In this video i show you how to brand your glass for your favorite drink, this method would also work for decorating mirrors and such ..Thanks for watching and dont forget to subscribe
By far the best explanation and demonstration of this process on KZhead!! No fluff; No fillers; and No having to listen to 30 minutes of ridiculous babbling before getting to the point.....Thanks for keeping it simple!!
Nikki Robinson what a minute! I have no fluff? Lol thanks for watching 😀
@@TrevorsWoodShop how do you prevent it from coming off
I’m working on wedding decor for our glasses and frames!!! For 3 years and this by far is one of the most greatest I’ve come across! Seems so simple. My dad also was a wood crafter. I called it when you used your exacto knife lol and your ruler haha my dad all the way! Love this video thank you for sharing!!!
This is by far the best technique I’ve seen for transferring photos. Thanks for sharing!
Karen D will it come off if I wash it? Thank you
This dude shared some good info... didn't cost people a dime ... and they come on here botching. I thank anybody that take the time to try treacherous me something
Derrick Stinoski it's people like you and comments like this that make my little channel worth it to me! And I thank everyone who takes the time to learn with me ...you all rock👍🏻
Derrick Stinoski super cool! Thanks so much for tutorial
I have seeing several videos of "how to transfer an image into glass" and yours is the simplest of them all. You also don't blah, blah, too much like the others. Keep it up. I will give it a try.
Tannia Ortiz-Lopes thank you for watching let me know how it works out for you 😀
how do u do it..what r the steps n what materials..?
Are you kidding? You can't see the video?
with that eyeball you should be able to see ANYTHING!
You can print on a transparent sticker which costs about 5$ for a pack of ten 8 by 11 sheets and not be half assed about it. Is it really worth all this time and work to save 5 cents?!? I didn't think so
Great idea! I'veI never thought of or have seen anybody doing this on glass!
Love this! I haven't seen this method before. Thank you for sharing!
You're welcome 👍🏻 and thank you for watching!
It's good to see a lefty! Thanks, I will be trying this!
You've inspired me to have a go...it's so straight forward. Thanks.
Thank you I enjoyed this it's something I was looking for
Great tutorial! I enjoyed watching and learning, and can't wait to try this method! Thank you loads!
+Crazy Cat Lady I appreciate you taking the time to watch 😀
Would this technique work on plexiglass? I'm looking to transfer an image to a plexiglass window for a computer case. Thanks!
Great tutorial. Short and sweet and to the point!
veaudor thank you 😀
That's really not an image transfer as it is an image sticking on to a glass. It's ok though. Not something I would do because eventually it will unstick
OMG my sister 10 year anniversary is coming up in February was looking to find an easy practical inexpensive way to decorate wine glasses thank you for sharing awesome!
I'm happy this helped you out 😀 thank you for watching
😊😊 I'm starting to work on them as of today. You don't know how this helped me Out. Thanks Again.
Yes I just today came across his KZhead! And will be using this idea! Hope your sisters anniversary was gorgeous!
I can’t believe I found this video and it’s that easy. I’ve been trying to find a glass etching/engraving place and all I needed was a print and tape!!! Thank you
You’re welcome! And thanks for watching
OH this was done in an easy to follow way!!! Thanks teacher Trevor Carter :)
You’re welcome Melba!
Idc if this was 6 years ago. This guy took a time out to teach us a new craft, and a lot of people come on here listening for whatever reason. Shame on all y'all. Hoping so you continue to make videos thanks for sharing
Your way is so simple. Turned out great.
Great technique! Brilliant... I think if you add the pink soap, sometimes used as airbrush and paint brush cleaner (delicate abrasive) to the water it will cause all the paper to come after the first time.
Thanks so much! I’m doing a stained glass piece for my husband. He has a 53 GMC PANEL VAN WITH “Folsom State Prison” on the side and had no idea how to incorporate the sign!
This projects looks fantastic. You make it look so easy. I am going to try it.
wow!that's great...thanks for sharing.God bless...
thanks for watching
Hey bud...I tried this, but added a tiny drop of dawn to the water. Worked magic. GREAT video
Hank Stokes great tip I'll have to try that out ...thanks for watching
@@TrevorsWoodShop what kind of paper did you use?

Love it, I'm left handed too and will give it a go tomorrow. Thanks for a great vid. Cheers from over the pond in the UK
Thumbs up to all lefties haha ...thanks for watching
Let me know how it worked out for you
ziggydog24 the information about the problem
Best tutorial I have seen yet ! Straight to the point, and no damn music ! Thank you, going to try this tomorrow. I usually to wood transfers and been wanting to try glass for awhile. Some people's vid just go FOREVER !!!!!!!!!!!! :)
nonutsnorris thank you for watching! 😀 I hope it works out for you ..let me know how it goes and if you have any questions feel free to ask
I'm curious does the image wash off? how long will it stay on?
