My God, he captured the primal nature of the place so perfectly. I got a tatoo there to remind me of the most beautiful place I had ever visited in the whole world. Wonderful film. • Historical factoid. If anything, Bligh's tragic fault was that he was too easy on his crew in Tahiati , it was a long voyage out , but only half finished, he still had to transport the plants to the West Indies, so he gave his crew maximum time ashore, relaxed discipline, then had to bare down underway again. He was exonerated, by his court martial but sternly reprimanded. He eventually was given command of a ship of the line under Nelson at the Battle of Copenhagen. Restored his career and retired as Governor General of New Zealand.

  • Thank you. A thousand times thank you for this beautiful soundtrack of Vangelis, a genius among geniuses. I loved this film ''TheBounty'', I watched it for first time 3 weeks ago at my current 34 years. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the film, actors, characters and music. Gosh... I wish films like this were made again. The majority of good ones are in the past decades. It makes me want to cry 😢 Newer film directors and industry don't fulfill my expectations. Mainly INDUSTRY, because several times good directors and excellent screen writers want to make a good movie but can't, don't receive the money for their project because it's not ''mainstream'' or aimed at younger, consumerist silly audiences.

      @joebombero1@joebombero12 жыл бұрын
    • @@joebombero1 old movies from France and Soviet movies are good but Modern Russian movies are awful, even in Russia they're disliked, I mean just propaganda state films like Tourist (2021) and Stalingrad and T-42, very dull grey films and even shitty superhero ripoff like Guardians .Modern Russian state doesn't allow as much for experimentation like the older Soviet films (even if they were often banned in the past too), like White Sun of the Desert, Stalker, War and Peace (60s), even Battleship Potemkin, Come and See, Ballad of a Soldier. India has a thriving modern movie industry, and most of Europe still is also working hard to support independent film, plenty French-language movies lately that have been beloved, and not just critics but audiences too. Lots more bigger international films now, so there's so many countries making great movies now with bigger budgets and support than they might've in the past. Also I have to point out that great movies are still made in the Hollywood sphere they just tend to be independent, or smaller obscurer films that the big studios kind of neglect to market. South Korea works hard to promote good original filmmakers, and Hollywood used to, even in the early to mid 2010s there were brilliant big mainstream original movies, in the past years its gotten so bad.

      @GuineaPigEveryday@GuineaPigEveryday7 ай бұрын
    • I appreciate that you point out its the industry's fault, I see so many goddamn comments just shitting on modern movies and blaming writers/directors, and laying the blame on 'wokeism' for killing movies. The industry and corporations killed modern Hollywood and sucked the life out of it and so few directors get a chance now, only big veteran directors like Scorcese/Spielberg/Mann/Fincher/Villeneuve ever get the chance, the budget, and the studio-backing to make big original projects. Its a shame people dismiss the writers strike because of how bad recent movies have been, its not those writers fault for getting paid below minimum wage in unstable job positions with no time given, just like VFX artists are given jackshit, and most actors aren't rich they're working in the background increasingly replaced by CGI.

  • Great soundtrack, it just washes over you. Vangelis a genius. You can hear the Bladerunner soundtrack coming through. This film has an amazing cast. Hopkins could have dialed it back a bit, and made the Bligh character perhaps more realistic, more identifiable, but it would have negatively impacted Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon's careers. The real Bligh definitely had a sarcastic streak. But Christian is, in the filmaker's view, the villian. Love the way the music swells as the verdict is read out. Did Christian do enough to support his friend, Bligh? He seemed to regard Bligh as his social inferior. My favorite line. "The Royal Navy is not a humorous institution."in

  • A soundtrack is truly phenomenal not only when it is enjoyable independently from the film, or serves to enhance the excitement of watching the movie, but when it's also used as a narrative device. Akin to the way John William's and LOTR soundtracks are well known for their themes, and weaving in a character/story arc into how the music is played or unfinished. This movie has just a wonderful way of suddenly creeping up at you, and with this loud boom marking the beginning of a track, but also an important character moment. Like when they arrive at Tahiti, and you see Fletcher 'going native' and falling love, or at a certain dialogue between Fletcher and Bligh when the former starts to foment resentment towards his captain, and the score marks this significant shift.

  • From 17:10 for me it's the perfect soundtrack for a film of a cryptozoological beast, perhaps mokele mbembe, which could be still living somewhere in likouala swamp.

  • Este es unos de los álbumes de Vangelis tipo "ambientación" que son ideales para poner de fondo mientras se está dibujando o pintando, la calidad de audio de CD original se siente todo el tiempo, gracias por subirlo...

  • This is my favorite soundtrack by Vangelis, and it's sadly the least known. It's not even available on Pandora, although the other soundtracks are. Oh, well. Don't mind coming back here occasionally.

  • The language of frequency and haunting familiar echoes of light language coming through give me chills. I heard this as a child, and music as it speaks many languages of the many of us conducted by light Feel this beyond words like time.

  • I was listening to a different Vangelis album this morning, and the link to this popped up in my feed. You have NO idea of how long I've been searching for this complete soundtrack! Being an avid Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins fan from way back, I saw this film in the theater when it was initially released, and went in search for the soundtrack....with no luck. For YEARS, I've been unable to find a complete compilation of it. Bits and pieces here an there, but no full soundtrack. This soundtrack and the Blade Runner soundtracks were holy grails of mine. (I finally got the Blade Runner soundtrack a number of years back). So may i just say a heartfelt THANK YOU for posting this! I had no idea that this was out there. And by any chance, do we know who did the cover art? It's incredible.
