Such an incredible aircraft and engineering marvel. For the role it plays, it’s tough to beat the pure fear inducing capability and raw destruction. Can’t believe the Air Force wanted to get rid of it.
The USAF wants to get rid of it because it is a liability, not an asset.
With a squadron of these and proper training, Ukraine can hold off a Soviet advance on their own.
@@Inspadave Oh please, do tell.
@@Inspadave Says the guy who's never been on the ground taking fire when this thing rolls in and unleashes hate...
This has been my favorite plane for practically my whole life and I'm approaching 50! My dad spent 24 years in the AF/ANG and I would stop everything and watch, touch whatever I could any A-10 I ever came across. Great tour around an amazing machine. Thanks Aldo and Steveo!
Loved watching this plane take off from Myrtle Beach air force base when I was a kid. My dad (Col Dana Cromack) was the base commander then wing commander in the late 70's overseeing the first deployment of the A10. A huge advancement over the A7.
Keith, I grew up in Conway out behind Lake Busbee and would sit outside for hours watching the 354th fly over all day in the late 70's and early 80's. I tell people that A-10's were my alarm clock as a kid.
Watching A10s was my favorite part of going to Myrtle Beach back in the day. Now I have to settle for F18s at Va. Beach.
Long Live the A-10. Such an amazing piece of engineering. For years they trained over the farmland of Eastern Washington. Nothing sounds like an A-10...🔥🔥🔥🔥
In 2019 you got me convinced I wasn't too old to fly, last week I interviewed with your old company out of FXE. Thanks Steve, your encouragement actually got me flying. Now at 500hrs, still trying to get that first job.
That thing is a beast!! Love the sound of that chainsaw ... pure music.
I remember a couple different Red Flag's I did at Nellis AFB pulling Dragons full of 30mm out to the flight line for A-10's while hung over. I loved it when they'd leave the main battery disconnect enabled so I could fire up the Oxygen. Suck on that hose and clear your head real damn fast. That climb up to the cockpit is hell in the we hours of the morning to get an O2 fix on an A-10 though. Had a crew chief show me that trick on an F-4G many years prior to that. Funny related story, I fell asleep sitting in the cockpit of an F-16 at Mtn Home AFB waiting for the weapons loaders to show up. Crew chief was a friend of mine and showed up on the flight line early. He was like "dood really? I just topped off the LOX bottles man. Give me the hose." he was hung over too LOL!!
As a grunt in Afghanistan, one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard was "Red Devil flight of 2 A10s checking in.... we have x MK82s and 3000 rounds of 30mm for the section" on the radio.
Always loved this plane and then after watching the interview with Kim Campbell when the war first broke and seeing how much damage that thing could take while still being able to fly earned my respect to the engineers and pilots of it.
122nd is local to me here in Fort Wayne. Love that commemorative paint scheme.
Even though I worked on F-16's the A-10 is still my favorite. Nothing like seeing something disappear and then hearing BRAAAAPPPP.
Here in Maryland we're incredibly fortunate to have this beast in one of our Air Guard units with the 104th FS. I'll admit standing next to the Hog is a little intimidating but it's quite friendly! ❤️ 🇺🇸
I worked on building the first simulators for the A-10. They weren't motion based but rather had seat cushions that would inflate/deflate and harnesses that would tighten to simulate G loading. One audible trait that the seat cushions had was what we called the "whoopie cushion" effect because that's what they sounded like when they worked.
My favorite Military plane too. Great meeting you at Oshkosh Steveo.
Son was 82nd Airborne in Iraq and Afghanistan. The ‘Hog was/is the ground soldier’s best friend. While the generals sit on their arses wanting flashier new planes, the ‘Hog keeps on keeping on!
As a Government Contractor imbedded with SOCOM in Shindand Afghanistan, The A-10 is a Beast! We had a bombing range in the AO and I would hear them coming in the middle of the night and wake up ready to go, but after a while, one learns the sound and the Burps of the gun in full effect!! Amazing Machine!
Love me some Hawg. Always a great day when they dropped by for some fuel. I always made a point to get pics of the door art so I could keep track of which ones had been through.
One of my favorites too. I love the A-10, F-16, F-15, and F-22. The A-10 is incredible in its capabilities and so supportive for troops on the ground. Thanks for the video!
Great interview! I live in Ft. Wayne IN so I’m fortunate enough to see the A-10s flying over all the time. The looks and the sound is incredible!
Same. I’m a couple miles from the airport. Go Blacksnakes!
