(1)Subject to subsections (3) and (4) below, a person shall be guilty of an offence if, at a time when he believes or it would be reasonable for him to suspect that a relevant offence has at any time been committed in relation to [F2any fish to which this section applies] , he receives [F3that fish] , or undertakes or assists in its retention, removal or disposal F4..., or if he arranges to do so. [F5(1A)This section applies to- (a)salmon, trout, eels, lampreys, smelt and freshwater fish; and (b)fish of such other description as may be specified for the purposes of this section by order under section 40A of the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act 1975.] (2)For the purposes of this section an offence is a relevant offence in relation to [F6a fish to which this section applies] if- (a)it is committed by taking, killing or landing [F7, or selling,] [F8that fish] , either in England and Wales or in Scotland; or (b)[F9that fish] is taken, killed or landed, [F10or sold,] either in England and Wales or in Scotland, in the course of the commission of the offence. (3)It shall be immaterial for the purposes of subsection (1) above that a person’s belief or the grounds for suspicion relate neither specifically to a particular offence that has been committed nor exclusively to a relevant offence or to relevant offences; but it shall be a defence in proceedings for an offence under this section to show that no relevant offence had in fact been committed in relation to the [F11fish] in question. (4)A person shall not be guilty of an offence under this section in respect of conduct which constitutes a relevant offence in relation to any [F12fish to which this section applies] or in respect of anything done in good faith for purposes connected with the prevention or detection of crime or the investigation or treatment of disease. (5)A person guilty of an offence under this section shall be liable- (a)on summary conviction, [F13to a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum] ; (b)on conviction on indictment, [F14to a fine] . (6)The M1Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act 1975 shall have effect as if- F15(a). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (b)in sections 33(2) (warrants to enter suspected premises), 36(1) (water bailiffs to be constables for the purpose of enforcing Act) and 39(1) (border rivers) and in paragraph 39(1)(a) of Schedule 3 (prosecution by water authorities) and Part II of Schedule 4 (procedure on prosecutions), the references to that Act included references to this section. (7)In this section “offence”, in relation to the taking, killing or landing [F16 , or selling,] of [F17 a fish to which this section applies] either in England and Wales or in Scotland, means an offence under the law applicable to the place where [F18the fish] is taken, killed or landed [F19or sold] . [F20(8)In this section “salmon”, “trout”, “eels”, “smelt”, “fish” and “freshwater fish” have the same meanings as in the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act 1975.] . does not sound stupid now does it ! but lets not fact get in a way of stupid bullshit vides on the internet

But I can ask you a simple question...would you rather live in a time with plagues, famine, terrible medical care, 18 hour work days (or slavery/indentured servitude) no OSHA regulation etc...or would you rather be responding to me on your iPhone trying to justify how "hard" you still have it? The answer is beyond obvious. Relatively speaking, you are in a better place in life by a magnitude of 1000× compared to previous generations. What you're describing are literally "first world problems", which are relative to how you are raised. Youre unhappy because you've never truly experienced adversity like people did in the past. There are kids in impoverish countries who can't even afford a soccer ball to kick around, so they use coconuts or other makeshift stuff so they can play. Im sure if you got just a soccer ball for your birthday as a kid you would pout and cry about not getting more. You're perspective is skewed, and that's the entire issue, nothing more. The human mind is complex, so sure, you may be unhappy, but that's only because you've been spoiled your whole life and have a skewed view on what is needed to be happy.

      @turtlepowersf@turtlepowersf3 жыл бұрын
    • @@Lewtable youre making the wrong argument. We do have it better, but perspective matters. Just like people are happier in poor societies.where most people are poor as opposed to the poor people in a rich society, the people in the middle ages didn't see their lives as quite as bad as we think they are. It doesn't mean it's as bad now. We have less war than any time in history, & war is where women & children are killed. We have it pretty good.

  • It is actually still illegal to die in the houses of parliament, and it does still get enforced, this is because it is officially a royal palace, and anyone who died there would be entitled to a state funeral, including the street procession with royal guards etc. To this day if you look over ill or grey in the face, you could be escorted out of the houses, and if you are caught trying to kill yourself or die there, you can be charged with treason and sentenced to prison. Basically, the government can't afford it, and never could so they made it illegal.

In Hebrew, the word "believe" means to "trust and obey" so we must trust and obey Yahusha Faith saves you. TRUE faith will produce obedience. If we have genuine faith, we will obey YAHUAH’S Law (Turah). We will repent when we stumble into sin (sin is transgression of The Turah) and trust in The Master Yahusha. Grace is what allows us to be the men and women that YAHUAH The Father in Heaven called us to be. It allows us to obey through His SET-APART (HOLY) RUACH (SPIRIT). 🙂

The point of quartering was each quarter could be distributed throughout the realm for public display, reinforcing the power of the king, and a very real horror to those who would suffer in their afterlife without a whole body. In later times highwaymen may be beheaded, the headless body buried under a busy crossroad, the head tarred and set on a spike. Happy days!

      @numberk7526@numberk75265 жыл бұрын
    • @@numberk7526 Why do you believe that? It makes more sense the other way around: The trial the video is refering to is based on God proving innocence through helping the suspect. In the witchtrial version the premise is different. It assumes the suspect to be a witch if the person floats, using their witchcraft. Naturally, a tightly tied person will sink. So when a person is not suspected of witchcraft, they have no alternative way of floating besides help from God. Therefore it makes sense for the medieval mindset to assume innocence if the person floats in all other crimes. It also makes it possible for the other theory of the video to exist, because tethering with the outcome when the judge believes the suspect to be innocent, wouldn't work if only dying would prove this innocence. And since we now know that witches aren't real and if God even exists, he does not concern himself with whether people float or not, there would also not be examples of people that didnt sink and die.

I was never lose to a gun all my life and I would want other people to get furthee aqay from guns to, in my eyes guns create more problems than they solve. at least in the hands of civil people.

  • The thing with the Middle Ages was that there really wasn’t too much of a “private life”, as people depended on cooperation to farm the land, as it was divided into smaller patches. You simply couldn’t afford to “fuck around”, as if you did something stupid, you could risk the life of the entire village/manour. Interestingly, crimes performed in public where not dealt as harsh of a punishment as one done in public, as it would have been seen by more people, and the trial wouldn’t have had to have been a big affair. The reasoning behind the humiliation was to, primarily discourage other people, and secondly, to sort of emotionally scar the criminal into not doing it again. After the humiliation, the criminal was to be integrated back into the village community, and then that was that. One kind of humiliation was to be restrained in front of the church during mass (where basically everyone in your life could see you and laugh at you). This seems weird today, but again, everyone’s life depended on everything working. This here is basically for northern and Central Europe, but I think it was similar to this in England and France as well.
