I finally pulled the trigger on a 200 Series Land Cruiser. I'd considered all three sub-generations of the 200, and may regret not holding out for a 2016+, but what I like about the 2008-2011 Land Cruiser is that it doesn't have tinted windows, it doesn't have any chrome or cladding on its doors, and it came in a non-metallic gloss white. I may have overpaid slightly for this one, but it stood out to me for being a well-maintained, two-owner New Orleans truck with some very tasteful, professionally installed modifications. And it was for sale within 40 minutes of where I live.

Owned the 200 series for 8 years. Very reliable and durable machine, never had any trouble. Wish you all the best from Pakistan
Yup my friends father owns 1 2008.still is a beast

This guy is no dummy, he got the best vehicle evermade, no correction he got 2 of them.
My grandkids will probably see a video of this same LC 30 years from now.
No doubt about that...
I like how he has a calm tone, knows what he’s talking about, very professional, classical in a way
That is one sweet ride! I love that model of the LC. Thanks for sharing - I've never personally seen one of these up close. I love how it isn't too big or too small, and it just has a great design. The newer models are just not designed as well (IMO) and resemble space craft from another planet. The third row seats is are a nice bonus - sure, you can take them out, but it's a plus that you have the option in case you need to carry additional passengers. This is a classic (esp w/ the LC being discontinued - for now anyway) - keep it forever.
Well said - the 200 Series Land Cruiser is no longer than the 2021 Highlander!
Can't wait to see what you do with it!!! Great find!
Thats a really clean spec LC200. And this is a compliment coming from middle east where the LC is the most popular and most modified vehicle here. Seeing yours makes me wanna get one. Take good care of it buddy!
Amazing truck! I got a 2011 Sequoia ...very underrated (built like a damn tank) and a great choice for those who can't stretch to the LC.
I purchased a 1993 Toyota Land cruiser series 80 in 2007 and owned it until 2016, I miss that suv so much ! When I sold it the speedometer read 523,000 km and it never missed a step ! This is in the extreme arctic I’m talkin, where there is minimal maintenance and the temperature averages -35 average . I hear to this day she still runs strong and starts first crank in the dead of winter !
Thanks for the model breakdown. Didnt know there where so many variants. Love white SUV's.
Beautiful! I have their FJ Cruiser and absolutely love it. I went and looked at the 2021 200 series and left a bit of drool on the steering wheel. Absolutely amazing vehicle!
Hey Man ..Truly Enjoyed your tour . I could tell by the way you talk , you’re a like able, real Lad . Have fun with it and cheers my friend ..
The trd wheels look like they were made for that. No steelies!
Congrats Chris! Greatest automobile ever made. I bought a 2014 against my wife's wishes, I have never regretted it. I hope you love yours as much as I love mine.
So did I 😂😂
@@franksfactorynonsens me too
Awesome! Definitely the year I’m looking for. Had more power. Also could you make a video of the 3rd seat removal. I have not seen any of 200 series seat removal. Thank you!!
I agree with your steelie rim choice, my uncle has a gray/dubai market VX Variant (base model) of the 2009 land cruiser 200 it looks good on those steelies and he also paired it w KO2's, the only modification he did on the LC. The VX is very utilitarian if you ask me gray interior, basic comforts and unpainted door handles look real good on the LC200
Our 100 series has around 315k miles and I love it! These beasts are truly amazing.
I work overseas and we have a fleet of 2010-2011 200 series that have been "up armored" and have the Turbo-Diesel V8. Even with the additional weight of the armor they rip!
The armored one I drove broke down on me with the principal in it lol.
Imo this first iteration of the 200 series looks best due to the simplest, cleanest design. Congrats on the purchase.
Hey. What’s the part that you purchased which corrects the mirror flutter? I’m hopeful this can work on the LX570.
Well chosen. Looks like a great example. One thing is for sure, that thing will keep on going, and going, and going.
Congrats for your new land cruiser, it's similar to mine
Great find. Such a good truck and perfect build.
