    • round about midnight lol!!!! So true. ...these guys were so one sided.... that's why I loved when Eubanks pointed to the punks in the crowd that were disrespecting his dad with the belt and then started whippin Blackwell's ass! Blackwell and nobody else as a boxer don't deserve going to the hospital don't get me wrong but when you're in the ring you don't disrespect any fighter like that especially Chris eubank's jr.!. ..

    • haha you talking about the 5th round? I couldn't believe that crap, Eubank was beating the bag out of him, and Blackwell manages one right cross near the end of getting absolutely mauled, and all you get from the commentators is " The shot is coming up....umm.... yup Chris on the attack.... still attacking... showboating... attacking more..... OH! Blackwell hit him! Eubank just too cocky!" That was crazy, you would he KOed him the way they were carrying on.

  • It seemed like the announcers were biased toward Blackwell. One example; after the 4th round, Richie Woodhall had the score 2-1-1,.........39 to 38 in favor of Eubank. I didn't see Blackwell win any of the 4 rounds, calling a round even was a stretch. Another example; from 34:37 until 34:59, Blackwell put on an offensive attack. I counted 11 punches thrown by Nick, with 2 left hooks landing to the body and one right softly landing on Eubank's shoulder blade. The other 8 punches all missed or were blocked, and only the 2 left hooks to the body had any effect at all. At the end of the sequence, about 34:58, the announcer said 'this is tremendous stuff from Blackwell'. It wasn't tremendous stuff, it was very ineffective and did virtually no damage at all. There were other comments,........ one announcer said the fight was about even, that during the 5th or 6th round. At the time, Blackwell was getting beaten up,........... as he had been throughout, having lost every round in my view. The announcers were either attempting to keep the viewers interested or were biased for Blackwell......

    • yasinpatel12345 Well,.....I'm an old white boy but I'm not thinking in racial terms. Clearly, they favored Blackwell, but I've heard that Chris Eubank Sr. wasn't very popular in England during his career. That evidently has passed down to Chris Eubank Jr,.,......which is ridiculous obviously. Are you from England? Do you know why the English have no love for Chris Eubabk Sr.?

      @MrMarco855@MrMarco8557 жыл бұрын
    • That's why Eubank sr. told jr. not to let it go to a decision. He knew that there was a chance that biases (racial or not) could have influenced the decision.

I’ve fought with headgear on if trauma is that much I wouldn’t have came out and continued for my career. He do so me being a audience how am I wrong? Premature stoppage due to him not playing the game fair to himself and the fans and who came to watch him. Ive fought so if I got hit and said enough is enough I end it sorry! He wasn’t to be there but placed himself there for lots of money. More than me and you make correct okay they! Be a audience not his doctor sir and stope using social media to make people feel bad for guys getting hurt they know better already so they have special consultation to tell them to stop! It’s up to them to stop they got families to feed and careers! I used to box but the brain fragile i agree with headgear on makes no difference a punch can kill you! True! If I can choose to stop I do. We are a audience Social media!

    • Completely agree. Eubank was clearly beating Blackwell in almost all the rounds. Assuming there was no KO Eubank should have clearly won a decision but if the commentators are any insight into the judges Eubank would have been robbed.

    • You're being too kind. They're not professional nor intelligent enough to do their job with respect for each fighter. I just can't imagine the mentality of a full grown adult that would lie,... in an attempt to somehow win the fight for Blackwell? As if nobody will notice, they lied so blatantly and often that I think they were aroused by their own pile of shit...........they should apologize as they showed disrespect for Eubank Jr. and Sr. They made numerous comments that will go down in history under the category of ' the most ignorant claims ever made by first class lying pricks'' ..... They seem to have no shame nor sense of fair play. I'm sure they're proud of the good example they were for all children.

    • Eubank doesn't have a mark on him, puts Blackwell in a coma, and the corrupt commentators thinks its a close fight! CORRUPTION!!!

