  • No gasket replacement, no bearing oil, no tube replacement, No paint Primer, No masking, No proper assembly with correct tools, No torque checking, use of open spanner on spark plug. 10/10 for effort though, most people would not even think about doing a restoration like this. He even successfully got and fitted the correct parts for ignition and got the engine running. Hats off in admiration.

  • Just for curiosity..did anybody see him replace any parts. .I think its what we call a .deluxe rebuild..pull it down and paint it .hope for the best 🤣🤣

    • Really not worth putting money into this engine. I looked up the specs on it and it puts out a grand total of 4 HP and 4.5 Lb/f torque at 5000 RPM, or with the reduction gearbox, 2000 RPM and 11 Lb/f of torque. The engine is so detuned and underpowered that none of the parts see any sort of significant load.

    • Robin original colours are all yellow/black. I've had a small Robin 650 generator since 1992 and it's never let me down.

  • good job but some errors: you should not paint the interior parts of the engine because paint will soon became dirt, mask the holes with masking tape or paper. and I should also use an anti-rust primer before painting. Hope also the paint you used is heat-resistant. Last but not least it would have been better to replace piston rings. that's all, keep going!! 👍👍👍

    • You forgot to say about new seals and gasket between the two halves of the crankcase. This guy has no idea what he's doing. I don't know how the engine runs without the crankcase gasket.

  • He did a an excellent job of taking this engine apart and cleaning all the parts and painting it. As far as restoring it? Not so much. No new parts, and he didnt torque anything!!! Looks nice though. And yeah I have to agree with another gentlemen on here. That motor was mechanically sound before he took it apart. It has just sat outside for a good while. But like I said, he did one heckuva job cleaning and painting it.

  • Это не реставрация, а разборка с чисткой и покраской. Только вот, зачем красить корпус воздушного фильтра вместе с фильтром - я не понял. Хотя уже можно было догадаться, что будет рукожопство после того как увидел фейковость посылки из ЕМС, типа, где коробка вся скотчем обычным склеена.

  • Согласен с Виктором! Наглядный пример как нельзя делать. Покраска кое как, подшипники и сальники не заменил, бензобак внутри не вычистил, карбюратор тоже. Уровень культуры производства в Китае.

  • This, of course, is great, but I did not see the process of finding defects. Measurement of ovality of the cylinder and piston or replacement of piston rings and connecting rod bearings, measurement of compression. It seems to me logical when the engine is completely disassembled. Why put the worn out parts back. This is my personal opinion.

    • Agree with you completely. I think he was just making a video rather than reconditioning an engine . Two strokes need new crank seals , piston rings, small end rod bearings as absolute minimum for just a cheap job. But maybe the video paid more than the “repair”. Made it look good though.
