“I’m not scared hurt, I scared lose.”
Pornsanae Sitmonchai -
a decorated legend;
a fearless lion in the ring;
a man of contrasts.
The intimidating, larger than life presence of Pornsanae in the ring belies a sheepish fanboy as he laughed in embarrassment at the idea of fighting his idol, Muay Thai GOAT Saenchai.
The intense energy when he hits pads with his trainer conceals the prankster older brother he is to his camp junior Thepnimit (Jun).
Pornsanae’s fights are almost always explosive, wildly entertaining, and rarely ends with a decision. He was the original star of his camp, popularising the famed aggressive Sitmonchai-style of hard punches, devastating low kicks, and big display of heart in the ring.
Fighting with an aggressive and pressurizing style does come with its trade-offs though. Pornsanae talks about the dangers to his life and health, and the sacrifices he had to make for his rise to the top.

    • Interesting how you touch on his style the big boxing combinations followed by the hard low kick defines the sitmonchai style wen people say thaiboxing is just about hard single shots there wrong the sports evolved alot know you av people like yodsinklai who definitely falls into the single hard left kick category but alot of fighters throw big combinations know like seksan and alot of others

I'm so angry I bite him...his father saw this and train me private for 7 years. Treat me like family, feed me..thai people if they like you are very kind people. If they dont , well! 🙏🏼

  • I trained under him for a little while. Maybe a little over year? Back in 2014, 2015, 2016. He was my favourite instructor by far. I wasn't the biggest guy nor the most skilled. But his encouragement, the padwork I did with him, was such an exhilirating feeling. I never felt tired with him. I always pushed and pushed. I felt like an absolute machine. Not only a great fighter, but a great teacher as well.

  • Beautiful work man. Many don't know these legends so it's nice to show their stories. Like p'nae said , nowadays it's easier for fighters to fight in lumpinee or raja but back in the days it was tough and the ultimate achievement for those fighters , so it's good to know the names and stories of the few that reached those heights .

There's so much I missed out on with Muay Thai history, channels like this one are a godsend. When I trained with Owen Comrie (Master Toddy trained him) back in the 90s, he'd mention names, but it was before the internet and so I couldn't get a hold of the stuff, so thank you Mr Kenshin

  • Imagine being one of the 43 dislikes. 🙄 This Lawrence Kenshin fella has been sent from the heavens above to bring us interviews from the best Muay Thai fighters of our time and fighters some of us would have never even heard of. If it wasn't for him, I would have never know half of the fighters I know now. I have a hard time comprehending how it is even fathomable to someone to dislike any of this creators videos. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
