Today I will be sharing with you my experience and long term review after using the Samsung Galaxy S23 for the past 3 months. The Galaxy S23 corrects some of the key shortcomings from the previous s23, such as bringing substantial improvements in performance and battery life, but still the S23 is not perfect. Don’t worry, in this video I will cover everything you need to know.

What are your thoughts on the Galaxy S23? 🤔
It's a great value phone in my opinion and it can last year's!
S23 is the best for me, nice design good camera and good specs. Thank you @asubemanman
Great I would say also honestly I'm really jealous on your S22 having least of 5hrs exceptionally mine only got upto 5hrs max(death).
I think it's delivers beyond it's expectations, though haven't used it before but from your reviews I can tell its one of the best thier is to offer from Samsung..🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲🔥 💯💯
Yeah
Don't tell anyone but it's the best of the s23 lineup and probably one of the best phone ever made. Impossible to come back to a big and impossible to use one hand phone after trying it
Yup I moved from the massive and bulky s21 ultra to this. Not going back to big phones every again.
I agree, after coming from several note /ultra phones, the s23 is a breath of fresh air. loving how comfortable it fits in the hands and I don't really notice the extra screen space because of how good the screens are nowadays
it has a serious issue with camera blur so it's not the best
Ehhhh I probably would still go for the plus version if I had the money for it just because of the battery.
@@Tian113 "if I had the money for it" is the reason why they have the different versions. some don't need the extra battery and would prefer to spend a little less so it all boils down to preference I guess.
I love the design of the Galaxy S23, its so simple yet so complex.
Thank goodness someone actually made a video about the regular S23! Just about every video on YT that I see is exclusively about the S23 Ultra, and every IPhone comparison video is about the S23 Ultra vs IPhone 14 Pro Max, even though a LOT of people can't come close to sniffing the price points of either.
Great compact device. You can’t go wrong with the S23 lineup. Samsung did an excellent job this year!
all is perfect but camera is just bad unfortunately...

The Samsung high end line ups are really stepping up their game. Love it❤
120HZ display is a winner and the battery life has definitely improved ad i can see from reviews and that is amazing
I come from an s10, had it for 3 years but froze multiple times a day. I've had the s23 for half a week now and it's not as revolutionizing as the s10 was back in the day, but it is an amazing phone and I think I'll stay samsung s line loyal if samsung keeps up this kind of quality. Very happy with the s23
About to do the same upgrade this weekend ty
I also have a Samsung Galaxy 10 Plus since 2019 but it started acting up and i want to switch to S23
@@alexandramoldovan6673 the S23 misses some features like bixby button, headphone jack, heartrate sensor... (I genuinely miss those 3) but oh boy it's a great phone, classic flagship Samsung. The photos are great and the phone simply works. It's fast, I've had 2 updates the first 2 weeks, battery life is surprisingly good even on the base model... S23 is a great line!
Isn’t it too small ?
@@marije179 Bixby can be enabled in the settings as a replacement for the power off popup screen when u hold the power button down
Two things I HATE about current Samsung phones. 1. No traditional headphone jack. Meaning you cant charge and listen to your phone privately at the same time. This sucks at airports. 2. No tray for extra micro SD card. You are forced to now pay for extra cloud based storage. Purely a money grab. That's what made the Samsung awesome in the past. You could have like 1Tb of space at your fingertips without uploading and downloading to a google drive all the time.
1. Buy a wireless earbuds 2. Buy a usb c pendrive or a usb microsd card reader.
Price of phones are going insane these days. Will try to get my hands on it may be next year when the price drops a bit. Great review as always!
Thanks Samir for your support
perhaps previous gen s22 or even s21 also good. they all have 4 OS+5 year policy. all s2x devices(not + and ultra series) r incremental devices, not much changed.
i will do the same
Samsung do good trade in deals. I got £200 off for an old Moto E4 or something that was basically worthless.
@@blitzer25blitz62 wouldn't recommend s22, I have it now and the battery life isn't good at all especially on 120hz.
Which screen protector are you using on your s23? Mine got a scratch even though i took utmost care.
Love my Galaxy S23. Im coming from a Pixel 6 Pro with such a huge 6.7 inch screen. It was cool at first but i got tired of such a huge phone. I went with the standard S23 because of the 6.1in screen.
Does it feel too small for long time use like for many years?
Same here with s21 ultra, too huge. Waiting for my s23 😅
Went from using the plus versions for years to the 6.1 S23. So glad I did. Plus phones got too bulky. Love the portability of the phone and don't miss the bigger screen. Just got the s23 and so far battery life is on par with my plus phones.
@@onkitkumardutta3719 I used an S10e for over 4 years now and love the size, I'm particularly looking for a 6.1 inch phone to replace it, there's no need to have a 6.7 inch display.
I came from a 13 pro max. Was tired of a big phone and wanted to try samsung and decided to go with a s23. Its been amazing so far
Its been a month since I found and subscribed to ur channel and all I can say is, Im impressed with every video that u make. Good luck and wish u all the best Dion!
Thank you Angelo, appreciated!
Coming from big and heavy Oppo Find x3 Pro. Been eyeing good compact flagship for many months until I settle down with S23. It's mindblowing for me. Smaller battery yet last much longer. Powerful cam, brighttt display! Argh couldnt be happier. Also, super feature-packed! Love it so much. I also love this new minimalistic design
In fact, if the screen refresh rate was reduced to 1 Hz in the standard S23 and Plus model, as in the Ultra, it could provide more battery.
That will require a higher grade display and will be more expensive.
That's LTPO and the S24 has that. But LTPO isn't a miraculous thing. It's not gonna give you hours of extra battery little.
Good review, but why is that no KZheadr is talking about the bananagate camera issue on s23 and is that a hardware issue or a software issue? Has it been fixed?
Great vid. I was having doubts between S22 and S23 and your battery life improvements notes made me want to save a bit more to get the s23. It would be nice to see some comparison between S23 and Pixel but since S23 is slightly smaller than Pixel I will go for it
S22 battery life is bad if you use it frequently. Lucky to end up with 4 hours of screen on time if you use social media alot.
@@emilioidk2055the only reason I stopped using that phone, got an iPhone 14pro max instead for better battery life
Don't buy s22 ,it has overheating issue and the battry life is not good... if u can ,,buy s23 the battry life is good and with the Snapdragon 8 gen 2 chipset it's a great phone overall...
I'm sure you've probably already made your choice because this is kinda an old comment now, but the S23 is by far the better phone over the S22 or the Pixel 7, S23 better screen, better battery life, better processor, better and faster ram. Basically everything that makes a phone a good phone the S23 has! But I would recommend going with the 256gb S23 if possible, not only double the storage space, but also faster storage transfer speeds (128gb = UFS3.1) (256gb = USF4.0)

