Wow!! Big Catch giant bluefin tuna, Net Fishing Tuna, Cutting, Processing in Factory
• Wow!! Big Catch giant ...

  • You have the wrong picture. These tunas are not wild as such, they are grown in the sea inside nets and now is harvesting time. More sustainable than wild fishing as here is controlled how many are grown and how many killed. This is in south Spain and most of it ends up in Japan, creating employment and great economy to the fishermen.

    • Thanks for this info. Was wondering HOW you could net giant Blue Fin? I live in America, right off of the Gulf of Mexico. ALL Tuna MUST be take by Rod & Reel, NO NETS AT ALL. Just the few months that the off shore fishing was shut down due to CoVid, the Yellow Fin (most popular in this are) doubled in size and are so plentiful you can't help but catch a prize size Tuna.

  • Are these blue fin just as expensive as wild caught instead of farm raised? I know just 1 of those has gone for a million dollars.

    • It’s more cheap when it’s been caught by a net cause the silver on the skin will be scratched up and that kinda stuff

    • Good question- the problem with most farmed fish is what they feed it- farm raised salmon are raised on cheap food and taste like a watered down salmon In Thailand they use cheap pellet food to feed their farm raised fish- they don’t taste bad-just kinda tasteless But the Japanese are very particular about the taste of their fish- obviously there is an entire market based on a single fish and every part of it So I would imagine the Japanese are doing everything they can to keep the fish tasting as close to wild as possible- but we’ll never know as they keep their trade secrets-well, secret But I bet they’re pretty close to the taste of wild bluefin- but I’ve never had one-so I can’t say

    • @@sanstdj2.004 they place some value on the appearance of the fish But net caught tuna are more valuable than line caught- the fight on a line is causing the release of much more stress hormones in the tuna than those caught in a net- a line caught tuna takes dozens of minutes to catch if not hours- net caught tuna are exposed to that stress for much shorter durations
