Baylor vs. Arkansas - Elite Eight NCAA tournament extended highlights
Baylor controlled the lead since the opening tip, but Arkansas' pesky play gave the Bears havoc late in the second half. Ultimately, Baylor would hold on to take the win 81-72, advancing to the Final Four for the first time since 1950! MaCio Teague led the Bears with 22 points and 5 boards. @@twoquickii1330 No, but we may get the top 5-6 in-state guys and HS BB is very good in Arkansas right now. Musselman will bring in a couple of transfers like he did this year with J Smith, J Tate and Notae. The program is definitely on the rise, and it's really about the guy in charge (Mussleman) along with the support they get from the entire state.
That was the closest game Baylor played in the whole tournament. Y’all are the runners up in my opinion

Baylor plays physical, has great guard play, shooting, and athleticism. They definitely have a chance against Gonzaga and I would put my money on them against Michigan right now

Arkansas was the only team to really hang with Baylor and even they were never in a position to actually win it in the second half. That's just how good Baylor was in the tournament.

I was born in 1950, the same year that was the last time Baylor went to the Final Four. In all of those years the Baylor sports teams were unusually terrible but now is different. I unfortunately don't live in Waco anymore but I am so proud and happy for Waco and Baylor Basketball.

Crazy how Arkansas doesn’t seem to start playing til they’re down double digits. Baylor played excellent. Hard to think Arkansas was able to get it all the way to 4 just gutting it out. Had Arkansas got anything to fall in last 5 minutes it would have been real interesting. Baylor will be tough to beat.

@@masonparis7957 As hard as Ark clawed back they just couldn’t catch a break at the end of each half. First half they cut the lead to 6. Then Ark gets two horrible calls against them...one offensive one defensive... both that should have put Ark on FT line. And on top of that they also missed two FTs. Should have been a 1 or 2 pt game at half. Then in second half Ark cuts it to 4 and has ball. Gets two wide open shots to cut it further and all of sudden they pick worse time ever to not buy a basket. Over the next 5 minutes Ark misses three layups and three 3s and can’t get a call. In same span Baylor hits 2 layups and three straight 3’s. That’s your ballgame. Baylor was lights out but Ark still had some chances despite some bad breaks. Baylor is very good and will be hard to beat if they play like this the rest of the tournament.
Man, whatever happens in this tournament, Davion Mitchell and Jared Butler have both proven that they are NBA ready guards. Mitchell's defense is insane, and his explosiveness and finishing around the rim reminds of Westbrook back in UCLA. Add the fact that he also has a sweet midrange jumper, my goodness. Butler is more refined, pull up jumpers and floaters, and everything about his game is just so smooth. If its Gonzaga vs Baylor in the finals, that may be the best finals in terms of raw talent we will see.
They could be solid 2nd round draft gems.

Duke vs Arizona was pretty stacked with NBA talent in 2001. Duke versus Unlv in 1990 was also loaded with future nba players. Although the Duke vs Michigan in 1992 might of had the most future NBA players in a NCAA championship game ever. Unc vs Michigan in 1993 was loaded too. A Gonzaga versus Butler finals would definitely be stacked with talent though and definitely a game I am hoping to see. Michigan is legit this year as well though, don't forget the Wolverines. This tournament has been full of great games, so glad and thankful to have it back this year. Thank you so much to all of you NCAA players,coaches,trainers,bus drivers, I mean everybody thank you for everything you did this year to bring us back the best game and Tournament on the Planet. Can't wait for tonight's games

I honestly don't think Gonzaga makes it to final four. Those teams from California and Michigan will give them more they can handle. They have yet to he tested. I have Baylor or Houston winning it all.

@Seyon siva Well, for starters, our first loss was against a team that was undefeated at home during the time. Our loss vs Illinois (at home) was bad, but against a really good Illinois team that won the Big Ten Tournament. Third, that loss to MSU (the team that had to beat three top 5 teams to even get in the tourney) meant nothing against Michigan, given that we're still big ten regular season champions. Also, that Ohio State loss was really expected given the fact that we were down double digits, and the poor execution on the last play by Mike Smith. It doesn't make sense that ppl sleep on Michigan in the beginning of the season, slob over us when we do great, then call us overrated for losing only 4 games (and STILL being crowned Outright Big Ten Champs)... Not to mention we're in the Elite 8 now, so those losses really mean nothing at this point.

This Baylor team reminds me of the Louisville teams of the 80s, and teams like the Flying Illini and the Texas team thst had Lance Blanks, Travis Mays and Joey Wright..just really good defensive teams that had a lot of guys who could be beat you from all over the court

Seemed like the margin hovered between 6 and 12 points the entire second half - Arkansas hung in but could never make that run at them.
This was probably the most entertaining game of the Tournament. Even better than the Championship game

Although I was impressed with the way Arkansas never gave up all tournament, at some point don't you have to look at why they were behind by double digits in EVERY game? To me, they looked disinterested in the first half of all their games, especially ORU. They were a great team and had a super season, but they could still be playing if they came out ready to play.
Been a fan of Baylor men's basketball for almost 20 years. They have come a long, long, LONG way since the Patrick Dennehy scandal and its fallout. Scott Drew took over a program in shambles and turned it around into one of the best in the country.

@JakeyCakey most of the team doesn’t play! The poster was talking about the team that was playing. Ark started 3 Freshman and 2/3 are their best players. Smith and Tate are Seniors. Notae a junior. The only other guy that really got minutes was Vanover whose a Soph. Another Freshman that was getting minutes early in season got hurt. So do all 7 players that usually play have to all be Freshman in order to be a young team? 3 Freshman starters doesn’t make it?? Ok got it🙄

If that's how you pick your teams you'll never win. There's almost no point in looking back more than the current season when using stats, to help determine how a team does *now*. Mostly because of player turnover and injuries.
