It’s pink, pudgy, and super rare! In this video the crew travels over 12,000 miles so Mark Vins can try to accomplish a childhood dream of catching the pink creature from down under - the one and only Turtle Frog.
Chapters:
00:00 - A Turtle Frog!
01:40 - Start the search
03:53 - Found a Frog
04:56 - Getting Close
06:04 - We Found It
This video is groundbreaking because it is the first high-quality video ever filmed of this truly bizarre animal that can only be found in Western Australia a few days a year.
Big thanks to Max from Australian Wildlife Encounters. We have been working with Max and Lockie from AWE for years, and I'm proud to say it is their dedication to surveying for wildlife that has led to once in a lifetime moments like in this video. You guys are the best!
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REENACT OR RECREATE ANY EVENTS OR SCENES  FROM OUR VIDEOS. THE ANIMALS, INSECTS, PLANT LIFE, AND TERRAIN FEATURED IN  OUR VIDEOS CAN BE DANGEROUS AND CAN POSE A SIGNIFICANT RISK. Mark Vins and crew are professionally trained and routinely  receive assistance from wildlife experts, guides, and safety personnel when filming to  ensure the safety of our crew and all wildlife. No wildlife was harmed or removed from their habitats to make this video.

    • That’s another funny thing about the turtle frog. All the other normal-looking frog species in southwest Australia produce all manner of weird unfroglike calls - you hear sounds at night like sad moaning, motorbike engines, or someone plucking a banjo. Then you have the turtle frog, the strangest looking frog imaginable, yet it produces a mundane stereotypical frog “croak”.

  • Animals have fascinated me for over 60 years ! It is even more astonishing to discover new species now and surprising to better see known species already photographed but difficult to film and which still need to be studied in more detail. Provided that we can preserve them in their country and their original ecosystems!

  • Mark, this video genuinely came out excellent. It did a very good job balancing aspects of older BW wildlife adventure content while also being fast pace and more fit for modern KZhead. You are definitely on the right track with this one, and if y'all keep targeting very unique animals to introduce to your audience, I guarantee it'll be great. WELL DONE :D

    • Asian banded bullfrog can qualified. Despite of the name it doesn't related to american bullfrog nor resemble it. It just so round with small head (actually plenty of burrowing frogs oddly have such appearance too. Smol head and round body)

They only live in that one, small part of Australia, only come above ground when it rains and won't come out even then unless it's nighttime... Pretty doggone specific little dude.
