The term "Pacific Theater" is a misnomer used in American Media at the time to gloss over the fact that the US was involved in two separate wars. The US Armed Forces however had several theaters for both the European Front (Italian, France, etc) and the Pacific War (Burmese, Guadalcanal, etc).
@back2bother you Russia only declared war on Japan right before they surrendered, dumbass. The US practically did all the work in the Pacific. Hell, not even many Europeans got involved there. There was British Singapore, and I think Australia too, but definitely not Russia, not near as much as the US.

@@SilverState99 adding on, the infrastructure and thus supply is bad in both places (unless the Soviets built the trans Siberian railway) but Siberia has larger single providences making capture seem faster. And the defense of a smaller area is easier, mountains help as well, this is why China is always a slog to fight through in hoi4 and South America isn't much better.
Note that the Amazon starts with zero infrastructure. Brazil didn't get it's nuts kicked in till the states took chili's ports

The axis really ruins it because they fought each other, if they didn't fought each other, and just focus on the US, the rest of the world might hold out against US army.
The Factions mechanic separated the axis and allies. Yes both were fighting the states but they weren't actual allies in practice allowing germany's focus tree be there downfall.
