Also all that happened in Belgrade and is not relevant to this case. Spain travel is relevant to the case but it is not enough to decline visa. Other stuff is fine.

On the other hand, science is all about doubt and questioning everything, but if you believe politicians and people that never heal you (they are always healing you) without any doubt and even without testing something that's entering your body then it tells a lot about your understanding of science, history and the world in general.

Just an interesting FYI: Over their respective careers, Rafa Nadal has missed a total of 11 Grand Slam Tournaments due to injuries, while Novak Djokovic has only missed two, one of which being this year's AO.
While true, Monica Seles only lost a few tournaments due to injury, but 12 due to the stabbing hiatus. Injuries are part of the sport, pandemics and assaults are not.

Considering the fact that Australians that want to enter victoria have to be vaccinated, it made sense to cancel his visa it would send a bad signal to the rest of the country.
That's not true and was not true at the time either. Victoria dropped its travel pass and vaccine requirement for domestic travellers in December 2021, in time for Christmas.

Many Australians can't come home unless they are vaccinated, it'd disheartened the population if a tennis star was able to bypass that.

@@hirendrall7215 the paperwork he filed said he found out about the positive result on 16th December 8 pm. He claims he came to know he was Covid positive only after meeting the kids. FYI it's standard for everyone worldwide and in some places mandatory to do soft quarantine while awaiting test results and most importantly he never tols anyone, be the company arranging the kids meet or the reporter he met after knowing he had tested positive for covid. His behavior and attitude with covid has been abhorrent. He should've been punished by ATP for that disastrous Adria Tour. Yet he didn't even get a slap on the wrist. He is the Margaret Court of men's tennis. Great tennis player but very questionable human being and not very liked.
@@kunalm15 The paper said that the result came out positive on 16th December 8pm-lab time. That doesn't mean he knew the results right away. Yes he should have been punished for the Adaria tour. He shoud be punished in Serbia because he went to the events even though he tested negative for the antigen test. The antigen test aren't accurate so he should have waited for the PCR test. All this has nothing to do with banishment from Australia because his deportation letter is not made on an charecter certificate(that though was possible and could have made a better argument against Novak). The reason the Immigration cites is- Even though Djokovic has followed the Australian rules correctly and even though he is medical exemption is valid i want him out because people might perceive him to be antivax, and that might increase antivax sentiment and therfore lead to civil unrest. The official reason is not about Novak( he says Novak is good) its about what Australians might perceive of him and that might cause civil unrest. He doesn't state that being antivax is a bad thing, he just says that being a person of that symbol might cause civil unrest which isn't good.

In the NBA, Irving can't even play home games because of this rule and many superstars have missed out on games when they play in certain cities due to contracting COVID. There still a lot of sketchy information that is not part of this commentary -- Australian government telling Tennis Australian twice that vaccination was mandatory; the application for the medical exemption was due on 2021/12/10 but Djokovic didn't submit until 2021/12/16; Djokovic shown not isolating before while in Serbia after his positive test and before going to Spain. This will probably get worse before it gets better.
Not to mention the sham medical exemption review board/process. That Tennis Australia set up to “independently” review medical exemptions for non vaccination solely set up to grant djokovic an exemption to play in the tournament without vaccination

Of course the Australian government decided to also cancel the visas of another player and a linesperson that had already been in the country for a while, because their exemptions were also due to recent infections.

Fact checks, 4:14 , bottom left and photo with kids was 1 day early than what this video states, also, Djokovic is not against vaccination, he is against mandates to be vaccinated. If you got your translation right, you would know this is what he said in that interview.

Didn’t he get a letter from the Australian tennis association backed by the county government in Victoria before he came? Kind of shows the rules weren’t followed by Australia. The minister also said he did not pose any significant risk. This was a political hit job.

Australian tennis association is not Australian government. Australia has state governments and federal governments. The state of Victoria allowed him in, but the federal border agents didnt.

