  • Those are some impressive features, but I wonder about couple of things; 1- How much troop capacity remains? 2- Is it still fully amphibious without preparation? 3- How much does it weigh? 4- How do all these new systems affect the BTR-60/70's reliability? 5- How much free volume and payload remain? 6- How much weaponry or applique armor can still be added? No one asked these questions when the Stryker Armored Car and Bradley IFV were developed, and the results were rather dismal as a result.

  • With such a volume of modifications, it is necessary to do as they do in Ukraine on the BTR-60M "Khorunzhy" - cut off the top of the hull, move the engine and transmission to the front, make an aparel from the back, as on the M113. Well, or at least you need to weld a side hatch into the structure from the video, like on the btr-80, in Ukraine this modification is called BTR-60T, you have to get out of it somehow.

  • In theory, SAYMAR’S BTR-60 upgrade breathes new life into an outdated platform, but the reality is the platform itself is still flawed.

    • Very light armor + poor egress = death trap I think using the BTR-60 to transport troops on the modern battlefield is a bad idea. It might have a role if converted into a tank hunter or something. Have a three-man crew (driver, commander, gunner) sitting in the front, put extra armor around their compartment so they're at least protected against .50 cal bullets, and install a more advanced gun turret with a 30mm cannon or antitank missiles, or antiair missiles. Even after that, don't expect miracles from the thing. IEDs and RPGs will still blast it into oblivion. The BTR-60 could still be used for internal security.

  • Do you have licence modernising Soviet weapon platforms? Pirating? Pirates are out any law and can be killed. To make business ,you can upgrade NATO machinery. Avoid attention of Russian winged rockts to your pirate plant.

    • Makar Dementiev to update a product you do not require any patent, except for some special permission. Many countries offer updates to the old but good Soviet teams. the fact of modifying a team is not to pirate it, unless the owner so wishes. As is the case in India, he buys many weapons from Russia but they like it better with Israeli technology ... it's something called: supply and demand. only. Greetings.
