Finally a real scratch test and done on both sides! I'd suggest when testing the keys in the pocket to take a walk and sit a few times to make it even more realistic scenario.
Will keep it in mind, thanks.
I got scratches on my phone while placing same with keys in my pocket. Fake scratch test
This is so funny to see, I like to imagine there's actually someone out there that treats their expensive phone this roughly 😂
any kid 20 years old or less
I just got my s23 last month, watching this pains me deeply.
I think the reason why we, S23+ owners, are watching this is because we want to do it so badly, but we prefer not to, and just watch other people do it. Its kinda fun. 😂
@gabriellemagsakay this is exactly it lol I couldn't imagine doing any of this stuff to my 23+
@Mootux I have these urges from time to time. Last time, it's "what will happen if I placed my phone in the microwave?" And another one is unrelated, but it's "Coke plus milk? Sounds interesting." Thank youtube. 🤣
Glad you did the sand and gravel test because that's how keys scratch a phone screen in your pocket. Clean keys are totally different than one that's picked up debris.
👍
Great test thanks! I'm tired of all those stupid tests with knives and razors when its most likely tiny sand particles that are going to scratch up the phone. Based on your results, I'm definitely keeping a screen protector on my phone.
👍 Thanks and you're welcome
Nice Scratch test in the dirt and rocks. Thanks for that. When you have some dirt or sand in the pocket that can damage the screen badly. But nobody test stuff like that. Amazing work
Thank you :)
Ouais bien vu !
Sand is a killer of all phones. This review is good
Great, love that it's different from the typical testing!
Thank you!
Great videos. Also love how you gave facts as to why the scratch tests can produce different results.
Thanks!
I bought mine last Friday. I got a tiny little but deep scratch from just keeping it in my pocket. I could've sworn my pockets had no sand, dust, keys or coins :( Be careful and get a screen protector.
The best scratch test I've ever watched! Kee up the good job!
Thank you!
Thank you for going to these extremes for us to know what not to do or what to di. I just got a S23. I have never had a more up to date phone. I came from android 9 to this android 14 with One UI 6.0 Beta. I had a micro USB and no for the first time I have USB-C.
Great testing! On the other hand, I would always wonder why people always put coins, keys and their cell phone in the same pocket, jeans do have two separate pockets though... You really have to have a sparrow's memory to forget that you shouldn't put your smartphone with all these objects...
Only men do this 😂
broo when you are drunk sometimes you put shiii everywhere, sometimes where it is not supposed to be iyaknow
Thanks!
Sometimes you rush around and just put your phone in any pocket😊
OH its painful. but thanks for doing this, we need to see it done.
You're welcome :)
I have a serious question, so as for the camera, the camera on the back of the phone, do you think or know that its safe to put in your pocket? And it wont scratch ?
Amazing, only thing missing is drop-test! Thank You!
Thanks. I will be doing a separate video on drop test later
Your channel is providing the best durability test, keep going 👏
Thank you very much!
I guess you did not watch JerryRigEverything yet?
@@oneiilldashuffler i watch him since a long long long time, but this one is better tbh
JerryRigEverything viewers: scratches at a level 6 with deeper grooves at a level 7!!! 😤
😄 yup
I've always wondered why Jerryrig gets scratches at lower levels than a lot of other people. He must use a good bit of force. In any case I enjoy your videos!
thanks 👍
Mans got that gorilla strength.
@@edwardsutherland8240 fr
What type of glass are on the camera lenses?
I always keep my phone in a separate pocket from keys and coins and never leave it in a bag with other stuff.
thx again, looking forward to a drop test before the teardown
I will be doing a drop test on a new unit, so the teardown will be coming first. Thanks 😃
Thank you for the videos ... they explain a lot about s23 series ... please make video on samsung system storage as lot of talks are around ...
you're welcome. what about the system storage?
@@PBKreviews it is about - Does Galaxy S23 occupie 60Gb for system files in total internal storage?
Oh, I will have to look into it. Thanks
@@VivekRaghuvanshiit doesn’t. That was a false reporting
@@PBKreviews yes on system storage ..
i will try this, thx!
Could you do the same with iphone 14 pro ?,or is it forbidden?
What surprises me the most is that when you submerged the phone it didn't complain that the charging port was wet and wouldn't let you charge it. This happened to me all the time when I got my Galaxy S21U wet and it's incredibly annoying and very hard to get rid of.
Happened with my A52s as well
I'm pretty sure if water stays in the port, it might trigger it but I would have to test it. As far as it goes for now, I have not seen any warnings.
