Master Roshi: "Always remember these words: Work hard! Study well! And eat and sleep plenty. That is the way! We must master the art of peace in addition to the art of war!"
You’ve seen his punishing padwork with his students in the viral videos on social media. You’ve gawked at the bold display of 'sak yant' tattoos across his chest and back, and feel intimidated.
As scary as he may look in the ring, Ajarn Gae is a dedicated Muay Thai trainer who cares about the improvement of the fighters under his charge.
In this interview, you get to see a side of Ajarn Gae that you may not have seen before. He shares intimate stories of his life, and talks about the disappointment of his shattered childhood dreams that turned him into monkhood for 10 years.
One thing that comes through is that Ajarn Gae absolutely LOVES Muay Thai. He loved fighting, he loves teaching it, he wants to make his students strong. When his students fight in the ring, he says, “my heart fight together.”
Will you be his next Goku and Krillin?...

  • You can see the fire and passion in his eyes when he talks about Muay Thai. Struggles to express himself in his limited English, but the message he gets across is no less poignant. Really, if you don’t do what you love, life hasn’t much meaning.

  • It hurts so much in the heart when Professor Gae speaks of the lack of having gone to the end and conquered his dream of being a champion, every word is loaded with much sadness, otherwise it becomes evident how he stands along with his fighters such as " he fights "their struggle. We get older and become more sensitive and empathic with the next.

  • Thank you very much for the video! So inspiring and sad at the same time... I have started muay thai only 6 months ago and I just fell in love with it. I have started training twice a week and hell it was hard at first (after a decade of heavy drinking and smoking) but now I can go train 5 times a week and mostly after work (10/11 hours a day of physical work) and I can really feel that my body can take it. I used to have a back, hip and shoulder pain but this is all gone now. I have gained so much flexibility, strength and cardio. Muay thai is special to me as I have never felt like this before. I simply can't imagine my life without it now and I would love to be trained by such a man "one day". Practising and getting hurt, learning from others and yourself, observing different techniques and try to get better by owning your body and then you "feel it without thinking" ooooh yeah you know what I'm talking about!!! This is a lifetime journey that I am willing to embrace. I am 27 years old and even though I wish I had started at a younger age, it is never too late to start. I have never been this happy before and to me this is what it's all about, I want to do things that make me happy and live my life to the fullest.

  • You’ve earned more than a like or subscription my friend. My respect, as a downed fighter that had his jaw broken at 18 before starting my pro career.. Gave me some true insight and how I can maybe find a lost page that’s been missing in my life’s book for 10 years now. Thanks again for the video brother and how you’ve shown such a great example of this teacher and the lesson at hand. We need more people this frequency.🙏🏻

  • Hello Kenshin, thank you for making these videos, as an American born Thai trying to become a fighter, I really love watching the insight from old Thai trainers, it makes me miss visiting Thailand with how passionate everyone was there, Gae sounds just like my Grandpa hahaha. Do you plan on covering Muay Boran or any of the more ancient fighting styles in Thailand? Great work brother, keep it up!

Great man... he does what he is capable of and trying to find his peace by helping talents reaching their goals. Thank you for this video. 🙏
