The English media always vastly overrates English players. No way is Rice worth 100 million. He's solid and dependable and works hard, that's about it. Nothing special.
They do and actually so do the fans. I find fans in Spain, Germany and Italy are well educated and football intelligent but the English fan, well, lets just say they struggle to get a high school diploma in woodwork, and they tend to thing good players are great, and great are "world class". The English are simply not that bright.

You realise Rice has the most progress passes in Europes top 5 leagues this season, which means forward passes, also this season has the most ball carries in the league, last season he also had the most ball carries in the league & had the most interceptions for Sest ham. Whatever mistake Raya made coming out in the first leg was completely compounded by Gabriel not being able to make a very simple pass to Kiwior that actually lead to Bayern getting the ball back and scoring. Gabriel nearly did the same thing against Villa when he passed the ball off the back of Zinchenko under very little pressure and Watkins nearly scored off the mistake and hit the post. As good as Gabriel is, you know things are unraveling when a player like him is breaking down by making very errant passes under very little pressure.
Yes - thought he had rooted out those careless errors indefinitely, but they've re-emerged at the most crucial point in the season. He has been very sloppy since the Porto away leg, minus some exceptions.
@sebm6723 I’m glad someone else has noticed it as well. Far too often the media look to scapegoat individual players instead of objectively watching matches and seeing the various errors that add up. Raya didn’t need to come for that ball but Gabriel should have very easily been able to play that pass to a wide open Kiwior every day of the week.

As a Liverpool fan, Arsenal should be proud of themselves now that they are in champions league every season is not a thing to take for granted only Man City always mostly have this freedom. Now Arsenal reaches the quarter final and get eliminated by much a bigger team everyone is questioning Arteta. People forget history quickly. Can’t wait to hear how the same media will be discrediting Klopp for being eliminated by an Atlanta team that is not anywhere near Bayern. As Arsenal fans , we need to avoid the trap by the media, enjoy the incredible progress and push our team to reach the final stages.
