You have the wrong picture. These tunas are not wild as such, they are grown in the sea inside nets and now is harvesting time. More sustainable than wild fishing as here is controlled how many are grown and how many killed. This is in south Spain and most of it ends up in Japan, creating employment and great economy to the fishermen.
Thanks for this info. Was wondering HOW you could net giant Blue Fin? I live in America, right off of the Gulf of Mexico. ALL Tuna MUST be take by Rod & Reel, NO NETS AT ALL. Just the few months that the off shore fishing was shut down due to CoVid, the Yellow Fin (most popular in this are) doubled in size and are so plentiful you can't help but catch a prize size Tuna.
Good knowledge! I thought they done well 🤣
Thank you for this. I didn't expect my heart to hurt so much when watching this.

And how do you know this ? And why doesn't it state that in the video ? I find what you said, very hard to believe.

Highly labour intensive business, tuna farming. Those divers brave when nets and cables around.
I don't see any farming there - just plundering a natural habitat.

I think this is a farm of tuna. I've seen some in other videos where they harvest their fish.

It's okay to fishing but we are missing the balance and overdoing it
I would worry about taking all the big ones. They spawn with large amounts of eggs.

Everyone this is exactly like chicken farming. These people have these fish in those nets for their entire life. They farm them. Raise them grow them. Harvest them.

That’s a million dollar fish
If thats not a tuna farm, then these people need to go to jail...
Jail be to good for them. They should be rounded up in nets and strung up. That’s not sustainable. Greed of mankind
I think those are farm raised Tuna ..... they are awfully close to land and in such great quantities that I don’t think they are in the wild .... still feel bad for them though.

I hope the goverment will do something to control this kind of over fishing😢
There is no information to go with this video from what I see. So how can anyone assume they are over fishing. They could be well within quotas for where they live. Also, what government are you referring too, these people fishing or some other government?
@@Benglator1 lol let say i assumed but how did you know too that they are not over fishing???don’t you see the way they catch fish is almost they caught the whole school of fish, and do you think tuna will grow in a weeks or months like that???what if they caught most of female tuna who has millions of eggs??? In my country there are cost guard who assigned by the government to take care,if the area need to stop the fishermen to go for fishing, and i know other countries too it depends if the government does not care about the nature.and last don’t you read my comment??? I said “CONTROL” not “STOP!Did you get my point????
@@Cutiekrizzy Your right I dont know so how can YOU know they are over fishing? You don't, there is just not enough info presented to judge one way or the other. Just because you see something that you do not like means it is being done illegally. You even hope the government will do something to stop this over fishing but you do not know if they actually are. I replied to your first statement where you made it clear it is over fishing yet you cant prove it nor can I prove they are not.
I love to eat bluefin tuna. I love sushi. Blue fins are endangered so I try to only eat farmed. Chill the F out Benglator. www.worldwildlife.org/species/bluefin-tuna
@@alexhsu8601 Chill out??? I am not even mad bro. I just pointed out there is not enough info to know what is right or wrong on this video. No one knows except those people who were there. So before ASSUMING as others do......
Blue fin tuna are already endangered and this is just sad. We can’t keep taking it, just because that fish is expensive it seems people doesn’t care if that species go extinct. Some of the fish are really tiny when in average it should be weighing over 600 kg.
It's a farm.they grew them.
@@itsthesmallhats I would like to know the source of your information. The looks more like a sea than big fishery.
@@smarthungyo I think they have breaded them In a big net or something but it’s still overfishing.
Your not so smart hungyo, take a good look.its tuna not a salmon it needed a large space to swim.

Wild or tuna farming.......I'm just like wow....seeing first time
Very delicious first class...
Are these blue fin just as expensive as wild caught instead of farm raised? I know just 1 of those has gone for a million dollars.
It’s more cheap when it’s been caught by a net cause the silver on the skin will be scratched up and that kinda stuff
Good question- the problem with most farmed fish is what they feed it- farm raised salmon are raised on cheap food and taste like a watered down salmon In Thailand they use cheap pellet food to feed their farm raised fish- they don’t taste bad-just kinda tasteless But the Japanese are very particular about the taste of their fish- obviously there is an entire market based on a single fish and every part of it So I would imagine the Japanese are doing everything they can to keep the fish tasting as close to wild as possible- but we’ll never know as they keep their trade secrets-well, secret But I bet they’re pretty close to the taste of wild bluefin- but I’ve never had one-so I can’t say
@@sanstdj2.004 they place some value on the appearance of the fish But net caught tuna are more valuable than line caught- the fight on a line is causing the release of much more stress hormones in the tuna than those caught in a net- a line caught tuna takes dozens of minutes to catch if not hours- net caught tuna are exposed to that stress for much shorter durations
*SWIM DOWN* ... *KEEP SWIMMING* ... *KEEP SWIMMING* ... *KEEP SWIMMING* !!!

This is not ok this the exact reason bluefin are going extinct
These are farmed bluefins.
No they aren't farmed

@@kennethgrimes5494 don't cry when these guys have no profession anymore bc science shows them to be endangered. just because it's been done in the past doesn't mean it's correct when a species survival is at stake.