D
Love the steel wheel idea! Gives it a very utilitarian look. In a world where everything had 20” rims l, why not be different
absolute dream car. great vid, thanks!
Great! Another video making me wish I had one!
Had a 2013 LC for the last 2 years... Have no plans on ever getting rid of it. It's a beast on rainy roads, snowy mountains and everything in between.
One more thing, your land cruiser is fricking beautiful! Well done.
Wow. Way to go. Manifested your very own 200 series. 👌
Great Video. I have just got a 2010 in the super white with the 4.5 V8 diesel. First LC. Love it.
Chris, excellent review and explanation. I just bought a 2000 LC. Great condition and well maintained. I am slowly getting some maintenance done by a Master Toyota mechanic and then hopefully some tasteful yet functional upgrades i.e. my rims need to be powder coated again, tires are good. Suspension can use some help etc. etc. Any good websites you can recommend for updating LC? I don't mind spending smartly if it is worth it. Cheers
Great looking purchase and great spec! Early 200s are better for sure - less electronics the better. Go for the steelies and ditch the stickers.
Awesome video as always!!!
Will probably hold it’s value very well
Very clean. Tasteful mods. Nice ride!
Hi Chris , very nice car . I have exactly the same (2010 , Diesel, 190000 km) here in Panama. I did a complete automatic gearbox oil and filter change when I bought the car.( Be careful the gear box need original Toyota oil!!) and it is shifting like new now. Also changed the dust covers complete for the front drive shaft and installed spacers to extend the wheel distance. Looks much better. My best Landcruiser so far ! I had a 80, 2 x 100 and now the 200, all diesels! The 80 was also a very sturdy car , tropical version (two tanks and two A/Cs) built in the Toyota plant in Venezuela in 1998. Very happy not to have the shitty hydraulic suspension like the Lexus and the one in my old 100 in this 200.
Steller video! I remember selling the first LC200 in Plano Texas back in 2008. It was Amazon Green with the tan interior. When I sat in it I said to myself I will own this exact LC one day. I've now found my unicorn just like it with 193k going for 27.5k!! All the big fixes have been done. Looks like it's time to get out of my Tundra and go have some fun!
I have a 2012 200 in Australia.. we have the 4.5 v8 twin turbo diesel 200kw / 650nm torque stock (ours is tuned to over 900nm torque) fully kitted out with all the arb front rear side gear, gvm upgrade, 300L long range tank list goes on n on 360,000km now .. goes like a freight train and absolutely love it after all these years. I am currently in the process of fitted up the facelift front and rear ends ;)
That popping from the door is the check strap. They tend to make that sound after they get old and weaken over time.
I have the same door sound on a Tundra.
Yea you just tighten with a socket wrench, on the tundra I think it’s 10mm.
I have the same door sound lc 200
Nice. I'm on my 3rd. Best SUV's ever. Period. Had a 99, 2007 and now 2013. No rust is key. I live in NJ and bought my last one in FL from original owner. Keep you're sunroof drain plugs clear. One negative to the 08-11 is there are a few key electrical connections very low in the kickboards, later years moved those connectors further up. Good luck - wish I still had my 08. I plan to keep my 13 for a very very long time.
There you have it!!! A legend... Hold on tight to her pal.....she's a keeper.
This video directly led to me buying a White 2008 LC. Thank you very much haha
love the tasteful upgrades!
Congrats!! Bought a white 09 with grey interior, 170k miles for 19 grand. Was worried about the mileage at first but drives better than most new cars and trucks I been in. Love it
Where you get so lucky, I'm in California there's only one within 500 Miles for 25k with 230k mileage 😂
Dude you are awesome mine also have the 6cd changer bluetooth found it out litterally after testing it because of this video . Never knew it existed on mine
Thats a really good looking LC. My wife wants a sequoia but I'd love to get her a LC.
Please do. She won't regret. A manual if she's comfortable with it
Sequoia is like a Land Cruiser, but built in America instead of Japan, less capale off road, and looks worse
I’ve got a 200 series LX570 and a neighbor has a Sequoia Platinum, my advice would be to drive them both and see what would be best for your circumstances. Seq feels floaty, LC is limited on space if you have a ton of crap. Ignore high miles on a 200 with good service history.