How can you take a lateral flow test and then leave the house before seeing the results when most of these *rapid* antigen tests display results within 15 minutes or less. He must have sprinted straight out of there
He probably lied about the positive result. It was negative, he probably even got the result before leaving his house.
The video is incorrect about his testing. He took two rapid antigen-tests, which both came back negative prior to the event with kids on the 17th. On the 16th, he took a PCR-test. This is the test of which he claims that he first saw the results after the event. Sounds plausible to me. I just had Covid last week and I got a negative antigen test and positive PCR test. I have heard recently that antigen tests are significantly worse at detecting Omcron, which was what Djokovic had.
@@benjaminpedersen9548 Sounds like the truth. I catched Omicron too, and when I tested with Antigen the first day when I felt very sick, it came back negative. A few days later when I felt much better and needed the test for exam participation I finally tested positive. Even better: My sister was sick too so she tested with a PCR. It came back negative first. After a few days she gets another email from the laboratory, correcting the result to positive. This is all a mess.

I took it at face value, because I have no evidence against it and I find that while Djokovic sometimes keeps information for himself, he is honest with what he shares. I know some say that he is lying about injuries and what not, but I have never seen evidence to support that. If you are about to say that he lied on his visa application rather than made a mistake, first answer the question: 1) What reason could he possibly have had to be dishonest about his whereabouts before going to Australia?
It was not Judge Kelly who heard the final appeal, but a Full Bench of the Federal Court, including the Chief Justice. Djokovic still got preferential treatment - how often does the Chief Justice turn up for a hearing on a Sunday morning?

Great video -- as always. (8:27) Djokovic never apologized in the social media post on 2022/01/12. The only reference to an apology is when his Agent (not him) "sincerely apologises for the administrative mistake in ticking the incorrect box" in his travel documents.
Which is stupid enough to start off with because legally you have to declare your own forms unless you're travelling as a minor with a supervising adult or have an intellectual disability (which I shall assume neither apply to Novak)

Great video. There is some contention regarding the timing of his tests, whereby the serial number on his Dec 16 test is higher than his subsequent, negative test on Dec 22.
Just a few important political points to consider: -Why did Asstralia's PM get involved in this? Definetly not to justify Orwellian measures he has been enforcing on his citizens, definetly not becasue elections were in few months time. Politicians wanted to score some election points by displaying to their herd how, depicted in mainstream media as "elitist" (complete rubbish claim), even super famous athletes must "follow the rules" and are punished if they dont. The punishment part was the most important as Australians experienced totalitarian lockdowns it was not hard to play with their anger and frustration. -Asstralia had 100k covid cases a day in january and one of the highest vaccination rates. As we determined Djokovic did test positive for covid and apparently the virus had no effect on him (as expected for a super healthy, rich and young athlete) so public health threat claims were unfounded. -Using a dubious authority measure, which exists to deport ideologically undesirable people (like communists), to deport a tennis player as a "public threat" is insane.

Djokovic falls into category A. You get vaccinated to immitate natural immunity otherwise acquired by contracting the virus. Therefore, there is virtually no immunological difference between vaccination and recovery. PS Both vaccinated and recovered people could transmit virus, although probably less likely.

By October 2021 the ATP players vaccinated were below 50%. After mandating/forcing it on the players, it became 97%. This should show you that it is not a case of 97% want to be vaccinated. Rather, that they are forced to get the jab if they want to provide financially for themselves.
Nobody is entitled to play in any tournament. Countries are sovereign entities and they have a right to enforce laws and create rules. The problem is that tennis players play on 5 different continents in dozens of countries. Atp has nothing to do with it, but countries having their own laws. Dubai does not require vaccination for non UAE citizens for example, or Sweden for non Swedish citizens. Its not just for tennis players but for anyone going abroad.

Adopting the sane choice of opposing forced vaccination unfortunately entails less food on the table for them and their families.
