Parmesan Crusted Brussel Sprouts - Make This Recipe
It took a few attempts, but it was worth it! One huge layer of brussel sprouts and crispy parmesan cheese. The perfect side dish recipe.
2 pounds Brussels sprouts
3/4 teaspoon each smoked paprika, onion powder, & garlic powder
2 cups parmesan cheese, grated
Extra virgin olive oil
Salt & pepper
Bring a pot of water to the boil. Meanwhile, cut the tip off the root ends of the Brussels sprouts off. Season boiling water with 1 teaspoon of salt and boil for 4 minutes. Immediately drain well and add to a large bowl. Season with 2 teaspoons olive oil, a big pinch of salt, few cracks of pepper, smoked paprika, onion and garlic powder. Mix well.
Preheat oven to 450F. Cut sprouts in half. Grease the bottom of a baking sheet with olive oil and place a parchment sheet on top. Grate the parmesan on the largest setting of a box grater and place one layer down on top of the parchment. Add the Brussels sprouts and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown.
Allow sprouts to cool for a few minutes then carefully remove the entire sheet of Brussels sprouts. Enjoy!

I also have bad childhood flashbacks of Brussels sprouts! I just recently learned to like them… I figured out that the reason they were always gross is that the only way my mom ever prepared them was just steamed with maybe some butter, and Brussels need more help than that. They’re too bitter for me, just as-is. Roasting them takes a lot of that bitterness out. And of course seasonings like smoked paprika or Calabrian chili powder help too! The Parmesan cheese recipe here looks amazing- definitely trying it next!
Parmesan and Brussels sprouts are a match made in heaven 😍 I like to do mine with a Parmesan cream sauce and pour it over the Brussels. More calories but so delicious!

@@respther2003 Not sure what @Clair1028 uses, but this is a great dipping sauce and tastes even better the next day after the flavors have time to marry. I don't pour the sauce on food but use it as a dip, instead. ¼ cup mayonnaise ¼ cup sour cream 1 clove garlic minced ¼ cup grated parmesan 1 pinch salt ground black pepper to taste
Parchment paper is needed. Lady from Hungry Happens does hers with parchment paper.
