  • Spray-painting valve faces and inside bearing assemblies ? Did one pack all the bearings too ?? Replace capacitor / condenser , points ?? Just seems a bit odd, yet let's see how things work out.

    • IKR? You don't want to paint the cooling fins either. Screws up the heat transfer. It'll probably just burn off, like the valve tops.

    • I refer to painting appropriate surfaces more to retard corrosion or rust. Agree with you that appropriate heat-sinking surfaces do NOT paint.@@scottbilger9294

  • Excellent job! Am always amazed by the detail that it takes to restore and build machines. Am more amazed at the ability of someone opening up the machine repairing parts and remembering where everything came from and how to put it back without missing a single nut or screw to me that is magic! But I guess that is what training does but am still amazed!

    • The best part is knowing you can find a PDF of the engine/motor manual and it will show you diagrams of every piece and how it looks taken apart and where to put it when puzzling it back together.

  • eine sehr schöne und sehr gut gelungene arbeit. nur schade, dass beim lackieren über kabel, schläuche, leitungen und auch noch über knöpfe und buchsen gnadenlos alles überlackiert wurde. da hätte sich der mechaniker mehr zeit dafür nehmen sollen. dann wäre es auch eine wirkliche restaurierung geworden. für die wiederherstellung in einen funktionsfähigen zustand aber doch eine anerkennende leistung!

  • I have a robin Subaru 8kw generator. It has the 10.5 hp. ( been in the mechanics shop awhile (complicated). If anyone has any history on this unit I would love to know more. Also would appreciate hearing about parts availability. Thx Ken Canada.
