From Blumhouse, the genre-defining masterminds behind FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S and M3GAN, comes an original horror that taps into the innocence of imaginary friends - and begs the question: Are they really figments of childhood imagination or is something more terrifying lying just beneath?
When Jessica (DeWanda Wise) moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter Alice (Pyper Braun) develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that begin playful and become increasingly sinister.
As Alice’s behavior becomes more and more concerning, Jessica intervenes only to realize Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed him to be.
Lionsgate and Blumhouse present, a Tower of Babble production.
Not at all what I expected for Ted 3 but I'm ready

Ted's already getting a TV series on Peacock.

It’s an extremely worn out concept. Even the FNAF movie did it😂
@@user-x7dc2pq7n wat really?! (despite the animatronics kill people in the beginning of the movie and the heist at the pizzeria scene)

@@TrollingScientology I know, right?? Also, everything happens at night for some damn reason. Like...bro, just move out 😂 I want a horror movie that has stuff happen during the day as well and make me feel that no matter the time, no matter where the protagonist is or what they do, they are always...constantly in danger.
Really like the maybe we shouldn't be friends line delivery felt real/genuine
That Little girl had the best acting in that whole ass movie😫
Can we talk about the song “Just my Imagination” by the legendary Temptations. Love how movies/trailers sample classic throwbacks
They copied Jordan peele wit that
Thank you so much I love the song and no one else is mentioning it
@@RobOnTheLensdefinitely!! I was expecting to see his name somewhere this is 100% his calling card
You know what's funny? I was just thinking about this song when I first looked at the name of this movie, and before I checked this trailer out.
Is this a particular version of the song, or have they just made it creepier for the trailer?
I recall this being a Creepy Pasta where the imaginary friend kept asking the little girl to do things that were becoming increasingly dangerous, and at one point she refused. I think the last thing he wanted her to do was jump off the top of her stairs, but she refused and wanted nothing more to do with the imaginary friend. The thing is, it promised her that it would take her to where it came from and she still refused. Then, the parents tell her that they're moving, and as the were driving away with the mover truck, she looked back at her bedroom window and she saw this fucking demon, this grown ass man looking demon just wave at her from her bedroom window. The girl eventually grew up and many years later she explored the area and discovered that the place that the "imaginary friend" wanted to take her to was a graveyard. I think that's where they got the idea for this movie, or maybe it an adaptation of that.
That sounds like Mr Widemouth. But in that story it wanted the child to jump out of the window and it looked like a furby.
I remember that creepy pasta... it was a good one lol.
That sounds awesome. I hope this movie is as scary! 🐻💀
Great description 😂
@@candypietravels thanks 😊
Seeing "five nights at freddys" randomly pop up on the screen in a random ass trailer is funny to me
How did it randomly pop up? It said the producers of and then multiple movies in five nights at Freddy was one of them.....
I watched this and proceeded to look at my net of stuffed animals and say "I love all of you please don't kill me"
I did the same. Especially considering I woke up the other morning to one that had fallen off in my sleep.😳
You will be fine. Just don't abandon them. If you later must separate from them for any reason just uh... transfer guardianship or ownership or something. And it better be Toy Story vibe than whatever this horror is lol. If you believe they have their own souls then treat them as living things. If they are just toys, then so be it.

There were some terrifying scenes! I loved most of the cast. But I thought the girl who played Alice should have been a few years younger.
Blumhouse really putting all their stocks into horror movies about relatively innocent things. M3GAN is a horror film about a evil AI toy, FNaF is based on a game about possessed Chuck E Cheese, and now Imaginary with imaginary friends. I’m fucking here for it man, this is awesome!
What if Blumhouse made horror movies out of Creepypasta characters like Jeff the Killer?
Tbh. The black phone is also made by them but it’s not that much like fnaf or m3gan or imaginary but it’s a horror tho
Didja see BH's Black Phone? Their recent films these past few years have been great. They find awesome-but- unknown actors who, pardon the pun, kill it. Especially the kids. So much talent in their films.