@@luka_abh Do you really need to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro to get to Starbucks?
@@davidkaminski615 Exactly this! I've got a Sequoia ... same powertrain as the LC and built on the same platform as one of the best built trucks around. You just cannot go wrong. Don't get me wrong, the LC is phenominal - we all know that - but the Sequoia deserves way more respect than it gets and it's more than capable enough for most folks.
You bought a bad ass ride. That will NEVER die
I have a 2004 LC with over 215K on the clock - love it to bits, so comfortable and feels like an old friend 🇬🇧🦆💕
Congrats!! Nice get! Thanks for going over slight differences in the 200s... Damn now I want a 200 even more, thanks for that haha
Nice ride, man!
2:33 That's the law of attraction
spot on!
Wouldn't it be fantastic to see you and your LC's put in action? Real LC stuff.
Congrats on the pick up. I was able to find a 2013 white LC locally with under 130k for 34k and immediately sold my TRD Pro 4runner. My wife was initially hesitant about it, but she tries to steal it whenever she can. I picked mine up with a warranty (from the dealership) and it came with the TRD Tundra wheels and some Falken Wildpeaks. Super happy with it. I’m a KISS type guy so I have no intentions to add a bunch of stuff - it’s capable as is and it’s my daily. Have fun with it!
What was the engine?

Nice rig mate nice and clean, I can't wait to upgrade my 105 series to that exact model. Good find and what are the chances that its the one u took a pic of. It was meant to be. Would definetly recommend ceramic coating did it to mine effortless cleaning and looks so much better. Cant wait to see where it goes 🤘
Thanks! A 105 would be very cool, though I never felt limited by my 100. I'll investigate ceramic coating further. The winter weather in my region right now is making any attempt to keep a car clean right now a futile effort.
Great buy. I will get one of these one day, been saving money since 2018...
I own the 2009 model.. no complaints whatsoever.. still running smoothly..
He can buy 3 of them as compared to prices in our country 🇵🇰
Thanks for taking them time to make this video Chris. I have a 2004 LX470 w/ 217,000 miles, and a 96 FZJ80 w/ 251,000 miles on it. This vehicles will definitely go the distance. Question, I'm looking to take the plunge and jump into a 2011 Cruiser w/ 118,000 miles on the odometer. The dealership is wanting $35k...do you think that is a decent price if the everything checks out good on the pre purchase inspection?
Unfortunately yes. They are so expensive and they aren’t gonna go down any time soon. You could drive it for 10 more years and probably not lose a dime
Best Car in the world brother! Congrats
The synchronicity of the photo is quite amazing, the car was meant to be yours 🙌🏽
I owned two of those LC 200 2008 and 2016... so far it never disappoint me in terms of durability, performance, and ruggedness
Nice
Dope ride!
Enjoy it! Nice vídeo.
Wow!!!!!!!! Good for you that looks amazing !!
Congratulations 👏👏, That machine is like terminator 2, it last forever.....
im still saving for a newer one. I have a 94 with 277k miles-still going strong. they are bullet proof-wish i could get a newer one with diesel
Man that’s my dream car, how much did you buy the 100 series for?
Nice Landcruiser good buy nice looks overall. I own a 2002 Sequoia and still runs good.
Congrats! I have been thinking about getting into a 200 also. Currently in a GX470 but a long travel LC200 would be pretty sweet.
Thanks! GX is cool, LC is great for the extra space, and I much prefer the split rear tailgate to the massive side-hinged door on the GX, but I'd be curious to know if you found any uses for yours.
@@ChrisONeillUSA I love my GX, but I hate the hinged door lol. I would love to have a lil tailgate like the LC stuff has had, or even a door like the 4Runner has with a window that rolls down. The GX is a stout truck though. I've had mine for around 4 years now and have pushed it to about its limit. It was one of the first GX's to have long travel up front and the first to get fiberglass fenders. It's been a great rig but I can't stop thinking about how the LC200/LX570 might be the right next step.
