20+ Angry Mongooses Try to Rip Python Apart
A python got trapped by a gang of 20+ angry mongooses. They all go at the snake at the same time, trying to rip it apart. An interaction we have never seen before!!

Pierre Nel, a wildlife lover, was out visiting a friend in Marloth Park when he witnessed this once-in-a-lifetime sighting. Pierre shared his footage and story with LatestSightings.com.
“We had just returned from dinner back to the house; it was extremely dark due to a power outage, and the sounds of nature and the bush were so tranquil. That’s until screeching and whining broke the peaceful atmosphere. My wife at the time said it sounded like a group of angry Indian Mynahs.”
"Out we went with our phone torches as lights to investigate what and where this sound was coming from. We all got a shock when we saw well over twenty very angry mongooses screaming and screeching as they were attacking a python.”
The gang was relentless, and they attacked from every angle; some were biting while others were scratching and clawing at the snake. The snake, on the other hand, did not even try to attack once. The snake knew that it was outnumbered and overpowered and that there was no chance it could attack all of them.
The mongooses were protecting their family, especially the little ones. They showed no mercy to the snake. Some mongooses boldly faced the snake's head and its dangerous fangs, attacking it, while others targeted its body, attacking continuously.
Banded Mongoose are often the target of many predators, and due to their small size, they find strength in numbers. They will gang up and attack exactly like they did to this python. Sometimes they will not stop the attack until the threat is dead, and other times they will do it until the threat leaves.
The python at this point realized that if it did not make a run for it, it was very likely that it would end up dying. So, the snake made for a small branch that had been lying on the floor. This gave it some cover and protected its head from the attacks and bites. But its body was still very exposed, and it needed to go even further into cover.
The mongoose at this point just held back a moment. And that was all that was needed for the snake to make its final getaway. A thick shrub was not too far off, and the snake quickly tried to get away. The mongoose, realizing the threat, were moving off, huddled together, and watched for a moment as the snake disappeared into the thicket. And then they ran off into the darkness. Silence and peace returned to the air, and it all ended like the flip of a light switch.

Or maybe wrong menu targeted that time 😂
I get the sense that the python is not feeling "fine"

After this time, the python probably suffered severe psychological trauma
Actually the moongoses was traumatized. Look they crying while they chasing off the rapist.

I am as angry as those Mongooses. You HAD to record in vertical mode, didn’t you 😡😁

Annoying ain't it.
Finally…a video longer than 1 minute! 👏
I really thought the Python won't survive this attack wiw wow
It didn't
@@donny9078you THINK.
I don't think I saw any blood (I may be wrong) but there's no way that python didn't feel pain everywhere all at once. This only shows that no matter how scary one can be, even a smaller force can win by having strength in numbers.

The attack by the mongooses was bad enough. The hurtful tweet they sent out later was just insensitive.
Thanks for sharing
It's an amazing snake for being able to survive that assault. I guess the mongoose's teeth couldn't get through its scales.
*_When you just wanted to go out for a jug of milk...on the mean screets of Chicago..._* 😮😮😮
Can some explain to me how thick pythons skins are? I don't get with all the bitings they weren't able to do any damage and the python moved away
Snake skin is adapted for dealing with abrasions (think about all the rocks and stuff they have to rub up against all the time.) Pythons are also generally more tanky than other snakes since they have to wrestle for a living. The mongooses don't have the bite strength and robust teeth needed to rip apart a python of this size.
@@An_Actual_Rat are you implying that the bites from the Mongooses wouldn't kill the snake? I thought they get exhausted quickly after losing a fight but to my surprise, it slithered away quite quickly
@@majorbriggs8876 Given enough time, they could've harmed or even killed it, and that is with an entire group of them. The snake was obviously afraid and more than likely in pain, though it got to keep its life. A lone mongoose probably wouldn't try it. Mongooses are known for attacking and killing smaller species of elapids (cobras, black mambas), but pythons are known for eating them instead.
In other words moongoses dont have a weaponry to kill even small python. They only specialized to deal with venomous snakes
Miniature wild dogs
That was amazing and instantly changed the way I used to imagine Rikki Tiki Tavi
Great footage as always. What a great channel. Greetings from The Netherlands. ❤❤

Damn a whole family working together 😂
The python was screaming, “Cobra!!!” and the mongooses were screaming “Yo Joe!!”
The cameraman took a big risk getting down from the jeep.
I was hoping this was in Florida. We need to save the everglades from the pythons. Pythons were introduced to the everglades by people and they have devastated the wild life there.
A hurricane is what set them loss. But like you said that are destroying the wildlife in south Florida. I'm in Jacksonville I'd say 20 more years with this global warming and they'll be up here in NE Florida

python: GET ME THE HELL OUT OF HERE
They kind of interrupted them near the end by being so close to them or is it my imagination? I think one guy even starts yelling "leave" which I think it means that the mangooses thought they were being threaten by them and tried to chase them away.
Exactly..... unfortunate human intervention
No python was resting. There's no even little damage.
kzhead.info/sun/m7KglqeConNmf58/bejne.htmlsi=XyparUi7r4TmS8B_
He dude said "somebody said leave" because they all suddenly dispersed, so he assumed one of them called off the hit. It's not like mongoose can understand what some guy saying "leave" means as well. Though yea it is possible him being too close could have disrupted things, I'd assume if they had a problem with him they would have left when he arrived rather than after 4 mins of him standing their filming.
@@ratfoot6490 The "leave" was not an attempt by him to comunicate with another species lol. You simply say that without thinking as a reaction when something is coming your way and are afraid of being attacked by it, like a dog running towards you. It's possible that they were ignored at first by the mongooses because they were focusing so much on the Python, but the guys filiming also kept getting closer to get a better look which may have triggered that "dispersion" that you see.
Talk about teamwork.
So after all that they didn't even do any damage
Finally we can see they python in ICU..
Whats the general situation when it comes to mongoose fangs vs snake skin? Can it penetrate it easily? Or not at all? Or something in between?
The python did not fight back because he was actually getting a free massage
This is why there are so few snakes in the Caribbean after the mongoose were introduced.
the lamplighter is currently assisting the python
I see these types of fights on the streets, but thugs instead 😂
How on earth did it survive that ! Crazy attack !
