Japanese craftsmanship is legendary. You pour your soul onto the artifact. There is no contest.
Absolutely beautiful! My grandson has always been interested in forging and sword making.

Absolute master craftsmanship 🙏🏻🇯🇵
That’s craftsmanship, good work.
I love to watch and learn from Japanese Masters at work, they are unique and i hope they pass on their knowledge to younger generation!
Easily the best craftsman i have seen so far.
Nice series, I enjoy every mini second of it. Thanks for sharing.
above all, what I like about the Japanese is that they take their time when they do something with their hands
I thought I was doing fairly well in the katana I'm making, until I had the opportunity just yesterday to hold a 17th-18th century nihonto. It was like comparing the scribbling of an infant to the calligraphy of a master.
Thanks.
I have a kitchen knife used over twenty years and it is still of good quality. I have to say it is handmade, not mass production. Salute these blacksmiths👍💯

Awesome Master's of their craft, truly a pleasure watching these gentlemen who take pride in their comment to excellent craftsmanship....thank you
Beautiful work
Simply wonderful this old master craftsmanship of these masters. What is special is that they maintain the ancient tradition, such as the preparation with the cloth and the necessary materials and the workplace. It is also very nice that some masters have an apprentice, these apprentices also have my respect 🥰👍🙏
Olá! Mestres da Cutelaria! Parabéns pelo vídeo é Show 🛠️🛠️🛠️🇧🇷
Wow very sharp & very nice sword & knife 👍👍👍...
Beautiful and inspiring work. An incredible culture with incredible history.
The blacksmith that did the handcraft axe was a nice surprise and very interesting. Especially since I'm just used to seeing swordsmith and bladesmith.
Very nice work
Thank you ❤

Amazing artisans, I was however disappointed that in the last segment where the knife handle installation was not on the knife that had been prepared, a completely different tang shape, unless I missed a step somewhere.
Só sabedoria!
Nice coincidence to see Hatsukeya (the knife sharpener from Sakai Cutlery). I‘ve been watching his videos for about two years now😊. It‘s totally fascinating to watch him restore and resharpen totally rusted, bended and destroyed kitchen knives and make them look absolutely new again🤌.
I was doing that job for most of my lifetime. It's the best job I ever had! Restoring and maintaining knives, is like creating art! You take "nothing" and create it into "something" I've also restored in my house, a ton of knives from relatives friends and people I don't even know. The most enjoyable of them all, was the restoration of my Grandfather's and Grandmother's knives, who both have been members of the Cretan resistance on WWII ! Happy new Year!!!

What a beautiful sword, there are a thousand years of tradition behind it. Imagine owning it. I wonder what the knifes he puts in the boxes costs.
I was hoping at least one of the Five blacksmith specialized in making scissors. Thank you.
J'envie le talent de ces hommes. Vraiment bravo !
Merci de partager votre expérience.
All the wannabe KZhead knife makers and sword makers should watch this and try to learn something! Japanese Swordsmith: Uses heat and water to quench and bend blade. Takes milliseconds. KZheadrs: hold my beer 🍺 Where’s my angle grinder?! Spends three months grinding 😅😂
Japan at that time did not have a strong enough maritime force
Very Hard working 💪 💪
I love japan great culture....
Ayat berbeza untuk kesan berbeza... Dari biasa kepada lebih tajam dan seterusnya..
I hope they keep this tradition from master to apprentice alive once it's lost it gone
My grandfather had a couple of these swords he took from the war and my uncle gave them to the scrap guy
I appreciate that japanese heritage sword Forge still keep by Japan blacksmith forge...
Nice jobs
tuyệt vời tây nghề rất cao ❤
Heat, Pressure and Know-how.
At 3:26 he places the Tamagane steel on a flat ended handle. I'm confused as he then incorporates the steel of the handle with the Tamagane when he heats and makes the first fold. Unless the flat section of the handle is also made of Tamagane. 🤔
Incrível. 🥰🥰
I just watched a video of a Master ad his disciple hammer the hell out of the steel the old way and to see this dude use a hammer machine i come to realization that the Master in that video was a tight beggar with money...lol
Eccezionali artigiani / artisti . Scompariranno ?
16:30 Old dude handles three different swords :D The one he made was much shorter, the second had no tsuba but the third had.
Empuk keras padat...
I could watch these masters at their craft all day. And one day, hopefully,i can visit japan. My soul is longing ^^
Does he sell quality katanas and if so where? I would love to buy a custom katana.
Is that green liquid anti freeze ?
Foarte frumos! Cât costă un cuțit!? Mulțumesc frumos!

What is the straw ash and mud for? Is it a flux?
I believe the straw also adds carbon.

How much is one of these knives and where can I buy?