This was painful to watch, but incredibly useful! thanks for this!
You're welcome!
Good explanation on the scratch test
👍
I love the sound of the rocks.
😄👍
Gives me shivers by just seing the scratch test.
Nice and infortative video. would have been better if you also did a drop test.
I will be doing a separate video on the drop test with a new unit in a few days or so once I get the new unit in.
Very useful test, thx😆
I guess the lightly textured finish on the back glass is much better at hiding the scratches
yup 👍
wow same phone and color that i pre ordered !! also amazing durability videos
👍 thanks
If the screen is scratched, what can we fix it with?
Waiting for the teardown video 👍👍👍
Coming soon!
Beim kratztest auf der Rückseite sind Kratzer zu sehen und danach nicht mehr irgendwie komisch
Congratulations 100k Sub. 🔥
Thanks!! :)
I have a question guys, the sides are made out of aluminium or plastic? because in hand seems cheep... it's not comparing with an iphone.
Great work with the scratch test, very realistic. We can see the major problem is, and have always been, sand. The quartz crystals really destroy the glass screen. I believe the newer iPhones have a different and more resistant glass tech that can survive this scenario. Either way, I'm not using a screen protector on my S23, I believe it`s good enough as it is.
Thanks!
If it falls down on floor does it break or scratches?
Question: Will the aluminum frame color fade over time when used Without a case? I'm assuming it only has a layer of paint over the aluminum part
I don't think so, the case should protect it and also the quality of the frame material is good so should hold up for a long time. Scratches might be another thing but color should be ok.
can u do it with the mi 12 t pro
I'm also using the green Galaxy S23 and I bought it recently, but unfortunately my phone's side got some scratches and I wanna remove that. Can I actually do that for myself?
not sure how you would be able to remove scratches.
so it doesnt need a screen protector?
So close to the 100k subscriber mark, hope it happens for you soon. Break the jerryrigeverything monopoly!
Yeah lol its about time. Thank you for your support!
I don't understand why he doesn't do any water testing, or any drop testing
gr8 video ...keep making video like dis
Thanks 👍
can u do a water test after a drop test?
id like to see more of how durable the aluminum frame is when it comes to scratches. This is portion of the phone that most people end up damaging with cases.
merhaba kolay gelsin peki bir şey merak ediyorum sizin görüş açınız merak ettim samsung s 23 sağlam mı yani kenar çerçeve sağlam mı bende almak istiyorum ama sağlam olması önemli benim için
Hi, I think its durable but not the most durable phone. It's not a bad device at all.
What about scratches on camera? In daily use
This physically and mentally pained me. Even more than jerry rig everythings durability tests somehow. Did you film 2:10 on a motorola edge 30 fusion? Mine has that same awful mic issue
lol yep, its painful to do as well but people keep asking to see it so yup. Also its funny you mention that (the edge 30 fusion). I know I used a edge 30 fusion for the scratch portion with the sand, but I'm not sure if I used a S23 Ultra, an iPhone 13 Pro max, the Edge 30 Fusion or a Vivo X90 Pro+ for the scene at 2:10. Its been a while so I forget since I used multiple phones for recording different scenes of that video. But considering that mic sound being the same as yours, It might have been the Edge 30 fusion.
@@PBKreviews thanks. The videos I post really require a good mic so when I heard the edge 30 fusion I got an s23 ultra instead.
Great content. If anyone buys an 800 to 1,200 or more phone, and don't use a good case and screen protector and you drop your phone, then you get what you deserve.
Thank you
So you pay that money for premium materials and then keep it the rest of the ownership in a condom. It's the same as buying a car with a leather interior and using it without removing the plastic protection from the seats because you want them to be like new after 5 years.
@@LOUNGELIQ ikr. I use at the most a Spigen ultra hybrid and nothing more
thx for test :)
You're welcome :)
One of ur best video ❣️
Thank you :)
Here i was worrying about my fingernail scratching it haha. Guess this is my first flagship device. Screen protector got full of pet hair and dust. Absolutely no way to clean it either. I feel better now lol
lol 👍
This is why you should buy the S series, i specifically only go with the base model.
great work, thanks!
Thanks and you're welcome
Are the sides of the S23 Graphite matte, while the sides of the others S23 (Phantom Black, cream, lavender) are glossy? I'm asking because I greatly prefer the opaque/matte sides
Matte back and glossy side
It's so hard for me to watch it, as I'm doin' it on the same green S23😉
lol yeah
where do you take this phone after testing them ......i need one
Usually I sell them locally or online to recoup costs for future videos.
