A forest is a place where thousands of different organisms meet, creating the most complex network of connections that can exist in nature. A forest is a system in which each organism plays a role and has an assigned function. It is worth considering the importance of fungi for the functioning of the forest - the most mysterious group of organisms in this forest puzzle.

This is my safe space.. ever since I watched this documentary for the first time I have been returning to calm myself down if I have a bad day or panic attack or something. Thank you for that!

@@forestfilmstudio well done
Have you tried to eat some magical fungi? Also helps, along with this wonderful video :)
@@lenskimono2954 No, those actually started my mental health issues.. didn’t sit well with my psychology
Peace and love to you
I love these fungi documentaries. So fascinated by these little guys because they gave me my life back and they continue to shock us. Like the fungi found in Chernobyl feeding on radiation or the plastic decomposing fungi. Fungi created the world and they will save the world!
Yes, fungi are fascinating. And they are essential to the life of the planet.
The more I read about fungi, the more amazed I am at how important and interesting they are. Thank you for a great video! This deserves way more views!
certainly deserves more views
Thank you for your feedback! Greetings from Poland!
I always love finding high quality education channel like this
Thank you for the feedback and greetings from Poland!
You are absolutely right! Fungi play a crucial role in the functioning of forests and other ecosystems. In fact, without fungi, many of the interactions and processes that make forests so complex and resilient would not be possible. One of the most important roles that fungi play in forests is that of decomposers. Fungi break down dead organic matter such as fallen leaves, branches, and logs, releasing nutrients that can be used by other organisms. This process of decomposition is essential for the recycling of nutrients in forest ecosystems. In addition to decomposition, fungi also form important partnerships with other organisms in the forest. For example, mycorrhizal fungi form symbiotic relationships with the roots of trees and other plants. The fungi provide the plants with nutrients such as phosphorus and nitrogen, while the plants provide the fungi with carbohydrates produced through photosynthesis. Fungi also play a role in the interactions between different species in the forest. For example, some fungi form relationships with ants, providing them with food and shelter in exchange for protection and dispersal of their spores. Overall, fungi are an essential part of the complex web of interactions and processes that make forests such fascinating and important ecosystems.
This is so interesting, I read a book where it explained how important fungi were, but read it a long time ago. Glad I got this video in my recommended
@nishi1870 Thank you for watching the video and this very valuable comment on the role of fungi. Greetings from Poland and Forest Film Studio team.
Fungi are miraculous, taking on so many different forms and preforming a great many functions. Brilliant documentary🍄

I agree with the OP. Mushroom and/or LSD therapy can be life changing. The BBC did a program on it. I dont know if the show is available on KZhead. I'm encouraging my sister to try either type of therapy, whichever she can get, since they're so similar. I'm an old acid head or LSD user. You can apparently buy mushrooms online now, but I always far preferred acid to mushrooms.
Nice video 👍 Like to know all about it and appreciate for all sharing 🌿🌿
Very beautiful work ♥️I just love mycelium and the forest ♥️I live in a very beautiful place Heaven on Earth 😍I am so blessed by GOD♥️♥️♥️
Fungi are such a fascinating and crucial part of forest ecosystems! They play an essential role in nutrient cycling and helping plants absorb water and nutrients. It's amazing how they form symbiotic relationships with trees and other plants, creating a network that's often referred to as the "wood wide web." The diversity of fungi is also incredible, with so many different shapes, sizes, and colors. They're a perfect example of nature's complexity and interconnectedness. 🍄🌲🌳
Yes, a very comprehensive summary of the role of fungi on your part. Thank you for watching!
I love it! More about fungi and mushrooms please.
For now, we are not planning to make another film about fungi, mushrooms, but soon there will be a film about bryophytes. We hope you'll like it.

I am retired forestry surveyor and cruiser, I find this documentary very interesting and presenting thorough knowledge about fungi. In parts of Europe namely Poland average person knows about 20-30 edible fungi species, which are sough after for selling and bringing some additional income.
Edible fungi exist throughout the world. How well regulated is the commercial gathering of fungi in Poland? I live in British Columbia, Canada. I think that such gathering is highly regulated here. Without it, much damage can be caused by unscrupulous people.

