  • You can also buy transparent sticker/labels and print directly onto it to avoid all of these steps. It ends up being a transparent sticker anyway. I used to make them all of the time for marketing. You can buy them at most office supply stores. I always purchased them from Staples. I also used an ink jet printer in case others don’t have access to a laser jet printer. Just be careful not to smear the ink and let it dry well before handling. I never had any issues but I’m sure clear spray paint or Mod Podge after they dry may help. I used clear spray paint for ink jet photos onto wood. I followed her steps but used several coats of the clear spray paint before Mod Podging it onto the wood. They turned out phenomenal. I’m all about working smarter not harder. I hope this helps someone else.

    • Does this mean you are printing on top of the labels? Could you cut down clear contact and print on that? I have an ink jet printer. Can you maybe upload a pic to show me what you use? Ty so much! 🤗

    • What kind of spray did u use? Im having problems finding exactly the right spray. Saw that Mod Podge has a spray now but don't know if it is a "fixative" spray that will keep the ink from smearing when painting on the top layer of Mod Podge. Ive heard people saw to use a clear varathane, artist paint fixative & even hair spray? I only have inkjet also & want to copy vintage greeting card image onto glass.

  • I used to print on an HP ink jet to wax paper way, way back 10 or more years ago. Had to tape it to regular printer paper best I can remember. Used my seasonal digital art to make little taffy wrappers to wrap saltwater taffy. It's not impossible, but it won't be perfect with inkjet most likely. I know. Not the same, but both being difficult is the point. Anything can be done with perseverance. Also, I had my doubts about this project, but you did a really good job and made it look real nice.

It wouldn’t be a rub on exactly but you could probably print your image on that and then transfer it onto your project like she shows in that video. It may work until Deidre’s genius comes up with a rub on method.

  • On glass or any non-porous items like a piggy bank, or ceramic tile.. I use transfer paper. It's a water decal paper that you can print directly on to from a laser printer. Then you just follow the directions, also it's really nice if you use a glossy clear coat over it, I recommend krylon, it dissolves the backing and makes it look seamless. Love your creativity! Thank you for sharing so much of your time and talent with all of us!

  • Great video Deidre! I was wondering if I were to put it on a glass used for drinking, would the image still hold if exposed to cold/hot liquids or safe to microwave with a liquid? Most likely probably would need an adhesive on the back as well, but just wanted to make sure. I want to make something special for my mother’s birthday on Christmas Day and she is a big tea drinker. Excited to try this technique out regardless! 😊

  • I've never tried this as I don't have a laser jet (yet!), but.. As you peeled the clear paper and the image stuck to it, my mind immediately wondered, what if you put spray adhesive on the glass? Do you think the ink would adhere to the glass itself? Idk, just a thought. Thanks for the video, as always, you keep me "stuck" to my screen, wondering what you'll do next! Thanks again 👍🙏✝❤

    • Yeah, I would like to know how to transfer pics and script straight on the glass and be able to remove the transfer paper so that the pic/script adheres directly on the glass. God loves you. Jesus loves you and died for you. God bless you.

    • Couldn’t you reverse print directly onto the carrier paper(label backing paper) and apply directly to the surface of choice? It would probably need to be sealed afterwards if it’s going to be handled. But if placed on the inside of the glass it should be okay. Also could possibly try printing on a page protector or the old report covers with the slide on plastic spine. Worth a shot. My laser printer isn’t being cooperative lately to try it out. Maybe Deidre has already tried this and can let us know her results. Cheers from FL😺