      @JohnSmith-su3ze@JohnSmith-su3ze7 жыл бұрын
    • John Smith They were so biased that they lied about trivial things,........some of which were only loosely connected to the fight. They constantly minimized Eubank's work while they praised Blackwell for doing nothing. Some of the distorted comments they made: during the fight when Eubank began dominating, Chris gestured to Tyson fury and Billy joe Saunders,,..who were seated at ring side. On 3 separate occasions the announcer claimed it was unnecessary and that Chris was showboating. That announcer 'conveniently' forgot that Saunders and Fury were in the ring prefight,...and Saunders was holding the championship belt high,....Saunders then walked across the ring and held the belt only 6 inches from Eubank Sr.'s face. He completely blocked the view of Sr., and embarrassed him in front of a huge crowd. This childish act was far worse than Eubank Jr.'s,..because Saunders was taunting Eubank Jr.'s father,......who was only at the event to support his son. Saunders 'crossed the line' when he did that. I was taught to respect my elders, but Saunders wasn't apparently. Eubank Jr. wasn't impressed about this,......and Jr. may have been more motivated and aggressive because of this clown act. Other comments by the announcers; after 2 rounds, one announcer had Blackwell ahead 1-0-1. he gave the 2nd round to Blackwell, saying that Blackwell's hard jab won the round for him. Between rounds in Nick's corner,..his trainer noted that Eubank was throwing a good jab,............so he asked Nick to establish his jab in the next round. When the 3rd round began, the announcer repeated the trainer's advise, that Nick has to get his jab working in that round. I think this proves that the other announcer wasn't being honest when he gave Saunders the 2nd round. Here's why I believe that; if the announcer scored the 2nd round for Blackwell, saying that he liked Nick's jab and it won the round for him,...... that indicates that nick must have landed a lot of jabs in that round. If Nick's jab dominated that round, why did his trainer urge Nick to 'establish' his jab? Nick's trainer watched the fight closely. If he had seen that Nick's jab was strong and effective, why would he tell Nick to 'establish' his jab in the next round? There's only one other explanation for this anomaly; the announcer gave Saunder's that round, citing his effective jab,...the announcer had to be lying because his trainer asked Nick to throw more jabs in the next round.......he had no reason to tell Nick to get his jab working if Nick just won a round with the steady use of a hard jab. ...........There are many more examples but I'm a little tired and you're a little tired of reading. Thanks bro',.....peace and love to you and your family..

    • I have the same opinion. It seems that the Eubanks are treated far worse than they deserve from my perspective,............... and from their countrymen........... I can't see the reason for it,.... at all. I guess I have to consider that they see or know something that I'm not aware of, but the cold treatment seems wrong unless one or both Eubank is a real bad actor. I would bet a lot of sheckles against that being the case however. It's very puzzling to me, maybe the reason for the distaste is something that's difficult to put into words. A nonspecific,... spoiled child kind of soap opera mentality? From what I've seen ,....I think the Eubank's are first class gentlemen;.... they carry themselves extremely well.............I don't like saying this,............is there on ongoing racial 'thing' in England?? I hope that's not the issue, I really don't think it is and I've never heard or had any such thought previously......?????????? Remote possibilities are what's left as I see it......

  • Terrific fight! Eubanks did a number on the guy. Talk about a beating. Blackwell is one tough kid, but his corner and the referee did him a disservice by letting him continue in the 7th round. I was amazed at how much punishment he could take. And by the way, the totally biased commentators are at it again. Eubanks hits Blackwell with 15 or 20 punches and Blackwell comes back with 1 or 2 and the commentators talk about how Blackwell is coming back. What a crock! There should be a way to weed out these guys. The only thing Blackwell came back for was more punishment.

  • Blackwell had 2 glaring weaknesses in my opinion. He showed no side to side movement at all. He didn't move his head well either and he ducked under few, if any punches. It was clear to Eubank very early in the fight that a well directed punch was going to land. Nik's 2nd weakness;.....his offense consisted of not a single surprise. He moves in a straight line, with no change in pace nor punching variation. In other words,....... he needed a lucky punch to have any chance at all. only win by a lucky punch. Eubank, on the other hand, was much the opposite. He threw every kind of punch from varying angles in a variety of combinations, with good hand speed and accuracy. He moved laterally very well,.... controlled the flow and limited Blackwell's opportunity to counter. I thought it was brilliant to randomly and aggressively attack,.... Eubank seems to have an athlete's instincts and he's very quick and flexible. I believe Eubank has a huge upside;.......he's young and has very good skills already. His power isn't at full potential yet and it seems that he will get even better. His defense was very good, head movement was key and will help him even more against bigger punchers.