Wonderful filming! I have for many years been astonished by the variation of sizes, shapes, and rainbow of colours. I went to a September wedding well away from the city, by a big lake with cabins some wedding guests had used overnight. There was a long break between lunch & the ceremony/buffet reception. So l took a walk on one of the trails. I was literally stunned and shocked by what l saw. All shapes, all sizes, some inground, some on treetrunks or rotting trunks. And in colours l had NO idea mushrooms came in. And yes, even some with polka dots! I felt like Alice in a wonderland of colour!! Plus by September we are also starting to get a golden leaf or two. There is just NO magic like Mother Nature's!👍😊 Thank ♥️ You so much for this beautiful video!🐾🌈☮️🇨🇦
And we thank you for this beautiful comment and for sharing with us your personal experience in discovering nature. Greetings from Poland!
@forestfilmstudio OH wow, Poland!! Hugs from the capital here, Ottawa! Thank ♥️ You for your message, l wasn't expecting that! I love to share about that mushroom heaven l walked through. I write & do art and memories like that are inspirational forever. Strangely, l like gourds too. I don't eat them, l buy dried out ones because like mushrooms you never know the shapes, sizes or colours you will get. Always there are little but beautiful surprize treasures in Nature!!🐾🌈☮️🇨🇦

Thank you for opening my eyes to the importance of fungi in the forest ecosystem. They are such alien organisms in their way that it is easy to overlook them. We perhaps think first of their role in the recirculation of chemical elements, with their work in breaking down old material, but less so the mycorrhiza in their extraordinary relationship with plant roots, each contributing to the benefit of the other.
Thank you once again!
@@forestfilmstudio I love your film too! But I have 1 very important suggestion for if you ever make another 1. You should explain what mycorhyza is, in as much detail as you can. I had to stop the video and go find out. I did already know, at some point in the past, but I needed my memory refreshed. Many people will have no idea what it is. Thank you for the really great film with the wonderful views of fungi! I hope it's correct to say this. SLAVA POLSKI! I thank your country so very much for helping Ukraine! I'm not Ukrainian but Canadian, all the same, I am so happy that your country is doing so so very much for them! You are wonderful people! If I said it wrong, with the Slava Polski, you are welcome to correct me. Please do. I would very happy to get it right. When I was a child, my dad said something about Polski Ogorki, but I don't understand what that means. What is Ogorski? My uncle always used to say "Dibozha!" or "Diboja!" Is that only for drinking? Or can I use it as a salutation too? Thank you very much! Can you show me the imogi of the Polish flag? Thank you again!
I wish to be part of making such awesome documentaries some day……great videos by the way!
Good luck! Follow your dreams.

There should be a lot more documentary's like this on tv in this day and age, showing the importance of things what people just take for granted and showing them the important roles they play in the ecosystem, amazing and beautifully put together documentary.
Thank you for your nice comment. Maybe you can tell us which TV stations in your country could show such films. We will try to contact them. Thanks for your help!
Excellent informative video . We all should try our best to identify the fungi species and their role to protect our forest, trees , and the whole ecosystem . I also identified some fungi species such as pyrofomes, demidoffii, bracket fungi, scopulariops alboflavecence, etc, the wood rottter fungi.Shagufta Fahmid from Pakistan 🇵🇰
Here’s the best part it’s getting harvested helping to control it spread this is a wonderful thing thank you for sharing that information you should share all edible mushroom information all around the world all the time knowing that billions of spores come out of mushrooms and we’re not going to ever decimate the population
Please note that the current Polish government uses natural resources, e.g. forests (unprecedented cutting of trees even from old forests) to satisfy his populist policy. Soon such documentaries will be historical films.
If they were truly worried about global warming they wouldn’t destroy our forests
@@jackguess762 The truth is they only care about their skin - their position.
There are many many more of us than them so why are we putting up with “them?”. If we are complacent it will be us who are the last to live on this planet, our children and grandchildren will suffer more . 😥
@@jillipepper5353 in my opinion....very humble one.... because we can't stop them....they partner up with the very powerful and do what they want....when they 'give' us freebies ... what's not known is how it benefits them.... they've designed the system as such..... Hello fellow foragers, I'm Bar, currently delving into the fascinating world of fungi and eager to expand my knowledge in mushroom foraging. As I'm planning a visit to Philadelphia and San Francisco this June, I'm curious to hear from you: Could you recount an unforgettable foraging experience where a particular piece of equipment played a pivotal role in your adventure? I'm keen to understand the tools and gear that truly make a difference in the field. Your insights will be greatly appreciated as I continue to navigate this intriguing journey!
Fungi were the first life to leave the ocean. Normal plants or trees wouldn’t have been able to take root if fungi didn’t come first to loosen the soil. Back then the fruiting bodies could grow very tall, almost like trees. They were first and I can imagine them being last as well. Great video!
