"MASKS" Exploitation leads to extinction in this Animated Short by Patrick Smith

2020 ж. 20 Мам.
19 594 415 Рет қаралды

This animated short tells the story of Masked men who exploit an edible smaller species, while a renegade scientist perfects a cloning process to satisfy the hungry demand, but the clones conceal a destructive secret. It's a story of exploitation, destruction, and eventual revenge and a twisted sort of justice.

    • To be honest I just wish humanity would pick one, collective or group of individuals. One minute humanity is obsessed with being a collective or "part of something bigger" and the next they're demanding their individuality be respected or something like that, its tiresome to constantly see contradictions like that floating around.

  • Maybe many will not see my interpretation of the video but I am going to try, this animation wants to teach us a type of teaching, as we could see that the "scientist" taught that when a species drops its population, it will look for a way to counterattack the thing that is making me come down, before I saw a documentary of how some moose or deer were destroying all the fruits of the forest, in their defense the fruits injected poison into the fruit and towards its leaves with sharp points, in this way they managed to survive, although it must be taken into account that it is not that at the beginning the "humans" already had the objective of eating the little white people, but that the first one grabbed one and spoke, he tried to communicate with the little person but when the other "humans" arrived "They left because of one of their most primitive instincts, hunger, hunger can make us make drastic decisions, as we can see that they do not hesitate to buy more little men without questioning where they come from? or how did he do more? without seeing that it was a well-covered trap that would now lead the hunters to be hunted, a very excellent animation, with great teaching and a perfect duration so that you can understand everything from getting bored, I give it a 9.5/10

  • This animation almost complete encapsulates the result of a thought experiment I pondered about. If you had access to Star Trek replicators how would use them to kill exploitive corporations once and for all. You couldn't simply announce you had one, that'd be over real quick. No, you have to operate within their system and blend in. Start with replicating valuable minerals and sell it to them. Use their currency to build facilities to replicate replicators quietly and get a secure foothold around the world. Then, you start replicating other arbitrary valuable resources. Slowly you amp up the amounts produced and sell it to them cheap bursts. You feed them their own destruction and they become reliant upon you, since you are the cheaper source for their desires in their short sighted minds. Then, you flood them market to drive down all their valuables they paid so much money for and destroy their power. Meanwhile, your facilities start producing food, water, and other needed materials free to the people. Eventually, the corporations would come apart at the seams and the people held in their power will be free.

    @Lakstoties@Lakstoties2 жыл бұрын
    • Provided “you” have the moral fortitude to not become “them” in the process. I like your idea, but until humans begin to care for their neighbor, GENUINELY, it is just a thought experiment.

      @anvilsbane2196@anvilsbane21962 жыл бұрын
    • Except that the replicators don't work that way. They generally couldn't replicate complex items and even if they could they had massive energy requirements. even in star trek they were always needing more fuel for their engines and thus the replicators. but besides that your solution to taking down corporations is to become OmniCorp yourself. if your goal was to liberate people using your miraculous machines that make everything from nothing then you would only need distribute your replicators. once you reach a point that every one has one then everyone becomes self sufficient and thus has no need for manufacturing corporations. this doesn't impact entertainment corporations or any non-commercial though. Nor does it account for countermeasures companies would inevitably use against the replicators. all they would have to do is convince enough people that they pose a health hazard, cause global warming, or are just straight up dangerous leading to legislation and passably your entire scheme getting shutdown.

If you solve it then there's no coorporate greed except until you provide an incentive to innovate which you can't deny people because v once you do that you deny them any meaning, motivation or ambition.
