Something about Vergil saying "your incompetence" is just odd to me. Dante beats Vergil because Vergil is putting lives at risk and Vergil fucks up with the whole Sparda power thing. Then Dante defeats Mundus (And Vergil again). Then Dante helps Nero to defeat the Order and the Savior. Then when the world is all A-Okay... Vergil does a stupid and puts the world at Risk again. Then HE goes to Dante for help... and later says "your incompetence". The fuck, Vergil? Your whole life has been one long fuck-up.
@Unethical.Dodgson Жыл бұрын
Dmc 5's lack of self awareness when it comes to characters reaches unprecedented levels. The insanely dumb moral lecture by Nero towards the end of the game, the trivializing of Dante trying to stop Vergil's genocidal rampage as mere 'sibling rivalry', the face heel turn of how everyone treats Vergil and the inconsistencies in his character and what not. People like to wank the writing but it's a steaming mess when you take even a cursory look at how things are supposed to make sense. The worst part is that Itsuno's favouritism for Nero and Vergil is blatant and Dante becomes the punching bag for no damn reason. Dude was ready to sacrifice himself to save Nero and the world and the way he's thanked is by getting insulted and physically abused. Dude has the patience of a saint to be putting up with a family like that. Lmao
@omegafinity9810 Жыл бұрын
@@omegafinity9810 The way I see it. In DMC5. When Dante learns that Vergil is back: He makes absolutely no effort whatsoever to reason with him or to stop him via other means. He just jumps in and tries to kill him outright. Now I get it. Vergil has basically pulled a big phallic object out of the ground twice now. That's kinda 2 strikes and you're out. Nero though thinks that if he just beats both of them up then he gets to tell them that they shouldn't fight anymore. The rule of the strong. But it doesn't work that way in real life. Still... Dante has kinda been shit for quite a few games. The only time I liked Dante as a character was in DMC1. DMC3 Dante was kindof a cunt but he was young and was going through the trauma of having to fight his brother, y'know? So I get it. But Dante hasn't been done well at all since. Nero's motivations make sense. He doesn't have to be smart and he doesn't have to have good reasons for stopping the fighting. But he wants to stop it himself. Neither Dante nor Vergil can win without killing each other. In fact, removing Dante and Vergil from the human world altogether might have been the one thing they needed. Especially Vergil who never fit in anyway. But when we analyze any DMC game to this degree... the writing is always stupid. There's always a better way the characters could have acted if they were written realistically... but it's not a realistic series. So just take it as a bit of anime-shounen type of fun and not try to take it too seriously. But we can totally still say that Dante isn't really loved anymore. Edit: as silly as the game is. At least it's not DMC2. A game that was not only not written well in the slightest but also failed to be fun at all.
@Unethical.Dodgson Жыл бұрын
The whole problem of this reply lin is following the game as a realistic narrative, see the game and the way the characters evolve doesnt follow our realism rules but its own, Im not saying its perfectly written, however if we think on a world tht has different rules than ours putting our perspective in its always going to be a bit off lets remember that while they are part human they also have a domon side and that and the world being a mess most of the time does change behaviours and what not. Applying realistic narrative rules to their bhaviour is like trying to apply gravity on the moon like in earth, it its exist but works and behves on a whole different degree. Its called verisimilitude sticking to the own universe rules not to realistic rules, those are most of the time completely different sets of rules that just by being similar on our eyes we mix up specially in narratives that happn to be fantasy.
@EstebanBrenesV Жыл бұрын
@@EstebanBrenesV So basically what you seem to be describing is internal consistency. Are the characters consistent given the rules of their own universe? Well... Nero certainly seems to be. There's a reason for everything he does. They might not be good reasons but they're his. Dante... I struggle to work out. He seems to bounce back and forward a lot in his characterization. I feel like it's just not really knowing what to do with him. Vergil... He never really was an 'evil antagonist'. So his 'redemption' isn't exactly out of the question. That what you mean?
@Unethical.Dodgson Жыл бұрын
I mean it's the same old tropey goofball vs serious rivalry that has been immensely successful with Goku/Vegeta and Naruto/Sasuke. In the end the goofball factually demonstrates to be vastly more competent than the "serious" rival. The rival then after a string of moronic decisions and getting his ass beat a million times still belittles the other because that's their dynamic that is immutable. It's not Shakespeare but people love it so it's hard to blame the writers.

