    • This was epic you guys! 👍 We Germans should be full of guilt as ashamed as well, for how we looked like in the 90's! I go down to my knees because I was already a teen, full involved in the GDR community [without an accent you noticed, right] and also responsible for this pictures we painted for the rest of the world. Anyways 😂 The longer the video last the better it gets. There was so much within this short movie. Where Jerry is holding the f6 cigarettes, they btw survived until today. Also so much proved stereotypes and the guy in Cologne who's talking to Jerry, made me falling down from my couch 😂

It may be criticism, but in many cases it is his way of processing difficult subjects into a story that is lighthearted enough to be enjoyed. I mean he managed to scrape quite a few parts of deep-rooted world-moving problems that originate in Germany, while not making them so overbearing that the 30min long episode becomes a heavy history documentary. • At 11:14 the "East German town" shown is actually the Kornmarkt in Zwickau, Saxony. It's where the aforementioned Holiday Inn used to be located, by now called First Inn. Never has been particularly busy of spot because as there is no real business there, while down the street is the Hauptmarkt with cafes and other shops, quite busy back then and even today. Also; Back then 20:30 was a somewhat misleading time to pick in Germany to judge "activity" of people on the street. German TV has the tradition of showing news at 20:00, and then some interesting movie/show at 20:15. So between 20:00 and around 22:30 plenty of German streets can be eerily empty, particularly back then when streaming wasn't even much of an option.
