It is truly brilliant I bet the developers are both beyond happy, and losing their minds at the same time trying to up the server capacity.
They are simultaneously dealing with success beyond their wildest expectations, and what I as an engineer can only describe as a veritable devops nightmare, at the same time. That must be emotionally complicated.

@@ericwalker6477 he cant tell you because we dont know how their structure is. We all dont know. But its not that easy to just scale with more servers, because the database needs to catch up. And theres more around it like the metrics which they are not showing right now. But as i can say they doing a pretty good job. Working under full stress in a live environment while fixing these problems... phew...

There are no server issues only impatient gamers 😂 I loaded it up and they have a nice feature where you don’t have to keep trying to get in manually so you could walk away get some actual work done or have a snack then come back and boom you’re in.

Some tips for everyone: 1. The real weakpoint of a charger is the front legs. Destroy the armor and 5 shotgun shots will kill one, armor can be destroyed with any explosive or 2 railgun shots. For those with the autocannon, shoot the back of the legs and it should kill a charger in ~3 of them. 2. The weakpoint of the spewers are the head, the back takes very little damage (grenade launcher does not care, 2 shots). 3 shotgun shots to the head will usually kill a spewer (green or orange). 3. The crawler bugs (the ones that can survive without a head) are easier to kill by shooting the legs than the head. This is especially true with the brood commander, it can take nearly 2 shotgun mags to kill one by hitting the head (and stump), while 1 mag can kill by shooting the legs with some left over sometimes. There are more tips but as not to have too long of a post, these are the most important ones IMO.
This why the game gets boring it gets easy or dumb hard where your like yeah thats ai for you. there needs to be another human fraction so we can get tdm or something

The reason those chargers were tanking so many hits is that their rears aren't actually weakspots. In fact, according to one of the devs, they take reduced damage from anything without the explosive trait. Instead, you need to strip the armor with a heavy weapon and hit the yellow flesh underneath.
Always have someone bring a recoilless rifle or some other kind of anti-armor heavy shot once you hit hard and above.
I remember reading that it's a 10% vs 100% ratio, and I still find it a bit weird. It would make more sense to me if that was referring to bonus damage, not damage overall. So it would translate to regular firearms dealing 110% damage to weakspots, whereas explosive ones would deal 200%. A weakspot is normally called weak because it takes increased damage overall. That may be the case but I have no proof of any kind. We can see neither HP bars nor damage numbers (and I hope we never will) so I guess at the end of the day it doesn't really matter that much which one it is - just gotta keep in mind that explosive weapons are vastly more effective for those cases.
@@TeeSeal The dev worded it weirdly, but as far as I understand it is bonus damage. So 10% extra damage totaling to 110% while explosive does 200%.
2 Railgun shots to a leg fully strips it, that's my go to method and then one clip from a breaker into leg, sometimes slightly less than a full clip.
I use anti tank 70 sec cool down rather than 480sec
In Helldivers 1 they added planet difficulty levels, up to level 15 "The Inner Circle of Hell". Hopefully they do that again. But at that point you'll have more weapons and vehicels such as player controlled mechs and tanks, more powerful airstrikes etc.. hope they bring all that back

They teased mech. It's obviously is much harder to implement in third person than in top down, but I have faith in this studio.

@@Yiyan81 I think the tricky turning in vehicles was a design choice. So there was a caveat to driving vehicles (often squished teammates or falling to your death if you weren't careful) but you gained the firepower
The rover beaming the hell bomb reminded me of my most cadet moment when I called in a blind airstrike and 3 seconds later it set off a nuke I didn't see killing my entire team except me - they promptly exercised their democratic vote to kick me from the game - Freedom is bittersweet

Love the laser rover because it catches those sudden random attacks from the rear! That we all know can be extremely overwhelming when input is delayed when getting attacked, But really wish they would update the rover and allow it to only activate when you aim at an object, can’t blame them, it can be annoying getting caught in the beam as well inflicting damage on yourself as well as your team. Looking forward to future updates and patches. Lastly also would be nice if we had the option to turn on/off friendly fire to prevent these issues, including a close game/ save option as well!

As a fellow vet from Helldivers 1... I can't wait till they put in the exosuits and vehicles. 🤩 As the pilot of the group, nothing screams freedom quite like twin 20mm Autocannons!
So something i didnt notice till later on with the chargers is their tail isnt actually a weakpoint you can two or 3 shot a charger with a rail gun by shotting the armor off its leg and then after 1 or 2 shots it dies you get an insane damage bonus from shooting them in their legs after blowing of the armor of its legs. Hopefully, this helps other divers like it did me. With the hatchery spewerd and bile spewers its their head at higher difficulties they will have more armor though so bring either rail gun recoiles refile or disposable anti tank
The tails are a weakpoint. It's why they hide it from whoever they are aggro'd on. The flesh under the armor is also a weakpoint though. Thing is you have to blow the armor off first.
I like that they leave this to the community to figure out through sheer experience and observation.
@@Sourwhatupthe glowy bits are not weak points. The weak points are the heads. The chargers weak point are the legs and head behind the armor. However explosives and explosive ammo do double damage on the glowy parts. For example, it's like the bot's AT-ST: the legs are the "weak point" like the glowy bits, but the real weak point is the dude piloting it or the head for bugs.

