When I went through some hard times I didn't know you, but I know that if I would have known about you, you would have made the bad times better. You make a bad day a good day! Thank you! You teach so much more then "just" about dogs but also about humanity and how to live happy with yourself, other people and animals, especially with the stuff going on right now. I really appreciate you. You changed my life and my career wishes for when I'm older! You are bringing good and positive energy into the world. I really appreciate you. @GoodVibes-hu8om@GoodVibes-hu8om3 жыл бұрын
    • The same type of people who give thumbs down to Cesar are the same type of parents who let their kids run around like maniacs (no rules, boundaries, or limitations) but then expect the teachers & the schools to do the parents' job for them ("Help me Cesar, my dog is out of control!"). They hate being told that what they are doing is not working & that it is the HUMAN (PARENT) who needs to change their behavior. They just want someone to clean up after them.

      @catharineorellana3522@catharineorellana35223 жыл бұрын
    • @good vibes, read Aesop's fable "the dog in the manger." It's people who begrudge others what they themselves can't have. I've met people who think Cesar is cruel and should be banned from media. They have dogs they can't control. (One of them is talking to me right now about a dog she's had 2 years and it's biting her husband. She believes love cures everything -- and love means never making the dog do anything it wouldn't chose to do. She accommodates dogs, and has no boundaries. The mere mention of Cesar-speak, like "rules, boundaries, limitations" causes her to shut down and not listen.). Basically, these are people who want to be exceptional. They believe they're the dog-lover wing of dog lovers. They're *that* distinguished. Cesar has nothing good to offer, and their way is not just better, but *entirely* better. The only thing anyone should ever do. You ask them why they don't have a tv show, making a fortune over decades, and they go silent. It's just hubris. It's their ego. They need an "evil other" to define themselves. They're not rational about the topic. Think about it: if there was something *tremendously* better (which is implied to exist, since Cesar's supposed to be *entirely* wrong and nobody should listen to him), why hasn't just one of them cashed in with a show & merchandising franchise? If Cesar could do it with poor english and bad methods (according to them), where is everyone? It's just a sick personality, like that described by Aesop's "dog in the manger." Someone who needs to feel better by pushing others down. "My way is the best. Cesar can't possibly have helped anyone because he's all wrong." It's smug narcissism. It's bullying. It's not just a difference of opinion/priority/style. It's 100% intolerance. There is a smug hautiness that comes with it. A cliquey identity. The "dog lover's wing of dog lovers. Better than everyone else. But, unable to deliver a tv series because they don't need to. They're just right because they say they are.

      @markfuller@markfuller3 жыл бұрын
    • @@markfuller "She believes love cures everything -- and love means never making the dog do anything it wouldn't chose to do." "... no boundaries" So many people feel this way about their own children, then wonder why their son/daughter goes off course when he/she is old enough to take charge of his/her own life. If parents train a child that anything he/she wants is OK, the parents need to accept that the child may choose anything (literally), including things that go against the parents' values or outside their boundaries - or even societal values and laws.

  • Although I love these types of videos the ones I love the most & get the most out of are the ones where you use your dog or your pack to help you. I find it fascinating how you use other dogs to help determine what help a dog needs. Explaining to us a dogs behavior with other dogs is truly fascinating! An example is how a dog approaches another dog. You have explained how dogs can view an approach as either respectful or disrespectful and what the consequences could be if a dog approaches a confident or even a fearful dog disrespectfully. Basic dog psychology in a pack would make great videos!

  • I am shocked by the behavior of the dogs Caesar works with...I begin training the moment the dog arrives...very loving all reward. I’ve been told by our vets we have best behaved, gentlest dogs they have ever treated. They are sometimes naughty, but it’s usually our fault...like leaving accessible trash when we go out. I can’t imagine living with these dogs!

  • "Why is discipline so important? Discipline is what is between goals and achievement. So, if you are disciplined you can achieve your goals." A great truth!!! So many people don't get that because they want everything quick & easy, with minimum effort: Instant food, instant fame, easy money... This is why many people don't like Cesar. They have somehow, stupidly, equated discipline with something negative when in fact it's the opposite! Having discipline, receiving discipline is not a punishment, it's a way to better one's self. This is why when someone is disciplined at school or their job for breaking the rules, or not delivering the work at the level that is expected, they hate school, they say the teachers are mean, they hate the job, they think the boss is a tyrant... then they quit. They start over somewhere else & drag the same bad habits with them, never learning from mistakes. Discipline is how we learn what NOT to do! it is not punishment. It is not abuse. It is how to make one's self stronger mentally & physically.

To a dog , it is telling them there is something to bark about. To a child and a dog it only shows you are NOT in control of yourself, so why would they want to listen or follow someone who can't even control themself.

I would have never dared adopting a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog, a powerful, intense, loyal and exceptionally intelligent and independent working breed. He is my constant companion, and each day is full of learning,practice and amazing discovery along the lines of Cesar’s guidance. Most of all I enjoy watching this series of Cesar reviewing his old series and explaining why and how it works and what the dogs’ experience of it is.Watching him watching his work and distilling the essence I find particularly helpful and rewarding. Thank you again,in the name of myself, my family pack, all the dogs and their families who ever benefit from your dedicated and patient work.

    • I've begun to watch Cesar videos only recently, so maybe I go overboard trying to apply his approach. > When I first noticed Rio dancing behing him, I thought it was ironic that he was talking about controlling your animal with calmness instead of excitement, while the bird was "acting up." > But after thinking about it, I decided that Rio was simply happy and dancing was an outlet for her energy. She was NOT out of control - for example, she wasn't squawking, didn't interrupt him with scratching to get his attention, and didn't fly off - so it was OK to express her happiness within the limits Cesar has set for her. > Same for dogs - I suppose Cesar would say it's OK for a dog to be happy-excited - and express it - as long as he is not out of control. Just don't escalate the situation to where things get outside the boundaries.
