Total respect for this guy... 👍
2021
Alcaras is a entirely better man now.
if murray was not having hip issue than Novak or nadal would never had won those many grand slams
Murray was technically very strong in this match! What are those unbelievable rallies 👏
I never knew that this match happened.
Thats how media plays drama 😂

I dont remember this match at all,too...also its 2021? How people not wearing masks???
@@ALLNAMESAREALLREADYT the tournament was in october 2021
They should have said it in the description.
That was an epic game from Andy! Straight out into the history books!
It's old history in 2023 alright
Epic win for sure for Sir Andy. He's such a wild card , hats off to him...!
Really??? defeating a 17 year older kid (still lacking experience here)???.... pssst pssst... on the mean time Carlos Alcaraz already grew... and at 19 years of age already managed to be number One for 20 weeks.... half of the the meagre 41 weeks that Murray managed to be number One, by luck, and in his whole career... (and that Murray parades as something out of this world...) ;)
@@paulobastos1774 this was played in October 2021, after the US open. Alcaraz was born May 5, 2003. He was just about 18.5 years old, not 17.
@@paulobastos1774 Let's ban all the best players and he will be No1 definitely.
So happy for Murray, such an amazing player.
He's great- (but his drop shots weren't too good).

@Uzzy Muzzy better now than he was in 21

This shows how up and down AM’s form was post injury. I mean this is 2021, right at the start of his comeback and he was playing some seriously good stuff.
Start of his comeback? This was October 2021 and Murray had his last hip operation in January 2019.
Tbf Alcaraz was not the same player in 2021 as 2022. Still was a great match from Murray and I agree with your overall point (for example, Murray was much better in 2021 than 2022). 2023 Murray is definitely the best he’s played in a long time though.
@@huzcer Educate yourself, he barely played in 2019-2020 because he had a pelvic injury right after the hip issues. Basically only started playing regularly in Aug 2020.
@@wietla you are talking complete rubbish out your arse mate . Murray had his second and last hip surgery in January 2019. He returned to Tennis in August 2019 at the Cincinnati Masters 1000. He played that tournament and another 6 tournaments from that date to the end of 2019 (7 total). He also played the Davis Cup in 2019 after his comeback . Indeed his won his last ever tournament in 2019, after his comeback. at Antwerp in October. 2020 - why was Murray not playing tennis until August.... - he missed the Australian Open with a Pelvic injury (but his actual comeback was in 2019 as proven). then there was a little thing that happened in the world called Covid 19 🤣🤣🤣
Did anyone else think this was from this year LOL? I was so confused. Totally forgot about this excellent match.
ha, i thought it was 2023 until I saw your post!
Every second of this highlight was breathtaking! I hope to see a full match of this... great job for both guys!

@@huzcer So what? There a literally hundreds of matches on here that were played years ago. It's nice to enjoy them, relive them again. TROLL.
@@mitchhills4747that's not the point at all and you know it. it's fine putting up an old match but not during the time of the actual same tournament AND with the date deliberately put at the very end of a long description out of the eyeline. Top level, high quality and shot making tennis. Respect for both Murray and Alcatraz.
I really enjoy seeing the veterans beat the youngsters. Awesome win Mr Murray ⭐⭐⭐

i am actually in tears watching this. i can't believe i am in tears... over a tennis march! goddammit, murray. you determined man. way to go besting Alcaraz out of all players to best.
I watched the whole thing thinking it was 2023!!!! I was amazed
This was 2 years ago, but they will face each other again in a few days if all goes well (if Alcaraz beats Griekspoor and Kokkinakis and Murray beats Carreno Busta and Draper). Murray has his work cut out for him, Draper is a terrific up and coming player.
you could have spent tears on a different subject.. it is 2021
Forma je trenutna,klasa je večna,bravo Endi !
Alcaraz has that aura of the big 3 and Andy has the aura of the underdog he always had when playing the big3. He always went toe to toe with them and beat them several times too. Great match.
Looks like Sir Andy is gonna have some deep runs in this season! Keep it up legend!
Its 2021
Andy Murray my good man, if you keep up playing like this, agains a heavy weight / more favored new player, in that case, you got 3 - 4 or even 5 more GS in your future?!! ""Keep your (st)abilility & it shall keep you!! ''
@@alfredbenedek3398 Murray will get the odd upset win but he hasn't won even so much as a measly ATP 250 in the last 5 years.
@@alfredbenedek3398 yeah, Murray can upset literally anyone in a good day, but I don't think he's capable of winning slams
I made the same mistake. It's 2021. Alcaraz would smoke him now but I still hope Murray returns to top 10 level before he hangs up his racket.
I love the respect Murray always shows his opponent afterwards. It’s how the sport should be played. After the physical trials he’s been through he’s still performing at an incredible level. True champ
A meet generations!!!

Incredible tennis from both!
@@gelios1970 In January, we were so impressed by Andy Murray's tears at an Australian press conference that we were already escorting him to retirement. Although he said: there are still chances for a return. Small, but there are. • Underwent hip replacement surgery at the end of January; • at the end of March, he conducted the first training session after surgery; • Started hitting the ball in early April - 2019.
Murray is such a BEAST. Great to see him keeping the whipper snappers honest!

@@huzcer SO? Keep on hating, what a waste of energy.
Wow I totally forgot about this match.. thanks for reminding us ATP! What an entertainment! It was so interesting how Andy slowly but steadily drew Carlitos more and more into his web of slow-paced angle plays. Andy is tennis's geometry wizard! Carlitos did well to turn around that 1st set, but then fell apart. It's incredible to see how much he's progressed mentally in the last couple of years! He always had all the shots.. but it's the strategies (and serve) he's much better at now.. good luck to both of them at this year's IW woo 💪⚔️
Lol, what? Progress mentally? He is a slam winner ffs, he's played at a higher level than this for few years. He made many silly errors and wrong decisions in these highlights alone.
@@WozWozWozniacki Doesn't mean he is perfect. He still has a long way to go in terms of experience and mental strength. It will be interesting to see how he fares on the clay against the likes of Djokovic
@@WozWozWozniacki guys you do realize this is highlights from 2021? I'm very much aware of mistakes you refer to in this video, and of the fact he won 2 masters and a slam and became the youngest world no.1 to end a tennis season last year. So yes, he's progressed tremendously since this loss to Andy at IW 2021!
@@amerajanovic4841 still gets broken too often though. He's under 6 feet (just about 5 feet 11 in reality), will never have the placement options of what another chapter of inches provides to give his serve variety to make it hard to read
@@huzcer it doesn't matter.. from what I could tell, he gets broken more often because he's impatient than because he has flaws in his serve technique.. but you're right, he doesn't have the natural killer serve to win easy points, but it's ok, he'll always have something to work on. Rafa never had a killer serve either, Iga doesn't have one on the women's side either.. for me it's fun to watch how these 2 young talents improve on their flaws, and use their weapons to dominate.. I'm getting more excited for their futures by day!
Magnificent Murray. omg I didn't expect such fight and determination against the young gun!
