He’s a despicable excuse for a human being. He has wished death upon those with whom he disagrees politically. He shouldn’t be anywhere near the show. And...simply being on the show that many times doesn’t anywhere near give him the right to host.

Trebek hosted Jeopardy for about 36 years.. if Jennings hosts for as long then we'll need another new host sometime around year 2057.

Jennings has so far only been announced as a “celebrity guest host”, as far as I know.

I can see Ken hosting the show he reads the clues good and he has that look like he knows all the answers.

I think Ken Jennings is one of the few people who can fill Alex's shoes without all the inevitable comparisons. He's a known quantity, and certifiable smarty-pants to carry the torch.

I think Ken will do a fine job at reading clues on Jeopardy! now that Alex Trebek is gone. He truly deserves a chance as host. Even if it is just temporary.
He's no Alex Trebec, that's for sure.
If this is a hint or test drive to see if Ken can take over as host. IMO, he's got it. He's doing his own thing, plus I'm getting a bit of Alex's style in his voice and phrasing. It's a nice nod. I think Alex would approve. They were good friends, and Ken even narrates the audiobook version of Alex's book about his life. Give the man the job already, assuming he wants it, I think he's the best fit.

If you read the end credits of every episode, Ken Jennings is now part of the Jeopardy! production staff (executive producer, or some such title). IMO, it's pretty much a lock he'll be the next host for the show. Ken even co-read the audio version of Alex's recently released autobiography - the two had become close friends.

I think folks need to be super open to any and all new hosts that are brought on throughout this process. Just because we all loved Alex so much does not mean we should hate on whoever takes up the reigns. I hate to see ppl hated on just because they’re not Alex.

I don't know how true this is, but from what I've heard, Ken has been a part of the behind the scenes for quite some time as the team wanted Ken to be the replacement for Alex for when Alex's time came. James would obviously be a great back up. However, you can't make a great contestant to a memorable host without training. I think the Jeopardy! team should get a hold of James as a possible back up.
James Holtzhauer? Nah, the guy's on-screen personality is fairly bland. A big part of reading clues is intonation, and where to stop/start/emphasize. I can't hear James's voice doing that very well. His voice also doesn't command a stage.
So many haters... he's just getting started, give the guy a chance. He'll develop his own style and charisma. He can be funny and he's witty. My vote is for Ken!

Let's face it, anyone who is chosen to fill Alex's shoes will always be in Alex's shadow. That's not a bad thing either. It will be difficult if not impossible to replace the charm, eloqeunce, dry wit, and lovability of Alex. Alex IS Jeopardy!!! Next host will have to make it on his own and if they choose the right person, that will happen.

I love Alex and Ken, I hope Ken gets a fair crack at being host, and I don't mean a pity episode or so, for a decade plus people have said let Ken be host, let's see if he has the magic, give him a few weeks and get a sense of the peoples choice. Don't kill the show i love by picking someone not right.

There are many people who would make good hosts but no one, other than Alex, is as synonymous with Jeopardy as Ken Jennings. Lavar would also be great but he's in his 60's, a little old to start the job. Ken is definitely my first choice to take over permanently.
I still want LeVar. Growing up with Reading Rainbow, his voice is soothing in such a way that Alex was. I understand that Ken is a legend, I just don’t believe that he has the voice or the subtle charms required of a host. I mean I won’t be mad but for a role of host, I feel LeVar will excel at this.
Ken already works on the show, I say he's one of maybe 2 logical options to host, the other being James Holzhauer. There may be some sexier names out there, but Ken seems like the guy.
I’m one of many who’ll simply stop watching Jeopardy! if Jennings remains the host beyond a small initial period. Everyone talks about how he’s the GOAT, been a fixture on Jeopardy! for years etc. Yes. That’s all true. But your logic is severely and fundamentally flawed if you use that data to jump the the false conclusion that “so he should be the host. He’s earned it.” Being a game show champion and being a game show host are two COMPLETELY different and completely unrelated things. Alex Trebek possessed a seemingly timeless poise and nearly universally beloved charm. Truly a rare trait. Who else in the American celebrity universe can this be said of in 2020? Not many. He was an absolutely masterful MC. Some might say, the GOAT even. Would he be the GOAT as a contestant on such a show? Maybe. Probably not. The same is true in the inverse for Jennings. I admit it. Personally, I just don’t like him. His demeanor is off putting and there’s a sense of phoniness which I find wholly unpalatable. I’m not saying he’s a bad person, but what qualifications does he have to fill in such a hallowed television role? None. Being the host of a show like this has nothing to do with being a former contestant or a champion to any of that. It has to do with being able to strike a delicate balance of poise, funniness, whit, and charm. To me, Jennings ain’t got it. Again, if he sticks around for a few months or whatever, fine. But if he becomes **the** Jeopardy! host indefinitely, I think you’re going to see a severe dip in ratings. I know no one can ever “replace” Alex. But whoever hosts this show henceforth in a permanent capacity should be someone who possesses at least more of the qualities needed to be a decent host.
Well, that's how you feel and that's fine. But there's nothing wrong with people saying that he should he the new host, at all. They like him as the new replacement and still miss Trebek.
