Yea NGL this is much better than amazing digital circus. Better dialogue, better pacing, better story, better jokes... I'm sure I could go on but anyway... The discrepancy in views and popularity between those two is nothing but absurd.

@@aoikuma2337 it absolutely deserves love. I just think it's overrated, and I see how what I said seems harsh, but I really don't mean to bash it. I like a lot of things about it, the animation is great and character designs are fun, but I don't think it's any better than the countless other animation that get a fraction of the views. And personally I just found this to be far more entertaining, idk I just get bored watching digital circus, despite the fact that I can appreciate that it is good animation. I just like this story better, I find it more unique and interesting. Just my personal opinion. No disrespect intended whatsoever!

Such a nice detail that the characters that have lived with no gravity for a while is used to it while the rest aren't.
You took the manic energy of EarthWorm Jim and placed it in a character that is actually competent. The second I saw his face and heard his voice, I got nervous that he was just going to be the annoying funny man, but no. You made him into a really fun character with a voice that fits his fits of mania.
That's exactly what I thought when I saw the thumbnail. Reminds me of a lot of Doug TenNapel's work, and that's a good thing. I love Earthworm Jim.

I *highly* reccomend watching with subtitles, especially in the first encounter with Scratch, the montauge, and in the final fight scene. 21:14 “ *Ricket crying like a BITCH* ” Is one of my favorite quotes from the episode, *and its not even said outloud*

My favorite thing about this first episode is how efficient and natural it makes a lot of the exposition. A quick line or two between a pair of characters and you INSTANTLY get where they stand with each other. The entire Scratch scene is probably the best example of this. You could probably take that scene out of context and show it to someone and it'd stand on it's own as a self contained short.

First encounter
One thing I hadn't quite noticed before is how Beebs seems to genuinely be having a good time during the first encounter with Ricket and the gang, even teasing them a bit at the end. Which ends up following on the second encounter. Despite looking like the "gentle giant" character, he's actually a bit more complex than he let's on, he enjoys the action just as much- he's just a biiit more responsible than Shrike. I love the way the *characterization* of the characters is presented in subtle ways like that!
And the fact he's a bit more concerned with the merc company than Shrike. While cashing in on the bounty would net them a lot of money, breaking contract would definitely not help them move up on the board.
@@Oni_Manga_Land Its true! and I like how you can either take that as him "not breaking contract because it goes against what he belives in" and "not breaking contract for the sake of keeping a good reputation for the job", it might as well be both for him. I love Beebs as a character. He's kind and sweet, but he can also put up a fight! And he's capable of looking at the bigger picture when Shrike can't.

and it doesn't rely on sex jokes either like Helluva Boss, I mean, I love that show but it can be a little much, especially during scenes that are supposed to be more serious.

That's why I kinda prefer this over Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel. The animation is just better, the writing is funny (and it doesn't rely too much on swearing), and the lore feels deep despite not there not being much revealed yet.

God the animation is just amazing, the smears, the expressions, it's just oozes late 90s early 2000s fun.
I like how Shrike's threat rating is only a 5 out of a max of 10 but when push comes to shove he proves to be incredibly capable. With quick thinking he basically had Kara cornered. If he was only able to keep his mouth shut he would have had her and he'd have been able to sequester Nobert back to his terminal.
That's why he's a 5 out of 10. His whole knucklehead persona severely holds him back.

Give Monkey Wrench credit: they accepted a dangerous contract for a fraction of the worth of the bounty, then proceeded to succeed on the assignment despite being assaulted by numerous hunters, to only be denied signage when an ELITE ASSASSIN interferes... and even then, only barely!
I'm willing to bet that Shrike is BEYOND mad at himself for letting himself get distracted and costing him and Beebs the bounty.
It's just nice to see an indie cartoon where the characters actually like each other and aren't swearing every two seconds :P
It's not even a competition, this is EASILY the best indie animated series I have seen. Beats out all the others by MILES
I just noticed on rewatch how through out 20:36 till 21:05 if you pay attention to shrike's guns, you can see the bar go down showing hes running out of ammo, nice detail Edit: even at 22:16