@@doncinati7644 As someone who is quite bad at DMC, I liked how much damage the weapons did but then you had the brain dead or frustrating enemies and horrible map design
@@ryanfarrelly4647 yeah like, it isn’t really a good action game but it still has that atmosphere and vibe from the first game, good music as well, which tbh kept me playing for some weird reason. from DMC 3 onwards yeah the gameplay was revolutionary and entered its own league, but the games were becoming less of what DMC 1 & 2 had. But thats my opinion of course
@@doncinati7644 to be honest i prefer the newer games, the mechanics just feel smoother, dmc 1 and 2 feel kinda wrong to me
i feel like i love Dante in DMC4 more than in dmc5 now his character so fucking cool
I think that is because he doesn't interact with a lot of people like he did in DMC IV, he doesn't interact with a lot of people in DMC III either
@@Jogyot3260 I think in dmc 5 he's like he get nerf, like get punch by nero and and exhaust or being delay realize about V fusion Urizen but in dmc 4 like he is fucking powerful like firing gun at the very same position, The way he mock enemy sorry for my Bad eng
@@t7.934 he had just fought urizen and vergil back to back after waking up from a month long coma and fighting cavaliere angelo, fighting through the qliphoth, fighting king cerberus and then sucker punched by a magical devil trigger arm, i think he earned some rest
Dante is basically on vacation in DMC4 and he's making the most out of it.
yeah he's just the almighty god of doing whatever the hell he wants in 4
The mock stage play part between Agnus and Dante feels almost more random when IN context.
Lmao
I mean it's the same old tropey goofball vs serious rivalry that has been immensely successful with Goku/Vegeta and Naruto/Sasuke. In the end the goofball factually demonstrates to be vastly more competent than the "serious" rival. The rival then after a string of moronic decisions and getting his ass beat a million times still belittles the other because that's their dynamic that is immutable. It's not Shakespeare but people love it so it's hard to blame the writers.
> implying DMC ever had context
Dante’s randomness is why he’s my favorite character
3:44 had to get the angles right
10:45 ok that one got me pretty good 😂
The good ending
4:08 When I first played this game my brothers and I roasted like "Who the hell is this Heihachi looking MF"🤣💀
Wait you also play tekken?
Dude, I love dmc2 so much. Its just the right amount of jank.
You're the first person I've ever seen say this
@@garconbizarrejojoisbestanimethey’re now the second, that shit is art
That insane baffoon at 0:43 cut off killed me 🤣🤣
DMC happens when theater kids gain demon powers and have to save the world
Even with context many things are questionable 😂😂
Devil may cry is insane and I love it
The thumbnail litterally killed me lmao And neros rage is justified. I laughed nonstop for a bit xD
I hate when i jaywalk and a building casually starts screaming at me
Dante and Agent 47 have one thing in common:they're strangely good at everything
9:28 Dante: What did 5 fingers say to the bird? Huh? Dante: Yeet 🤣🤣🤣
I like how the majority of these scenes make even less sense with context if they even have any at all
0:39 Joker stop traveling into other franchises.
The context for most of this is exactly what you see here: Dante is just a huge goofball
5:18 REEEEEEEEEEE!!!
I never thought I wanted to see Nero hitting Virgil with a steel chair in my entire life.
Even without context. Dante is still a lovable badass dork. Yes, I mean that.
3:51 bro what in the- I play dmc but this has got to be one of the most random ways to try and get the jump on Dante
To be fair even with context most of this still felt out of context.
Urizen contolling the quiploth lights so dante can have a quick dance session
the only context you need for most of these is "That's just Dante for ya"
1:27 Dante knows THE JECHT SHOT! XD
6:33 I like to think that the announcer here is Dantes father, Sparda.
“Terrible, Alright decent, Hell yeah”
Dmc4's play was amazing.
i love how dante went from mid-century poet stage play actor in a cathedral and was ok at it to suddenly acting as hes the best WWE fighter this world has ever seen. HE CAN EVEN SEE JOHN CENA!!
DMC is the WWE of action rpgs
I love how 2 of the clips are like, the first 5 minutes of DMC 1.
1:35 Certified football player indeed.
V and Dante's dances starting off with a "Dismal" ranking before eventually getting higher rankings while Nero gets the ranking right away is pretty funny. Also the whole impromptu stage play Dante puts on with Agnus
Well... Context wouldn't do much here anyway
Ah l love this franchise so much😆
2:16 That isn't humourous, that's one of the most badass moments in the series
"ImpOstErS"
Alongside my man Dante getting stabbed like four times through all the games and the anime but the dmc 3 devil trigger awakening WOW Mr. Danta is truly OMEGA
@@texasgaming1349 Preposterous
honestly you couldve just added every jester scene. they so goofy but also funny
DMC4 Dante whistling at the demons 💀
2:31 LOL
Yo he dislikes the red balloon so much, help him this is so funny