I remember, in the early 2010s, that somebody was talking on an IMDb message board, that there should be a movie like this. And I remember commenting that BlumHouse would probably produce it. Talk about a prophecy come true. 😂
I bet someone that was on that same message board was CLEARLY paying attention. 😉
The concept is similar to the Mr. Widemouth creepypasta popular at that time.
Miss the IMDb message boards so much.

Ok, Chauncey's monstrous form is legit terrifying. I know the director wrote and directed some of Blumhouse's worst films in recent memory (Truth or Dare and Fantasy Island), but this has a lot of potential to be really imaginative and very creepy. I'm definitely keeping my eye out for this one.
This is why people keep getting tricked into watching bad movies. Optimism is eternal.
Imaginative? This looks like one of the most basic and derivative films in recent memory. The director hasn’t put out a good film period..I do not see that changing here. He’s had 20 years in the business..that’s more than enough time to prove yourself and he hasn’t. Pass…
@@TheBrownLamb how is it derivative. So many slasher movies come out and it’s fine but no one has made a movie on imaginary friends becoming vengeful before and you act like it’s not a new idea. Just say you don’t like the director instead of criticizing the only solid idea we have of what the movie will be like

I'm interested but the bear jump scare at the end used crappy cgi so I wouldn't get my hopes up.
It's the director of Truth or Dare and Fantasy Island.

Im intrigued. I think this movie has some great potential especially since it's the same producer behind the invisible man and black phone. I like the idea with what they are doing with imaginary friends a lot of times they are usually demons or ghosts but here they seem to be their own sort if beings so I'm interested to see what they do with this idea.

I'm totally down for this movie! It honestly looks pretty intense, haunting, and reminds me just a tiny bit of the movie Hide and Seek (which I don't know how many people even remember that) but wow. I've been accused of giving a movie a free pass just for having a high concept premise or having an actor I really like in it--this one is definitely gonna be pretty high on my watchlist. Fingers crossed it's 'The Gift' Blumhouse and not 'Unfriended' Blumhouse.
The teddy bear looks cute, even if it's scary.

Chauncey is gonna be an icon I can already tell.
Although we can tell the bear is pretty much moving through animatronics, its done well enough to look scary/real. Like "that's how a horror themed doll would move". It's amusing how it was moving through the floor in 2:10. We all know how that was done in production.

Man that new Foster's Home remake looks sick Jokes aside, that sounds like it could be a perfect film edit: it's not
Looks like Alice is the reason Chauncey became a physical threat. It looks like the list of “games” he had her do were more like ways to summon her, and he needed the blood of an innocent person to complete said ritual. I could be wrong but this seems very familiar.
I love how this kind of uses the idea of Tulpas, also looks terrifying

Okay! I have to share a story!! I had an imaginary friend for many years, I would say things like "you can't sit there, it's Tommy's spot" I talked to him, played with him etc. Fast forward to 6th grade, my sister and I were fist fighting, and pieces of the popcorn ceiling fell between us. Like A LOT of it. We didn't think too much of it, but a few months later we were fighting again and the kitchen cabinets flung open, fast. We stopped immediately. I would get into fights at school and feel SO much anger! I didn't understand it because I was typically a calm person. Fast forward 10 years I'm about 20 yrs old and start going to church, a lady approached me and said she had a feeling I was being influenced by a demon, and I've allowed it because It keeps me safe. She had me come to her house for an exorcism, and oh my gosh!! I was ANGRY, I was spitting at her, I told her I wanted to punch her, like it was BAD. then she says, "I demand you tell me your name!" My voice got so deep it sounded like a man and I said "Tommy!" I was SO angry by now, I told her that I wanted to attack her, so her husband and son put their hands on my shoulders and held my arms gently. The chandelier over her table started to swing and I laughed so wicked! But then her husband, son and her started praying in the spirit demanding that the demon let go of me in Jesus name! I started coughing and yawning and felt sick. I felt this overpowering need to sneeze HARD. I did, and then I became overwhelmed with peace and joy and happiness. After that day I never got into a fist fight again, I never felt the urge to attack or physically harm anyone again. I was free and delivered. Long story short, do not let your children have imaginary friends!
2:18 nope nooo that’s it for me imma head out🙃

Turns out there are getting messages from an Alien intelligence to build a machine to teleport aliens into our world.