As a devops engineer myself, I agree with you. They've absolutely gone above and beyond into the weekend to try and stabilize things for now. As we come into a full work week where this can be their singular priority, they'll make big progress in the next few days. I'm hard-pressed to say everything will be 100% fixed, but they'll be far better going into next weekend.

To give people a little perspective, Helldivers 1 had a maximum concurrent player count of around 6600 players on Steam and this was with the game being released for years and multiple free weekends. Meanwhile Helldivers 2 has had over to 336,000 concurrent players the 1st week after release. There's no way they could have expected their game to be this popular comparatively.
Yeah it's crazy how people still don't understand that the devs had no idea just how big this game was gonna be and there wasn't any possible way they could have predicted getting so many players the servers got maxed out but yet there are “UGHHh the devs are dumb and this game is ruined” or my favorite “Ughh its all the PC people, Sony should just shut down the PC access and only let us true fans enjoy the game on pS5” but thankfully those people seem to be few and far between
even player cant expect the game blow up like this. Trailers and such have average views, launch day is not too success with the servers issues, they release some small hotfixes to at least make the game playable, sleep 1 night and open their computer just to find out their game beat every games and on top 1 of the most played game on steam and players count continue to go up. Cant blame the devs for this.

This game is the best shooter I have played since bf1 in it's prime. Hats off to ya Arrowhead. Still play the Magika series to this day, and they applied their zany antics to a shooter and i am blown away.

That reason is cheaters and they seem far too slow to deal with them which sucks even more fun out of the game. The game is also meh imo but again thats my opinion. But the first reason is a huge one to not even bother at all

That’s a very cool balance mechanic where you can kill a boss with your respawn.
That was a thing also on the first game. In fact any of your drop downs can and will squash any poor sap under it once it hits the dirt
If the target is marked it makes it so much easier to see them and do consistantly.
Games realistic in that sense. Same with why Map can't be on all the time. Once you run you can't look at your wrist.

A tip for anyone struggling with bile titans, 1 the orbital lazer strategem works really well, and 2 if you wait for them to open thier mouth then launch a recoiless or anti tank into the mouth you can do a lot of damage. 3 the auto cannon turret deos a lot of damage to them as well. I finally was able to beat level 3 and 4 difficulty. Killed 3 titans now and slowly know how to fight against different enemies. And then I look at your vids, when I'm not playing XD
Me and my mates have found a work around for some of the connection issues. If there’s 1 person on your friends list that has made it in you can join game from your desktop through steam. It’s a bit glitchy (as there’s a black screen a not working loading bar with background music) but it works 90% of the time. From there if you can’t see them in the social tab, using the steam overlay to join or invite a friend to effectively brute force your way through will fix it. There’s a myriad of other bugs when the servers are over capacity I.e. mission rewards not syncing but a restart of your game will fix that
THe game is suffering from its success right now. When they fix the server issues and matchmaking being broken this game is a straight-up banger!

I remember when played the first one at the time where the ps4 launched, had so many funny moments and I instantly knew Helldivers 2 is gonna be HUGE. Im thrilled whats to come, in the end-phase of the first Helldivers you could even drive APCs and Tanks!! Fyi they also confirmed the beloved Mechs in their latest trailer ;)
Something that can't be stressed enough is how well HD2 handles difficulty. Instead of turning enemies into damage sponges on higher levels like so many games do, they rather throw more of them at you.
Unfortunately, it so happens that they spam bullet sponges at you so they may as well have done the exact same thing that most games did but even more frustrating.

@@OrionDawn15 All the tanky enemies in this can be brought down with the right weapons and tactics (or dropping stratagems on them). I agree the charger-spam can get silly (I'd rather see more warriors etc) but even they go down fast if the legs are targeted with AP.
@@OrionDawn15 The point is, there aren't really bullet sponges in this game. Even Bile Titans can be killed relatively quickly if you know how.
@@Riccolino. I mean they spawn in high tier enemies *very* frequently, and those enemies tend to be pretty tanky. Yes, there are methods to deal with them. But easier said than done.

Dont start game nomally. At home screen drop down and click on join your friend on friends list or if no friends to play with same area go on quick play. It will start game, go on black screen but just wait. You will get in. I promise

it leans into it but saying this is a silly argument given that starship troopers back in the days was one of the pivotal influencing books for science fiction in general. Everything in science fiction is influenced from starship troopers. Power Armor e.g. is from this novel, so are "bugs" so are "drop pods"

If it's not been mentioned before, you want something explosive or armor piercing to deal with chargers. Their "weak" spot on the back takes reduced damage from non-explosive sources; if you use anti-armor weapons to knock the armor off their front legs, **all** weapons deals massive damage to the exposed flesh beneath.

My favorite part about this game is how you can't ever play because the servers are overloaded. It's really fun to stare at a screen telling you that it's going to retry in 30 seconds. Really gets the blood flowing.
Railgun support weapon is a beast against bugs, pretty sure it can pierce targets too, to an extent. The orbital rail cannon can 1 shot chargers and deals massive damage to bile titans.

It’s a great game, my mates and I love it. The environments change from day and night, they look absolutely beautiful too, the game play is smooth and very fun to play as well.

Two quick tips: If you see the shield icon when you shoot a bug, you are doing _no_ damage. Not reduced, but no damage at all. Those fat tick-looking bile spewer bugs are actually easier to kill with headshots. The green ones at higher difficulties have head armor though and require medium armor penetration to headshot.
