  • It is absolutely INSANE that he is now featured as one of the “heroes” in Netflix’s Breakpoint S2. These allegations that are still ongoing are completely swept under the rug by the ATP/Netflix. Clearly a 1 year ban is too light for what he did at Mexico. His apology afterwards in the media was more of a mockery and completely lacked contrition. Now he makes an issue out of nothing with Medvedev at Monte Carlo 2023. And if there’s not enough evidence to to accuse person, then he or she is innocent even if you don’t like him/her. Or there is an extreme opposite example - something like North Korea where those who have power ruin lives of those they don't like for some reason. Do you want to live in that kind of society?

  • I had to come back to this video because it was your channel that introduced me to Alexander Zverev's domestic issues. On Wednesday 1st Nov 2023, Zverev was fined £400K for abuse in a German court case. He has blocked the new accuser ex- ex-model girlfriend from contacting the other accuser, which doesn’t surprise me. The ATP must take action against him due to the fines and if he is found guilty. From the sounds of things, these girls were forced to accompany him during his tournaments.

  • This is absolute hackery of the worst kind, and the comments section is just filled with people jumping on the bandwagon, showing contempt for a person accused with no evidence, other than he’s thrown a couple of tantrums on court. Oh dear, a 24 year old was a prick a few times and lost his temper. This whole video is narrated as though it were known fact, occasionally throwing in a muted, token reminder that it is act the version of the story that Sharapova sold to a magazine, rather than the appropriate authority. There has been one court case on this matter and the court found in favour of Zverev. So many people are commenting that this case is under reported elsewhere, congratulating the creator of this video for highlighting it, and accusing the mainstream media of ignoring it or lacking the spine to print it. A better explanation is that the credibility of newspapers, TV news etc, is partly attributable to their journalistic standards and ethics. Most outlets won’t accuse Zverev, or pronounce judgement as to his guilt, because they (as the law requires) must assume innocence until proof of guilt. They also have to be far more careful not to libel or slander a member of the public. No such restrictions can be applied to a virtually anonymous KZhead creator, and especially not to the legions of commenters who don’t let their own lack of facts or evidence get in the way of their outrage, adjudicating the case, narrating their own speculative version of events as though it were the established truth and pronouncing arbitrary judgement. And now, a young man must live his life with the label of domestic abuser, despite there having been no conclusion as such from police investigation, no official accusation or charge and therefore no verdict rendered. There’s a reason the law works the way it does, and that’s to protect people from mob justice, which is too often driven by emotion and not hard evidence.

  • It’s so unfortunate, but bruising and Olya’s testimony alone is just not sufficient evidence. I believe her story, but a more thorough investigation is needed. The ATP and the justice system have clearly failed to perform this. I see some people using Zverev’s behavior on court as argument for possible violence towards Olya. That argument makes no sense. I’ve played tennis my whole youth and have destroyed some rackets, but physically and mentally hurting a woman does not even cross my mind. Aggression on an object is not comparable to abuse of a person.

    • @derek You're conflating two things - ensuring safety for a potential victim of abuse, and punishing a supposed perpetrator of abuse. She should be afforded, certainly, the ability to leave the relationship safely. There is absolutely no ethical grounds to punish a person merely upon unsubstantiated allegations. Relevantly, the fact that when confronted with his father present, she was he one who refused to leave, and the father said he has evidence she had punched him, makes me doubt her story, and wonder whether she is the abuser (or if, at least, it was a mutually abusive relationship). But likewise, I don't call for her to be punished - if anything is to be done, it is by law enforcement and courts and their investigation, not extrajudicial agents (such as tennis associations). I hope you're watching the Depp vs. Heard trial currently ongoing.

  • The court of public opinion is not the one in which we should put anyone on trial. I know the allegations are very bad, but I believe in fair trails and I want the evidence to be subject to some level of scrutiny that a proper criminal justice court is bound to do. Media always wants their stories and has a tendency to print/publish anything that gives them more views. The more bigger the story/claims, the better for their bottom line. Also, why not hire a lawyer and go to court with the evidence? It isn't neither the ATP's job, nor within ATP's capability to establish the truth of those claims. For example, ATP doesn't have the power to subpoena security cam footage, telephone records, to get to the truth. If Zverev is proven guilty in any court of law, by all means take all the necessary disciplinary actions.