I would pay 50 extra if the camera glass was sapphire crystal with the equivalent of a 12-13 or higher
yupp
YOU EARNED A PURPLE HEART FOR THIS VIDEO BROTHER
Thanks :)
The drive over it with a car test hasn't been done yet
:)
shit man, I was nervous so much, only to watch this video 😄
😄👍
Bro mine scratched in my soft pockets in 5 minutes of owning the phone
working in dirty condition, problem for scratch are stones, sand and dust which gets to my pocket, not coins + who carries loose coins.
Basically you have to abuse it on purpose to see scratches.
yep
wt you r trying to prove from last sand scratch test.... is it non usable for sand digging
well everyone else wanted it and was happy I did that. it's just an extreme test. obviously most people won't do that, but there are a lot of people who work in construction or in the field and drop their phones in sand, dirt or gravel daily so yep. 😃👍
@PBKreviews ok got it. But some people may take it as a bad product 🤔
Just got my s23 and this pleases me lets me know how rough i can be with it
👍
Selling smartphone S23 like new, allways parked in garage, low mileage and all mechanical reviews updated, one owner 👌🏼
haha
cream or green which color is the best in long term looking
Kesinlikle krem almalısın. En büyük Beşiktaş
@@jkbjk1903 bjk ne alaka la
get your phantom black and never look back as it's most premium looking one
The only problem I have with all scratch tests is they aren't accurate because of the oleophobic coating that comes on all new phones. Once that coating starts to wear off then you should do the scratch test
No one's watching that video they'd be looking at the newest phone by that time
Awesome information
👍
My phone is Galaxy S23 and we will go to the pool soon. I want to take a look inside the pool for a few seconds, but I'm afraid something might happen 🙃
Should be fine, just as long as you don't go too deep for too long, but I personally wouldn't do it. I'd rather put it in a water proof case than expose it to water if it wasn't accidental.
helpful for me, 💫💫💫💫💫
👍
Do a smash test. I rarely see smash tests on Androids.
Already did a drop test on the S23 plus and the S23 ultra
bro, i pre-ordered the same colour and you are doing the scratch test 😭
haha sorry
Good job....wonderful
Thank you! 😃
Great video again.
Thanks again!
😢😢😢😢😢 That phone is never going to be the same after that Damage..
What do they do with these phones afterwards? 🤔
I either sell them locally as disassembled units or online to recoup costs for future videos. :)
@@PBKreviews Cool! Thanks for the info! )
Fr we need some kind of machine to do the scratch test, then the results would be more reliable, maybe someone will DIY one
👍
yoo that’s brutal, but thank for showing me what shouldn’t i do like at my xr
You're welcome :)
Coins and keys start scratch your phone only in a pocket when you are going somewhere
Good work next time try a drop test
will be doing drop test on a separate video with a new unit
Best s series ever. Why? Because of snapdragon😊
Bend test? I need it 💔
Mine got put in a case with an additional screen protector immediately.
👍
Galaxy can last a very long time under water you can even take pictures.... I seen a video where they boiled the phone and still worked!
👍
Thank you
👍
视频很好
👍
Thanks for the test. Nobody should try it on their own phone. : )
You're welcome :)
5:22 I searched for this clip, why did you stop making this test ? The last clip on pixel with that bag of dust is a joke.
Because the size of the rocks and gravel would probably always scratch any glass, and its not like people walk around with rocks in their pockets, but more like their phone rubbing against small edges and particles in the pockets. So using finger grain sand and some smaller gravel or rocks would imitate more of an average use to see how it would hold up against scratches.
Watching this on s23+ and it hurts my soul
thanks
You're welcome!
It scratches very fast!
When you decide to use your phone as a shovel. 🤣
lol yup
bro i can't imagine who would do thie to their expensive phone lmao, i wear a case and a screen protector all the time and im so fucking scared to drop it or to scratch the screen😩
It's part of the content for the channel. People want to see so yep. :)
@@PBKreviews thanks for the video tho, now i won't be shitting my pants whenever i remember i have keys in the same pocket as my phone :P
Please do a OnePlus 11!
I might be doing a teardown of it, but don't think I will be doing a durability test. The views I get on the oneplus phones aren't worth justifying the cost of paying for the device so yep.
was almost gonna get a lens protector but it seems pretty unnecessary now
lol yeah
I've just upgraded from an S10 to S23. It hurts my eyes cause of how expensive the phone is 😂🤧
lol yeah
My next phone. 😊
