  • We all want Jack to wear eye protection when welding. His videos are fantastic and clever and entertaining. He is always so cheerful! We don’t want anything bad to happen.

    • Not really, it’s a relatively new car and it’s still being made. Hell even if you were some shadetree mechanic doing this in a field to a ‘99 LeSabre, you could buy a wrecked one with a front end impact and lobbing the back off of it. The real amazing part is putting it all together since that’s all structural and was never meant to be segmented in the first place.

  • I'm pretty sure it was cheaper to fix this car and put it back on the road. I know a few countries where vehicle tax is insane. Can you imagine buying a camry for 80k or even 100k? Well in some parts of the world that's what they cost, because the government dosen't allow or want more vehicle to be on the road.

    @vonstervon4407@vonstervon44072 жыл бұрын
    • I was just about to say this. Not only that but the fact that the cost of labor in some countries is so low that the cost-benefit to repairing versus replacing is actually viable.

    • Nothing professional about it...there is no way that thing would be squared up. If for some reason you had to repair a car as badly damaged as that, at the very least it should be repaired on a factory approved laser alingnment system, or jig. Structurally, it would be compromised. The mounting points for the rear suspension would be all out of alignment. You can make anything fit if you belt it hard enough with a sledge hammer. And I speak from over 40 years in the crash repair buissness.

  • We have these devices in the industry called ... measuring tools. They're designed for you to be able to accurately monitor the direction and accuracy of the pull. And eliminate all the guesswork... of trying to figure out whether or not, you did the job properly. Not to mention... Give you the ability to accurately predict... How much that repair is really going to cost. But you don't have to trust me... I just did the same job, with the measuring tools, for over 20 years. Don't get me wrong... I admired the way that you tackled the direct damage in that vehicle. But what about the indirect damage? What's your guarantee, that cars going down the road straight? I don't care what shape you're in, or how you do the job that's it. But the laws of physics to apply. And they don't discriminate against anyone. Perhaps you should use this as the little green lizards training video. Seeing how, he doesn't accurately repair cars either.

    • Indirect damage?? I wonder what hapend to the whole structure...they focus only at the back damage. Anyway, what do they mean by TOTAL DAMAGE..in my country...total damage cannot be restored..it must be scraped. It seams every damage has its own degree (%) of damage until total loss... I am not a mechanic, not insurance people, not a teacher related to auto industry.. but something wrong when a vehicle claim to be total loss can be restored... Anyway I like the mechanic guy..always smile when that car going up to that ramp...like nothing is imposible to repaired...😅

    • mine has laser beams and sht cool huh. y a good 3d measuring system to verify the rest of the vehicle would be nice. i wouldn't worry about the lizard they don't fix cars the shops do hence all the liability is on the shop. never fall for the we don't pay for that nonsense. either they pay to fix it per oem or tell them to haul it out of the shop.

    • Plenty of people are capable of this type of repair. It doesn’t get done in a lot of countries because it is illegal. It is illegal because too many people that are capable decide to take shortcuts to save labour and put the integrity of the car at risk, therefore the safety and people’s lives. I thought this was obvious. I would assume you have little to no knowledge on the industry

It’s only when they Bondi and repair the bent panels it’s unsafe . You can see he drills out spot welds and replaces with new panels . When it’s all together it’s become strong again .

  • Only thing this "mechanic" should gather is a few years in jail. The "total loss" was given for a reason...

    • Insurance companies don't want to pay labor for a car that costs less that's why they declare cars as total loss very easily, that doesn't mean the car has any serious problem, if you get it for cheap or scrap price and be able to repair it your self like those guys in the video, you can make like 10k profit for 1000$.
