The reference to Pac is not about rapping like them style wise, it’s about callin’ it like it is. Biggie rapped about street slangin’, Em dropped beats about growing up “white trash”, and Pac rapped about the truth in songs like Dear Mama. Tom speaks truth like they did. It’s not about style, it’s about the context of the lyrics.

Funny how deciding what wave to ride (surfer terminology) can sometimes really backfire. I think a lot of Eminem supporters were not just disappointed, but really kind of angry at his sudden movement into a position where backlash was eminent. I don't know...if he is so passionate about making a political statement a part of who he is, so be it. But, it was unexpected given who he is and where he has come from. Personally, I find his actions a bit disingenuous...and almost desperate in nature. For the life of me, I don't know why he was compelled to take the road that he did. I was at least a passive fan before all of that. I don't know where I stand now.
