Tyson Jost's grandfather was drafted? That's quite a risk. At least he scored a goal!
Did it say josts or grandfather on the back of Tyson josts grandfathers Jersey?
ayo that toro tsujimoto was a legend, im glad the sabres were able to scout such a talented player from so far away in 1974
Only problem was the fact that he was a nonexistent person, or player at least.

"Philadelphia selects from the Quebec Junior league.. uhh, Oh I forget!... Claude Giroux!" That was awesome
That’s a moment that young man will never forget!

It hurts to see who Toronto drafted ahead of him 😪
Lol at Price all the supposed experts questioning that pick.
The experts are often a joke. Lot of examples from other leagues too
That made me laugh as well, those guys whining about Carey Price of all people. Lol
It’s not like he practically carried an average Montreal team to a conference final and Stanley cup final appearance during his career.
If we had picked Kopitar in 2005, we would have kept Halak and I am pretty sure that this team could have win more playoff games.
@@funnypower5270 Halak was inconsistent. He had a great 2010 playoffs but other than that he’s just a solid backup. I doubt he’d be able to carry a franchise like Montreal.

why does he get booed
3 lockouts, diminishes the game in Canada for fringe markets in the south, ignored concussion and CTE data and more than likely has helped shuffle sex scandals under the rug for years Just sayin
He's rich. He doesn't give af.
@@jordansamson6071 could u explain how he diminished the game in Canada? I’m not very knowledgeable about this stuff
@@andre9710 The Québec Nordiques were relocated from Québec City to Colorado in the 90s. All the recent expansions (Vegas, Seattle, etc) have been made in the US while there are actual markets in the North that could welcome an NHL team. And there's the Arizona Coyotes, a terrible team in the middle of a freaking desert. They could be relocated to Québec City for instance but it's not in Bettman's plans and he won't do anything to make it happen.
One of my fav moments ever still had to be Clarke forgetting girouxs name. Funny how giroux is now next to Clarke in flyers records now
Just making sure Clarke never forgets it again!

I’m glad you included the draft moment where Alex Trebek announced Tim Stutzle’s name! May he Rest In Peace (1940-2020)
8:09 probably the best move a GM ever made in a draft
Picking the Sedins was worth it.
Seeing Montreal fans after the Carey pick was Priceless
Ahhhh
Would they be Pricefull
@@f.f5771 Well they’ve seemed to Carey on since then. He’s arguably their best player, so one might say the Price was right.
It wasn't too priceless because they didn't show a single MTL fan after the price pick. You have it all wrong. It was a completely different draft pick and different draft that the MTL fans were upset over. "Priceless"???? 1:40 when the fans are upset. 7:15 when price is drafted. And no fans are shown. Maybe your not talking about the video and are just going from memory because I don't know what your talking about?!?!?!?
@@omalley5196 He's making a joke, using Price's name
I come back to this video from time to time and it still amazes me how well burke coordinated getting both Sedin's on vancouver. Probably the greatest feat in his entire history in the NHL.
Wtf... Today was the day I find out I was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres...
Of course the Carey Price clip is here
Taro Tsujimoto is a Buffalo legend that you never heard of
Yet Wayne Glensky still better
man, its crazy to see the amount of trades it took to have the swedish twins play together. its awesome to see
Imagine talking shit about a prospect right as he’s getting drafted and then he turns into one the greatest nhl goaltenders of all time
Jesus christ, Eric Lindros was built like a pro bowl tight end as an 18 year old.
He looks like tommy gun from rocky 5
For real, it's crazy when he got laid out and it ended his career. That hit was some serious shit.
@@DirtyMoneyHipHop ^^ the reason he got laid out, he got used to playing as the biggest boy on the ice. same problem Slafkovsky is now having now that hes in the nhl
Mario not greeting the Pens was wild, thankfully he went on to save Pittsburgh's hockey on and off the ice.
As a Winnipeg Jets fan, hearing Mark Chipman announce at the 2011 draft (the first draft for Jet 2.0), "It is now my pleasure to introduce our Executive Vice President and General Manager, Kevin Cheveldayoff, who will make our first pick on behalf of ...the Winnipeg Jets," still makes me tear up. There were so many rumours about the team name, including the alleged front runner, Polar Bears (yikes!), that knowing our team would honour the city's history by keeping the Jets name was epic.
I’m glad you can appreciate your team…greetings from the Thrashers boneyard 😢
The reaction to price getting drafted is golden
When I heard the Kirby Dach’s brother and Shane Doan’s son were drafted, and that Josh Doan was going to play for the same team as his father and that Colton Dach was going to play on the same team as his brother, that made me happy.
Honestly, Caps should trade Dru Krebs to Buffalo in exchange for taking Hagelin's contract off our hands lmao
Cue the violin 🎻🙄
Don’t forget about Luke Hughes
@@trumanzerse1169 oh, of course. Can’t forget that one.

i love bettmen he knows hes done so much good for the league and loves the fans reactions
Colin White skipping Bettman made my day 😂
The devils fan freaking out about a 7th round pick 🤣
I love the energy of the Taro Tsjuimoto idea. It would be a slight snicker, but they went the extra length of not telling anybody. Perfection!
Pierre McGuire's take on the Price pick is still hilarious af
Imagine if some Japanese man just went to the training camp and made the team and broke some record in the long term..
In Pierre’s defense, Montreal did have other huge needs and drafting goalies is always risky. Didn’t mention Halak either who looked like he’d be the franchise starter for a while. This pick was an A+ pick but it took several years to pan out
Goalies age different. Sometimes they're ready to set sail like Binnington but for example we found Laco in Slovakia in his late 20' and he went from second Slovak league to absolute superstar in like 2 yrs?
Brian Burkes trades in draft day to get the sedins might be the greatest draft day trade in the history of the NHL
it was the only time he did not got some good ol' north american boys
In hindsight, that lady after the Habs named Kotkaniemi, was absolutely right. It was a disaster and they gift wrapped Brady Tkachuk to the Sens.
Red Wings picking Seider. You could hear the collective gasp of everyone in the arena when Yzerman made that announcement. It’s a good one if you do a pt2
I can’t imagine the feeling of getting picked first
I can. My name is Connor McDavid. It's pretty cool
Until it's Columbus or a team in the middle of nowhere Canada picking then I'd be more than OK with going later.
To be picked at all would be something. In fact even getting to play hockey on a team anywhere at any level would be something. Even playing 1v1 with a friend is just great.

I'm not a fan of Bettman, but I have to tip my hat off to him the way he handled the introduction.
It may look like a mistake for Quebec to draft Lindros but his rights allowed them to make a massive trade that setup the team (eventually Colorado) to win the cup
Yeah, they could basically hold his rights hostage

the fact that pierre macguire described picking carey price, an indigenous player, as "off the reservation" should have had macguire fired that day
Holy shit. I didn't even clock that. That's some sneaky racism.
Pierre Mcguire is a creep and he should be ashamed of himself, absolute lack of respect for Price there.
@@rw4578 lol calm down there, Mister 2021.

"off the reservation" is just a general term meaning out of control. And Carey Price really doesn't look indigenous. You're forcing an interpretation onto something rather than considering it in context.