Note that @17:11 the poster shows an example of a (executed) Terran male and female and it says to execute the species on site!!! VERY IMPORTANT!! Also, on caras Device she pulls up the crate that shrike and bulldog get from the law in episode two end it says Target: secondary Green location, unknown. She also pulls up, shrike and bulldog as a secondary target as she’s looking at the primary target, which is Nobert Potoo. @17:11 it’s very important to notice the sign behind bulldog, see the green part of the solar system?
This new audio just made me realise how ABSOLUTELY VITAL it can be at times. The scene where they’re all fighting feels so much more jumpy and faster by simply making the laser gun sounds louder, it’s amazing!

what i love about this show much more than helluva boss is the fact it nails both character and story plot without needing to be overly profane while keeping a steady and consistent pace, not make 100+ antagonists and dump them the next episode never to be seen again.

It really (Redacted) me off that I didn't get notified of this series. This one episode was such a good time and fun to watch with the humor, the characters, and the world it's building. Tomorrow I am gonna watch the other 2 episodes. I really hope more people check this out cause this is genuinely good and brings me such joy to watch.

I know betraying the guy who hired you is an easy way to nuke your career as a mercenary, but shoutout to Beebs for turning down a bounty worth roughly 10000% of what he was getting paid just to uphold a crazy bird-man's contract. SPOILERS: Even though they technically failed, I really hope that kinda integrity helped their reputation.
Fun Fact: the coordinates Nobert gives in the beginning are the irl coordinates for Area 51
Looking forward to seeing this new channel grow. Im digging the balanced audio too. I WILL miss seeing Saberspark's "This is too good for the likes of KZhead" comment though 😅.
Heres some stuff in this episode I found to be worth noting for theory craffting or generally interesting and I plan to do this for each episode. Please support the creators! So to start of heres what the secondary target profiles told us about our protagonists Shrike Sanchez Height: 6'3" / 192cm Weight: 125lbs / 57kg Age: Unknown Species: Unknown Threat rating: 5/10 Notes: Target heavily favours long range combat. Useless in close range combat. Take out first to have an easier time taking down the much larger threat Bulldog. Bulldog Browns Height: 8'12" / 272cm Weight: 800lbs / 362kg Age: 32 galactic years Species: Walrinian Threat rating: 9/10 Notes: Target heavily favours close range combat. Take out Sanchez first to have an easier time taking down this massive opponent. The pictures are also interesting as they help show off their personalities Shrike's is in the moment and goofy, showing his incompetence and love of pizza. Whoever made his description didn't care too much or Shrike is surprisingly under the radar, but I think it's the first. There's slightly more detail about Bulldog and it treats him as a genuine threat. His picture helps to show him as a gentle gaint with his soft exertion and posing, making the photographer look small. Someone called 'Primary Red' is mentioned in the news on the scrolling text with a statement about how they hope there won't be another disater when the league of aligned worlds is mentioned, leading me believing their connected. Just before Bulldog shuts off the news we see a large bounty was issued by the Potoo empire, presumably the one everyone was after. A white circle, presumably the 'Ghost egg', is orbiting the planet and its moon based on a drawing seen the background they were speaking to Nobert Tyreens blind minions seem extremely sturdy. Scratch might be the 'Precious sardine' bounty hunters we can see on the ranking list
It's unbealivable how underrated this show is, I've been watching the two episodes that'd been uploaded over and over again for like 3 months now and everything just keeps fascinating me, sadly I don't have much money to support the series as much as I'd like to, but I just hope we can watch this project grow and become what it deserves to. Thanks to the creators for making this unforgettable piece of media.

I came from Just Stop’s video and I'm so glad I did. This first episode was hilarious, fun, and action-packed. This was an amazing experience and KZhead should recommend it to more people who love the animation sphere

Every time I watch this episode, I notice more small details that didn't need to be added. On this watch through of this episode, I only now saw that the remote Beebs used to turn off the TV magnetizes to the dashboard to prevent itself from floating away, due to them not having A.G. (Artificial Gravity).
This should get picked up by adult swim it's too good to not have more episodes
This was an awesome episode and Kara is now my favorite cat assassin, I hope we see more of her.
So many extra things, background jokes, and lore that I didn’t even catch the first time. This show is even better once you catch all the world building going on literally all the time.