That is pretty sweet! That's a cool idea to make a set with different logos on it. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Mike! I love what you are doing with your xcarve that laser is pretty bad ass buddy
Thanks! It's pretty fun to play with and I can't wait to see what all I can do with it.
Wow, that is really neat! Thanks!!!
+Cy's Corner Hey Cy! thanks for checking it out :)
Cy's Corne
Thanks for sharing Trev, what an excellent job. Will be trying this later.
John Voak thanks for watching 😀
Great idea and project Trevor!! You could decorate quite a bit with this technique. Thanks for sharing!!
+Nicholas Gomez Thanks Nick! and thanks for checking it out
That is so awesome and easy to do! No need for gel mediums ! Excellent work!
Thank you!
Thanks for posting the video! What type of paper did you have the image printed on? Glossy or regular? How thick was it? Thanks!
What paper was the photo printed onto before you taped over it, was it just standard printing paper. Thank you
Clear, concise, and a creative solution to buying primers for the same method. Awesome video!
Thank you 😀
Wow thanks a lot exactly what I was looking for, I want to decorate some glass jars for my daughters bedroom for the shells we collect when we goto the beach
You make it look easy. I've got to try it. Thanks
Great idea it works. I used a ad from the local news paper ad put it on glass while i was watching you video.
George E Harrison the newspaper ad sounds like an awesome idea! I’m happy it worked for you 👍🏻
Sorry if someone has already asked this.. do you think it would be possible to coat the glass in a sealant of some kind to make it water proof ? And what would you recommend if so please ? :))
This might be the technique that I need to use, but there is no other colors in the image that you used, and the tape on empty space of the image does look a little bit frosted. Is there a way to get rid of that? I'm wanting to do an image with colors, including black. It'll be an image larger than the tape. Do you know of any sticky sheets that we can use in place of the tape? Also, for the bright color, I'm wondering if I could use two layers, one with the background color painted in, and one with the outline in black (printed). If I just do this with the original image (that already has the color), using one layer, will the color show up, and would it work any better to print the image on glossy paper?
That's exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!
You’re welcome! 😀
It's for decoration only..very nice tutorial!
Rally Great Idea!! Thanks for Sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing can’t wait to try it can’t wait to see where you take us next
Just to clarify- so you have washed them a few times and it stayed on? I just soldered over a beer mug handle for Father's day gift and was hoping to put an image of an old 70 Cuda on it but wondering if i will need to seal with something?
great job i like u idea better den rest ive seen
Very cool anxious to try but the coolest thing is that you answer questions! Thanks for sharing
+Henry Robledo give it a try and let me know how it works out and if you have any questions along the way feel free to ask! Thank you for watching 😀
Love your exacto knife. Great video.
Very nice and easy. I use tape as a photo protector as well and for cards too. Thank you.
I thought about decorating a shot glass for my friends birthday using this technique. Will this be safe to wash when finished? And what kind of paper did you use?
That was fantastic. Any idea of its permanence, especially if you do want to use it and wash it?
That was a neat idea!! I want to put my favorite scripture on a glass.
Excellent Video! Thks for sharing! Hopefully this will work with my inkjet printer. I am going to make labels for my odds & ends in my pantry cupboard!
You will need a laser printer to make this work, I tried the inkjet and the ink just runs
Do you know how this would stand up up oil? I make oils and put them into glass jars. Would the label run off if it has contact with the oil?
I don’t think the ink in the label would run but I think if you get oil behind the sticky part a few times it wouldn’t stick anymore
Love it! Super easy, to the point and I really enjoyed watching! You get a thumbs up from me, a subscription and a smile for the shirt too!
excellent tutorial. thank you.
Would this work on something bigger like an 8x10 piece of glass? Maybe use full clear sheet label instead of tape?
Thank you so much for this tutorial!
Thanks so much for watching 👍🏻
Very nice video exactly what I was looking for. Well done! thank you.
Happy it helped you out! And thanks for watching
this looks great and easy. can't wait to try.
let me know how it works out :)
did you use a desk jet or ink jet for the print?
Love your method, great video. Super idea with the packing tape. Thanks so much.
Ellie Merc you’re more then welcome!
Very cool technique! I've been looking for something like this
Very cool Trevor. Thank you for sharing this
+Rock-n H Woodshop Thanks Drew
Very helpful tutorial. thanks.
Thank you for a well explained process.
Thank you for taking the time to watch!
ooh what a cool idea for display things etc - love it 😀
Rustic Duck Furniture Thank you! I've been mostly using this to make shipping stickers with my logo 😜 thanks for watching
I have a couple questions, is there a way to make it permanent in the wash? While using the tattoo/sticker, when your taking the paper off, will the color run?