  • Chris has amazing stamina and physique, I'd give him that, and he's a volume puncher. But while his work rate in the ring is praiseworthy (though not in initial rounds, since he is a late starter) let's be frank: he has no power to hurt GGG who has an iron chin. And Chris has no defense to speak of. Again his physique and fitness are great until he takes a couple of monstrous body shots from Golovkin; these would definitely slow him down. The problem with Blackwell is that he does not move over the ring, does not make lateral steps, just standing in front of Eubank and receiving punishment. With GGG Nick would last 2-3 rounds, while Eubank, thanks to his good chin, might last 8-9 rounds.

  • It took a bit of courage for the referee and the doctor to call the fight over, especially in front of Blackwell's crowd. They may have saved Nick's live in doing so; this is a good example of professionals doing their job,...... despite outside pressure going against their better judgement . If the doctor had chosen to let the fight continue to please the crowd,........ it's very possible that Nick wouldn't have survived. Good work by the referee and the doctor.

  • Blackwell never gave up, he kept coming forward, trying to find a way. Since Blackwell was the champion, the old adage is you don't stop a fight on the champion, it's better to let him fall on his sword. I'm sure the referees are mindful of that, so it puts extra pressure on them. Though Blackwell was beaten badly and bleeding quite a bit,...he was still punching back and never looked as if he was ready to be knocked out nor was he staggering around the ring. The reason I mention this is that we're all guilty, as fans, of being nasty toward the referee, at least a time or two. There are times when the fans believe a fight was allowed to go too long, and in some of those cases a fighter get's badly or permanently injured,....or worse. Consider the position the referee is in, having to be mindful of the fighters well being above all, but he has to be certain that a fighter has the chance to win the fight if he's in fairly good shape. Referees are responsible for 2 men's health in each fight, and these two men are trying their best to hurt each other. Having said all that, I'm thinking of the referee in this fight. Blackwell looked good enough to fight through the rounds, though bloody and beaten up pretty badly, he never looked as if he was in danger or wasn't able to continue. The eye of Blackwell swelled badly in a short time. The referee didn't have 5 or 6 rounds to think about the situation regarding Blackwell's eye. It was about a total of roughly one round,......in which the referee could see there was an issue that he needed to watch closely. What I'm leading to is that I hear that some criticized the referee, .........wanting Blackwell to have a chance. My personal opinion is that the referee intervened to have the eye examined, in as timely a manner as was reasonable to expect. My thoughts were opposite of the critics. I thought that Blackwell may have been allowed to finish the fight in the judgement of some referees. He was the champion, he was punching back, standing steadily and was alert. I've seen fighters look horrible and were still allowed to continue. What I believe is that this referee may have saved Blackwell's life. As it was, Blackwell was seriously injured, comatose for a long time, and in danger of not recovering. Given those facts, if Blackwell was allowed to finish the round it may have been a tragic mistake. Allowing him to fight the last 2 rounds after finishing the 10th, I believe very likely could have cost Blackwell his life. It's a certainty that 2 more rounds would have caused a very ugly scene in the ring. Blackwell collapsed in the ring 10 minutes after the fight,..... without taking another punch. What would 5 or 10 hard shots to the head have done for Blackwell? I feel strongly that, at the very least, the referee reacted very well and saved Blackwell from a more serious, possibly debilitating injury, and very possibly he may have saved a life. The referee deserves to get positive feed back and more,... for what I think he prevented. The problem is, we never think in these terms;.... therefore,....... the referees only get criticism and disrespected. That's a big egg on my face and on the face of most boxing fans, because most of us are guilty of this failing. Mr. referee;............you did your job with excellence and concern for the young fighter's health and his future. The boxing community, fans included, owe you one. Thank you from my heart, you deserve that undoubtedly,............ and much more.