The Samsung galaxy s23 has broken the records of their predecessors. So, this is their best phone yet and it's in the top 5 of the best smartphones of 2023.

Hi Rex, at times I have other assignments, but I try to upload at least a few times per week. Thanks for your remark
No words, premium, premium and premium .wonderful compact device❤
This S23 was on sale for a week as a “back to school” special at $300.00 off regular price. (Canada) .. US $587.00
You guys steal from us europeans. We have to buy the thing for 850€ while you buy it for 750$(700€) and I have no clue why that is
what about the resolution? I have an S21 Ultra with 550ppi and the S23 only has 393ppi. Can you notice a difference? How would you rate the display? Doesn't the resolution bother you?
7-8 sot is great, how do you get those results? I have the plus variant and am getting 5-7 max.
put all apps into deep sleep mode then turn off background data on all of your apps
What's the difference lf HK/TW/ and global version? HK/TW is more cheaper .
Picked up the s23 a week ago and i love it, your videos definitely helped me pick it and it was a great choice coming from a s21fe
Dear May I have some question . Actually I'm currently using Samsung galaxy s21fe . I wanna know what difference you find in s23. Bcz im looking to buy it
@@shivnshots Yeah of course! I was quite happy with the 21fe overall but I didn't like the battery (I got about 5+ hours of Sot with it) and how there always were some stutters, especially while using the camera etc. The s23 is way faster, takes better quality photos (especially the zoom and the selfie camera) better speakers, better fingerprint, got better battery life (I get about 7-9 hours Sot at home with wifi and about 6-7 hours with LTE and moderate use, it also got less standby drain and that is without using the new light mode!). On top of that it feels way nicer and I actually prefer the smaller size after I got used to it, I don't need huge screens as I got a tablet and a laptop for watching movies etc). So in conclusion it just feels like it's a better phone in every way. The 21fe is no bad phone but it definitely does not feel like a flagship compared to the s23! Hope this helps and greetings from Germany :)
@-DiSTriCT- omg hallo wie gehts, ich komme aus Indien und spreche deutsch ein bisschen. Anyway You wrote exactly what my point of view is with s21 Fe in detail. It's not a bad phone, but it's not that good, especially when it comes to battery and stand-by time. I'll really look into any exchange offers with it . Plus soon I'll come to Germany so I want to know how the service of samsung is there. Should I buy the phone there or here? What if I exchange the same model I have in germany ? Please find out and let me know .. If possible I can able to meet you there if you can.
@@shivnshots I can't really tell you much about Samsung in Germany as I bought in online on ebay and sold my 21fe on my own as well. All in all I had to spend about 400€ for the 23 after selling the 21fe and that price difference is definitely worth it! Greetings!
HI, sorry, I have no experience with the s21fe
Hey @Dion Schuddeboom, how come your S23 doesn't have the banana blur on pictures taken with 1X main sensor?
I do not know, I did not experience it.
I love this phone so much! I do not miss anything for this price:) At least nothing important. Of coruse they can pump some stuff like battery charging speed and so on but so far so good.