I've seen this cruiser so many times on west cottonwood st in Murray!! no wonder why it was in my recommendations
Awesome video brother
Beautiful truck! Make some videos of taking it off-road!
Good looking rig. My SR5P would fit right in with your two Stormtroopers.
my dream car honestly.. I dont know what the best series land cruiser was but I like the old ones for sure
Congratulations! Owner of an -08 200 1VD, no issues at all:)
Beautiful truck. Will last another 20 years if taken care of. I wouldn’t change a thing (other than seat heat repair, nice on those winter days). BTW black wheel laces out classy.
'Laces out' is what I'm calling it from now on 👍
A lot of the extra features (ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, cameras, motorized/damped tailgate, etc) you mentioned for 2016+ Land Cruisers was actually available in the 2008+ LX570. I suppose you can try to swap out some of the parts to the LX570 parts. Only major drivetrain upgrade in 2016+ LC200/LX570 is the 8 speed transmission replacing the tried and reliable 6 speed transmission. Fuel economy didn't change though...
mahn i miss my 2007 turbod land cruiser.Amazing ride i could never kill it,All the way from dubai
The 2020 200 series is really nice and very comfortable
I have a 08 Land Cruiser I bought in February of 2008 and I still own it. I have many other cars but somehow, this is my go to vehicle and I have a hard time parting ways with it. It has over 255,000 miles and I take it on heavy off road and 4x4 trails. It works and performs great!
So your has just passed its break in period!
@@LucasLeCompteMusic how much longer till it breaks?
@@babarasad good question. I dont know lol.
@@LucasLeCompteMusic so how are you saying that? Lol. Are you a lc expert?
@@babarasad lol no, I was making a joke since LC's are basically the most well built SUV ever made. They are built to a 25 year spec.
A big YES to those steelies!
Sick pick up man!! I’m going to be on the market for an older 200 series or Lexus GX470. Kind of torn between those two.
@MysteriousOklahoma Texas is a far ways from Jersey 😂 I do have to go south to get something without a rusted frame...the north east has too many trucks in the scrap yard due to frame, and body rust from the salted roads!
In Middle East we are getting a complete face lift version this winter 2021 Sad that production stopped in the USA
Make a video and post it
I like it exactly the way it is, tastful without being to heavily modded. of course that's my opinion
Such a good looking clean ride! I'd love to have one! My Gx470 has that mirror flutter too! Do you know the name of the replacement part to fix it or have a link?
This man is smart. Landcruiser and a Google Pixel ! Cheers from Socal !
Enjoy it!! That's a great vehicle!!!
Congratulations 👏 👏 👏
Nice truck man. I can see your passion. You will get many great years out of her. Only the price kept me away from the 200 series. I’ve recently went from a 03 sequoia to a 2012 Lexus GX460 couldn’t be happier.
The GX is great too! And the 460s are a pretty good mix of modern and affordable.
Awesome rig and thanks for sharing. How are you liking the 200 as opposed to the 100? Will you sell the old 100?
I miss my 100 series. Currently in a Tundra. Before that was a 4runner. Need to get into one of these 200 series or a GX460 in the next few years.
Can't wait to see this for sale 13 years later running like a champ
Looks clean 🔥
That is a dope looking Land Cruiser.
I have loved the land cruiser since I was 7 years old and I am 35 now. I am saving my money to buy a land cruiser in the future. Its my dream SUV. Congratulations on your LC
Thanks!
Congrats!
I’m on the hunt for that same year/mileage/price. Does tweaking the suspension impact towing capacity?
Beautiful truck!!!! Its perfect I think too. I don't like the stickers either take them off looks tacky. I love that there not tinted windows too. I would say black out the chrome on the back too. Damn thats Beautiful!

Nice catch! Saw this when it went on sale, but I purchased a 2015 instead. Enjoy!
Right on , so where’s this LC event at? Would love to be there in person.
Congrats! Looks like a nice rig and a good find. Are you keeping the 100 series?
I'm going to sell the 100 in the near future.
