This film was shot in a garage under modest conditions. We used old school visual effects like miniatures and matte paintings to create the vast futuristic landscape. If you are interested to see how we did it, here's the complete playlist: • SLICE OF LIFE: Product...

    • plus there is a pacing with miniature that gives you time to enjoy imagining what living in such a world would be and feel like. and don't get me started with the opening scene, silent dialogue which is interrupted by the first voice we hear ironic, perfectly timed and the cut scene gives us the wide angle close up on the car with the city backdrop. I was sold on the spot. p.s would like to hear about how you did the green text reflection on the actor's face what a detail!

  • Why does Blade Runner stands the test of time and never aged? Because it's all practical. As for CGI if used with parsimony to amplify a little bit good practical effects it will also stand the test of time. And "Slice of Life" will go down in time the same way, in 25 years it will still look amazing today as it did when first released. As for this short film, it's a masterpiece on every level, and as a big fan of the Cyberpunk Aesthetic you captured that world, that city and the mood like bosses. Well done.

Again the tech is amazing but that is the problem today .No good writers I was involved in the same style of production but computer generated animation. It took years to be made but the script and the story were complete crap. • 25:00 minutes well spent!!! That is so awesome and immersive. It was so gripping I can feel the tension. I know what he feels, the amount of hussling he makes just to get out. I know a lot of people who scrambled for money, took on loans that the whole family has to pay off, did sketchy work, just for a chance to migrate oveseas. Sure there's next year, but that's one year you could already have been there. Maybe next year you wouldn't even be around anymore.

    • @@sliceoflifefilm Don't be the one thanking me! I was absolutely blown away. Especially on such a small budget, and the fact that this was the old school technique by huge studios in the late 70s to the 80s is just being replicated and shown off in that small-budget, small studio, and a small crew is crazy! This blew past my expectations of what an independent, KZhead, short film could be. This has to be my favorite short film I've ever seen. So, THANK YOU!