S23 ❤❤❤ watching on s23 and its SOT 8 TO 9 HOURS EVERYDAY HEAVY AND LIGHT USAGE ON 60 H. BATTERY SAVING MODE AND LIGHT PERFORMANCE AND BALANCED BRIGHTNESS. I USE KZhead FOR 3 TO 4 HOURS VIDEO SONGS FOR 2 HOURS, GAME ASPHALT 9, AND OTHER THINGS.❤❤❤❤❤ AND WITHOUT VIBRATION HEPTICS.
Why even bother buying a flagship if you are going to turn off everything?
@akshaysharma7743 I mean light performance is amazing you don't notice the loss in performance only when playing intensive games in that case just turn it of when playing games but out of performance mode you save like 15% batter life
Thanks for the review. I just trade in my S22U (Snapdragon) for S23! I like to have a smaller and lighter phone, and I do not use the S-pen as often as I need nowadays. Can't wait for it to arrive

Same here. I traded my s23U for S23 the huge size of the 23U just got old. Love the 23 perfect size
i still own s22u, is it worth to exchange for normal s23?
I think the the majority of the pictures looked better on the s22. And also you might want add that the snapdragon chip is available world wide on the s23. Here in europe i can't remember ever having snapdragon chips in our samsung phones.

I appreciate your videos! I just got the S23 and bought a 45W charger with cord. Will that not work with the S23?
Yes it will
it will just not use all the 45W
Only the Plus and Ultra support 45W charging. The thing with Qualcomm QuickCharge is that the phone will be warm during fast charging. Compared to proprietary charging tech like supervooc in Oppo/OnePlus, the phone doesn't get warm even when charging at 65W-80W.

I have some heating problems with my S23. You had problems alike mine. It overheats while charging wirelessly and felt hot after charging it. It becomes hot after using it for almost anything. I think I should just return it and get my money back and buy some mid range.
Did you find the source of the problem?
@@85catwoman I found out it's not a problem at all. Unlike the last model, S22 (and probably the series, but S22+ and Ultra might be better in terms of overheating), S23 doesn't overheat much, expect in the first days, week or 2. After that it runs smoothly. Heating is normal if you run a lot on the phone, but nothing heated over the normal parameter.

Well when it comes to Samsung and apple there are many features that differ both software and hardware, apple is more of a business phone with a powerful security because it uses 3d face I'd whereas Samsung is more of an exploring phone as it is feature packed ,easily customisable, and many more at times its realy hard to choose the permanent device to use but I can sure say apple is a good bargain because its resale value is quite higher than that of Samsung plus I love the boxy edges of the iPhone lineup because it provides more protection compared to the galaxy s 23 ultra which has a curved screen ,so if I was asked to pic either the galaxy s 23 or the iPhone 14 I'd choose the iPhone for the edges ,security, camera, software ,hardware and magsafe
14's camera is far worse than S23, that also hold true with Hardware. You can add magsafe to any phone by buying a magnet case for 20$
@@mehshutup3041 cant say that about the video quality

I finally upgraded to this today from a Galaxy S8+ and wow, I really missed out on alot 😂
What a big upgrade that is
I read from different sources and youtubers that the 128gb version occupies a huge space for the operating system, and its not a good idea to buy one with 128 gb storage. It differs from country to country. Can anyone from UK help me to to decide if its ok to go for the 128 version? Please
In reality the storage is always less than advertised (operating system etc). 128 GB is decent, but if you store a lot of photos you might consider th 256GB version. It also depends on what you are used to. It is as far as storage is concerned easier to go up then to go down
My favorite phone...compact and power
I currently use a samsung galaxy A51. I'm pretty satisfied with it's display and build quality. Do you think it's a wise idea to upgrade to a flagship phone for recording videos for Instagram? If you do, which one do you suggers? I phone 14 pro or S23? Price is a concerning factor though. Or should i just go for a crop sensor mirrorless camera?
I'd get an S23. It's better value for your money and offers a good amount for its $800 price tag.
The choose is easy if price is concerning, the S23...
Id suggest go cor s23+ better battery
Update: As you all suggested, I went with s23. Great phone. Camera performance is unbelievable. Gives great results in the night as well when taking portrait photos. Tried 8k video recording. Cristal clear like never seen before. You get extra room to crop in and to use stabilisation. The cream colour gives a better in hand feel and premiumness over other colors. Battery life is impressive too especially when compared to my old A51 which I had to charge 3 to 4 times a day.

