Kenyan runner Willy Mnangat has said he let China’s He Jie win the Beijing Half Marathon, explaining he did it “because he is my friend”. The end of the 21km (13-mile) race on April 14, 2024, caused uproar online as suspicions were aroused about the leading runners, all from Africa, appearing to let He overtake them.

They’re exposing the fact that they’re not allowed to win bozo! If he didn’t make those gestures, people here would be arguing that the Chinese dude won fair and square. But their behavior and gestures is how you know it’s one of the matches where they’re threatened just when the match starts not to defeat their Chinese opponents. It happens in their boxing a lot too! These people come for balanced game and just at the last minute before the game start, they’ll be told that they’re not allowed to be victorious over the Chinese opponent at the end. Happened to a friend of mine. He had no idea they would do that till the last minute.
Maybe they also not happy to lose in this manner, thus purposely showing the obvious for everyone to see.

Chinese runner is showing signs of exhaustion while the other three are still fresh. The African runners are able to converse during the run, while the Chinese runner is barely able to keep up. I live in |ndia. Everything is miserable here, but no one dares to complain. For one thing, I am young and unemployed. You see, resources are limited and with people breeding like bhaRAT while competing for resources without knowing birth control, which is a problem of our own making, and with a land mass size 1/3 of China but having the same population, the population density of |ndia is 3 times as much as China which means that there are at least 3 times more severe overcrowding and hungry people in |ndia than in China. That is why bhaRAT has the largest slum in the entire world, Mumbai, and our Global Hunger Index ranking is top tier, starting from the bottom rank. We have no toilets and no clean drinking water and that is why we defecate openly in 597 million and became the world #1 open toilet (UNICEF). I don't know what is the real reason behind it but my assumptions gonna be they let him win because China has done a lot for African nations. I think they let him because of that as token of gratitude. of course it just my speculation. as for is it possible for Asian to beat African, i think it's possible i mean Su Bingtian already prove it but in this case there's 3 person behind him and they feel like they running with no efforts.
What has China done? In the 10 yrs since Chinese interest in Africa increased all our economies are worse off, military coups are springing up yearly and our currencies are collapsing in value. Emigration is increasing causing a massive brain drain.
The chinese runner finished 4th in the marathon just before this half one, so he did beat a lot of african runner indeeds (without surprise, the top3 were african as well!). And one of the african runner was his official pacer in that previous race, they trained a lot together, possible he didn't defend/try to win, to let He Jie win his first half marathon in his home country (he just start his career unlike the others). I really doubt that someone "paid to lose" will wave a guy to pass him at the finish line, he would probably just pretend to be hurt or something
