teens. Is a Bruce Springsteen fanatic. And a Jim Morrison fanatic... a lot of Lana is a creation... she's been there, done that, and she writes for people going through it. In some ways it seems glamorous, and a lot of younger females don't seem to hear the sadness... or they think it's just always gonna be that way... I love this album, and Lana... but I think she knows a lot about music that most people don't... she knows who Nancy Sinatra and Dusty Springfield were !!! Love your reviews, you are always honest about how it's hitting you !!!

I personally like ultraviolence more than born to die. I like the dark vibe too it and there are so many songs i LOVE like Ultraviolence, Shades of cool, West coast, Sad girl and Pretty when you cry. My second favorite album would have to be honeymoon it is Beautiful.

Honeymoon is my fav
Ciaran honeymoon is my least favourite. I love music to watch boys to and art deco, i like Terrence loves you and high at the beach but that's it
David Turner could you not feel the emotion the blackest day? There's something about honeymoon that's so cinematic and emotional. Religion and freak are masterpieces in terms of instrumentals. The whole album just creates such an ambience that you get lost in.
Alexis Marshall I think the album is just very samey to me and so i wouldn't never play the album. I like freak but the blackest day doesn't so much for me
Ultraviolence is just more mature then BTD I think they focus on Lana's voice more

Ultraviolence isnt only her best album its one of the best Albums ive ever heard in my life.
I remember when Ultraviolence came out I was a little let down because I was so obsessed with the sound of BTD when it came out that I expected a continuation of that. Now, I consider Ultraviolence to be her most beautiful album to date. Her magnum opus. She'll never be able to top it. Ever. Ultraviolence >>>> Born To Die >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Paradise > Honeymoon
The Sugar Venom Musically, Honeymoon is absolutely her best album. IMO it's the only one where I can see her whole vintage image working.
The Sugar Venom Honeymoon > Ultraviolence > Lust for life > Paradise > Born to die
The Sugar Venom honeymoon is an actual masterpiece, but tbh I like them all in different ways. They all have different sounds and vibes
I felt this exact same way when it first came out. I was dissapointed in the snippets but when me and my friends fully got into the Album we now think it’s her BEST album
Ultraviolence is indeed her best album imo, but Honeymoon is definitely her second best, then Paradise, then Born To Die and then Lust For Life, but I LOVE all of them, they're all great, it's just that LFL is less great and Ultraviolence is the greatest.
I love Ultraviolence. Sends me on such a trip. Cruel World takes me to another dimension.

So far Shades of cool is my favorite song 😢😭😢 It makes me feel like I'm flying all alone in the world.
Watching these types of videos make me feel like i'm listening to Lana for the first time all over again
"Is Lana like a coke head or something?!" I died HAHA. Not really 😂 she uses drugs a lot metaphorically to convey her message more effectively lol
LANA DEL SLAY She was an alcoholic at age 15, so I wouldn't be surprised at some point if there was another addiction
Yeah, I wouldn't put it far past her either haha, wouldn't be surprised either. But she's been sober for a while now
Eddie Bannayan she used to try many different drugs in her early years but now she's definetly clean as u said
I think the use of drug references is also a reference to her appreciation of the 1950's/1960's era and the famous people who she references in her songs and who she looks up to in real life.
Yeah. "Metaphorically". Lol
Yas girllllll YOU'RE LISTENING TO GOD

YOU MADE MY DAY THANK YOU FOR THIS
this album is just art, the lyrical content is so dark but beautiful, the instrumentals are so beautiful and vintage inspired, i love lana and this album so much.
I would sell my soul to listen to this album for the first time again. It’s my favorite album of all time.
This is my favorite lana album. Loved your reactions, i'm suscribing!
