  • Filipino singers don't normally use auto tune. That's a real no-no in the Philippine music industry. It could actually kill their career. This is specially true with known, great vocalists. They don't lip sync during live performances either. It's what makes filipino singers unique from most other countries.

    @jump4life563@jump4life563 Жыл бұрын
    • That's not live you know all this Daryl duos and BUDAKHEL videos are pre recorded performances they lip sinc over, there's no problem with that everyone does. Yes I know Filipino singers can sing live and they prefer that but a lot of Daryl work on YT it's pre recorded things.

    • @@viniciusjesus2867 But we are talking about the sounds they make naturally while singing into the mic. The lip-syncing is obvious if you know where and how to look so we were ignoring that as unimportant. The point is the beauty of the natural vocals. These two actually are great vocalists.

    • @@viniciusjesus2867 Yes I know his YT stuff are recorded, almost like a music video. I was just making a point that auto-tune and lip synching is frowned upon in the Philippines.

    • Any singer's career wil be affected when they revealed they use AT. But everyone uses it now. It cleans up the track and saves alot on studio cost. PLUS the mix engineer uses it in post with or without the singer knowing...

  • This duet is literal perfection both sonicly and performance wise. Morissette's voice is the absolutely most beautiful voice i have ever heard. When i first heard her for my very first time the thing that instantly popped into my mind as i was blown away and moved to tears was: This kind of voice is what the fables about sirens are refering to. Her voice is truly mesmerizing and enchanting. It has a very unique sound that doesn't sound screamy at any point of her louder registers, and her lower register also sounds warm and cozy and just all around pleasant for the ears. She has an incredible talent for making the story of a song come through with her singing, and not only to tell the story but to tell it in way that connect the meaning with emotion and make it believable. Soul if you will, giving a song soul is not easy to do. That is something that is very hard to accomplish as a singer, and it takes years of training to learn how to relax enough that you can then focus on that without needing to be present with your mind for the vocal techniques. Sort of like playing an instrument and being able to do something else while still being able to play the correct riffs/ runs/ melodies flawlessly.

  • Daryl voice is like a hug after a long day and Morisett voice is like venting almost like open conversation where you say what you wanted to say for a while…while both sang is like their voice is taking me on a healing journey with ups and down..the break was a “hold on this is gonna be fun” and we shoot off the moon in the galaxy pixel, wind blowing! As we come back to earth birds flys around me..and the ending is like their voice set me softly in to bed..and we say “it was a dream”

  • Since you are a special fan of Morissette's squeaks, check out the second song in her 2017 Asia Song Festival performance. She does an absolutely amazing squeak near the beginning of that song that I've never heard her do anywhere else, and which I've never heard anyone else do. It's hard to describe what it is, but it's incredible.

The lyrics, spirituality, and delivery are all quite moving. Gary Valenciano did a fantastic job formatting his original song to fit Morissette. It’s powerful.

  • If I remember it right, Daryl Ong went on record to say that no auto-tune was used in the recording of the song. He did say that they recorded parts of the video again and included those parts in the released video. Using auto tune, except for intentional effects, is really a no-no for professional singers. Actors and actresses are allowed to do that (though they still get become the object of jokes) but not professional singers.

  • I had only ever heard the term 'Vocal Break' for what Mori does when somebody did that while singing (until running across vocal coaches reacting to her, anyway; that's when I found a whole bunch of different terms for the same thing. 'Cry' is one, and all those you listed...). While I was growing up, it was always just compared to a teen having their voice 'crack' while they are talking excitedly. In my particular church it was looked down on as a 'bad' thing in Choir because NONE of those directors knew how to handle it or channel it. It would just automatically be enough for the kid to quit choir for a while to figure their voice out on their own and then they would rejoin the Adult Choir later. Really sad state of affairs, people not even allowed to sing when it is what they LOVED doing, or they would never have wanted to be in the choir at all. That church was so stupid on so many levels though (not just the choir), I am VERY glad we moved away from that area altogether. Of course Mori has obviously harnessed the beast with her vocal mastery and uses it for punctuation/ emphasis or for fun. It was like her signature move before she perfected her whistle tones. :)