I was trying to find a way to transfer a quote onto a mason jar, and this was the way I needed. The results of what I did weren't as crystal clear as what is shown in the video, but I'm still happy with how my project turned out. Thank you Trevor Carter!! :)
oh I love this. I am gonna try it and maybe put something to seal it. thank you for sharing the idea. cheers from trinidad...
I thought about sealing it but couldn't think of anything ..let me know what you come up with and how it working out for you
Trevor, going to use glossy accents. Will update.
Mod Podge might work for that
Doom Zen i tried the mod podge...but it came off when washed. However, if as a souvenir, and it won't be used, it would work. The glossy accents took some time to dry and was a bit raised but stayed on, dried clear and looked great.
@@TrevorsWoodShop you could try an automotive clear coat after scuffing the glass with a grey scuffpad ..I'll try it sometime..
love it and i want to learn more it, it nice good job
Thank you so much for this. Using this technique right now for a school admission project.....wish me luck ahahha
Fantastic video! I'm making a shadow box for my fiance's Christmas present, and I'm going to put a design with his name on the glass. My question is, would this work with any color design, or just black?
Nicole Moser I'm sure if you used a colour laser printer (make sure it's a laser office printer) it would work ..try a small test piece before you print off the original but the process would be the same and should work 😀 thank you for watching!
Can you do this with a Photo? From Photo Paper? Or would you have to print photo in regular computer printer paper before sticking it to the Tape??
cool idea!
+tim sway Thanks Tim! now I'm on to find a way to upcycle tape to be used on a beer glass lol
Is this a laser print?r ink jet
Hi, I'm wanting to do this to a glass lantern for Mother's Day, but I'm just wondering how I get the image as I want to use a photograph as my image would it work if I just photocopied the photograph in black and white colour?
chloe adamson I believe that would work 👍🏻 I like to run my pictures through Inkscape first and clean it up so the lines are smooth but photocopying a picture will work ...thank for watching!
Trevor Carter Thank you
Thank you!best video after a few image transfer searches
That’s great to hear!
This is soo cool I'm going to try this
I learned about this technique as a way to make stickers. I plan to use it for resin work. I'd just use mod podge to seal it. I would use dishwasher safe mod podge for using it on glass like that. It's a good way to seal it. Make it usable
hi would it peel off if wash with machine ?
It's a great idea. Have you come up with something where I can remove the tape?
Drinking game for this video: Every time he says "a little bit", you take a shot!
Great game!! I’m up to 9 beer so far lol thanks for watching and the humerus comment I appreciate them all 😀
Have you tried adding modge podge and then baking it to make it last longer?
Will this method work from a regular snatshot photo?
Beautiful. Thanks!
how strong does it stick if I was to use them will they with hold the washing or are they just good for decoration thanks
Cory Schlegel try after doing all this to put buttersheet ehich we use in cooking .. and then blow dry. it willnever go.
Morphenhash Alif I guess I'm not familiar with buttersheet ehich
Can you use photos printed from asda or max speilman
Very cool! Thank you so much.
That is sooo cool...
If I use a hair dryer instead of putting on water you think it’ll work better?
This is neat. You have given me a really good idea for my sister's birthday.
I tried this, thanks for your help! I didn't let it dry first. I placed it wet and it gave some move time and I squeegeed it with a card.
Do u know if this will work on a colored photo ?
will this work on acrylic plastic?
does it have to be printed image ? Iam palning on adding some images to some of my stuff (plain colour looks boring) and i dont have a printer, would pencils/ markers would do the trick ?
PlayerOne good question ..I don't know if their would be a type of marker that would work but I do know if you used a colour laser printer it should work the same as the black method I've shown here
just grab some markers and draw right on the glass surface,if you get it wrong wipe it off with paint cleaner and start over,,when you get the result you want tape over it!!
I seen several videos in how to do it. What materials I need?? Where do I get them from?? What companies do it??
How well does it stand up to washing?
+MonkWerks with Fr. Thomas Im gonna guess that would depend on the tape you use...i tried dollar store stuff and it didn't hold up so well but when i got a better brand name tape it held up to my dishwasher just fine ....im just gonna mostly be using as a decoration anyways :) thanks a lot for watching
I wonder if you put it in an oven for 30 min if it would stand up to washing? Hmmmmm
Don’t know if the glass would handle the heat but worth a try for sure
If you do the oven method, leave it in the oven to cool before taking it out.👍
Thank you! 👍❤️
Do I dare wash the glass? I love this idea. I really like your sight because I like to be creative with wood, etc. but am also very left-handed.
It’s nice seeing someone else who is left handed
Hi, how do you use the tape for a bigger image? Thanks
You could line up the tape so it covers the picture without overlapping
Thanks Trevor.
Very handy info to have. very clever
Thank you! This has come in pretty handy in a bunch of ways ...it's also a great way to brand your wood work at a sale or flea market too ...thanks for watching 👍🏻