The s23 plus comes with more storage to you won't be disappointed
i have an iphone 8 and comparing the iphone 14 and noticing that it has the same 60hertz while the s23 has 120 hertz makes it seem like apple could do a lot of improvements, but choose not to

Which is amazing considering I have 2 sims active (only one internet acces through 4G, I don't use 5G), gps on, smart watch connected through bluetooth and AOD on. Using Camera is obviously a bit more demanding for the battery but as long as you don't shoot 8k video all day long it should be fine. Next month I'm going to Greece so I look forward (apart from holiday) to put my S23 to some proper camera usage so I'll see.
@amdboy5873 so if I use camera all day I'm not a gamer as much. Is the camera demanding on battery for both s23 5g and s23 plus? So from last night 11:30pm off charge. Today 11:22am uk time 80% using Instagram, WhatsApp,Internet.
Except Camera, i would say OnePlus 11 is a better package at a cheaper price. Still a very clean design and great compactness.
💯
Other than the cameras, OP 11 is only IP64 and doesn't have wireless charging, but I agree that it is a better value for the price
Bad software, green line issues, not ip68 rating, bad cameras. OnePlus is a highly inconsistent brand.
not comparable devices. Like comparing the Xiaomi 13 Pro to it
@@koustabborah4959 green line issue has been in many brands including Samsung and not just one plus and it came up in mainly 2019-2020 produced phones. Bad software? I have been using one plus 11 since it's launch and there has been no issues, and I also have s22 which is also clean. Camera as I said is always a place where OnePlus doesn't do good. And the reason I say OnePlus is better is because of its speed. It is faster in usage and it's way faster in charging. So leaving camera OP11 gives a better value for money product.
I moved from S8 to S23 few months back and trust me its amazing phone
Enjoy it!
hope I can buy this phone, amen🙏🏾
I am coming from and S7 Edge. Gonna install it today :)
Your recommendation? limit battery charging to 85% or 100%?
In general 85% is a bit better
How are more people not talking about this? The S23 is incredible but I feel like its release is muted. It deserves more attention, plenty of phone at the price.
That's normal for smaller phones because their features aren't as flashy (e.g. smaller battery because of size), but for everyday use most people prefer it over a big one. The big ones are the marketing machines, they are important for the image of the overall company, while the S23 is more useful to most consumers
This is as compact as s23 can gets, i do miss the old samsung mini series and it seems apple is killing its mini line too
I will wait for s24 in hopes for better camera system. I wish s23 could shoot macro photos as good as iphone 14pro can, then I'd buy it. I'm in fence between switching to iphone pro lineup and trying s23 or waiting for s24
Buy s23 don't wait 🫡 Then there will be s26 😁
@@blkbnz good point. But phone is not a priority for my right now, so I have time to wait.
Thing is, in 2024 you will want to buy the S23 anyways. I've heard they're bringing back an Exynos 2400 for most regions in S24/s24+. Honestly I hope that Samsung eats shit when people understand that the S23 is way better and cheaper than the S24 and that shit doens't sell
If you use the phone that made before 2022 right now, you won't go wrong for S23.
And why is that
My current s21 contract is up in August and I typically get a new phone every 2 years. Is it worth upgrading?
Hi Barbell, the question of course is upgrading to what other phone? I have some reviews on the S23, a phone I really like, but I have no experience with the S21.
@barbellbryce I input a Samsung S21 5G (128GB) model and it was worth $727 for trade-in value at the ongoing sale. Including the cost of 2 months of Spectrum mobile service (required before you can apply for unlocking the phone), your net cost after trade-in should be something like $150 ... depending on what your state charges for sales tax. If you're interested, google "spectrum mobile galaxy s23 sale". To the KZhead channel host, my apologies if my actions appear to be a shill. Just trying to help a fellow KZheadr out. 🙊
on the contrary, we are here to help each other!