That eyepiece is a marvelous piece of engineering!
My favorite aircraft as well. We had them providing air support for us during the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
This thing is a "classic ".. and lethal too.. Its armourments and agility make it second to none ..turns on a sixpence.. that and the apache make formidable bits of kit.. Very distinctive engine drown.. So if you have been up to no good and they send one of these after you.. ADIOS AMIGO..! ✌️💯🇬🇧
Just like DCS World. I know every switch in that plane because of that sim. Very cool. And I have the warthog stick and throttle from thrustmaster. My favorite plane. Thanks for the video.
I love watching the Grim Reapers play DCS.
Beautiful ship! Love their engine sound on a fly-by, too!
A great show and tell of an awesome fighting machine. BTW the rc model A10’s have reverse thrust so you can stop before you run out of runaway. Safe travels.
Thanks for the tour and most of all thanks for your service!
You're really gettin' in good with the military now, steveo! Love it! Love the steam gauges, too!
I am in love with that flying beauty.
I certainly wasn't expecting this! Love it!
this is my fav plane in DCS ! learning all the systems and becoming somewhat efficient in flying this beast gives a HUUUGE amount of satisfaction even in the virtual world. Great seeing inside the real thing and seeing how accurate the sim is, thanks for the vid !! BRRRRRRRRRRRt ! 😁
One of my favorite military planes!!
Man, we need it it so much:( 20-40 planes.. Best regards from Ukraine!! Thank you, people of the US for your support!!
Thank you for the tour!!
I was stationed at RAF Bentwaters, A10 from 86 -90. Munitions guy. AMMO!! worked in S&H and the missile shop. Awesome memories.
I was starioned at DMAFB and did sheetmetal on A10s. O was also in the aircraft paint shop for 3 years as the 2nd shift paint supervisor and painted 15 a10s while i was there. Including the 355 MS demo team jets. I miss the sounds of the a10
Steveo, I'm not sure if you've ever tried DCS World, but if you love the A-10C, you will LOVE flying this thing, especially in VR. I'm currently using the Varjo Aero. Thrustmaster HOTAS, Rudder pedals and a few other peripherals that complete my home pit. What a blast! VR is the way to go. This is as close as we civilians can get to experiencing what it's like. Real world GA private pilot who's childhood dream was to become a fighter pilot. Love the video and talk you had with Aldo.
I just did aerial refueling with the KC-135 in VR. Popping in and out of clouds, while the tanker was in a right bank turn in his racetrack pattern. After successfully topping off, I sent my wingman to the tanker via voice command (no keyboard or mouse juggling). I step to the starboard observation position and watch him close in and make contact, refueling. What a freakin blast in VR! This is incredibly rewarding to be able to experience in a home PC sim. WOW! 🙂
G,day Stevo from Sydney Australia. Thankyou for the fantastic uplifting short film on the A-10 "A very capable aircraft" for many scenarios. 🇦🇺🌏
What a beautiful aircraft!!😎🤘🏽🤘🏽
Hey SteveO. Another smashing video. And on top, about the best "winged combat tank" in the world. Cool. Happy landings from Portugal.
Thank you, I enjoy your videos.
Just saw a bunch of them in Salina Ks doing an exercise. What a great airplane.
Thanks for the videos man. Every since I have watch your videos I have lost my fear of flying at all levels. I love sitting by the window and watching the beauty of our world!
A-10 Badass Weapon! thanks Steveo and Aldo!
Great job. Thank you!
The first time I saw the A-10, I was going into a coffee shop in Nashua New Hampshire and two black A-10's flew over. I would not learn what they were for probably 20 years or more. One of my favorites for sure!
Thank you!
Great video Steveo. I loved the closing music. Nice choice. 🙂
The Warthog is my favorite plane too. So glad the AF decided not to stop using it. Great ground support plane.
Absolutely awesome
Love the A-10
next time here !!!!! Patagonia is a wild place for flying !!!
I build the forward and aft fuel tanks for this beautiful bird.
Totally awesome! Thank you Stevo! Grazi mille Aldo! A10 my favourite warplane as well. So deserving of it's "flying tank" accolades! Well done boys!
The A10 is awesome!
Very cool inside view of the A-10
Love the 122nd!!! Go Snakes!!! 🐍
Next year I have to be there. I know the A-10, saw them at Holloman, plus we had missions at WSMR. I loved (love!) those planes also. Our enemies do not.
One of my favorite planes
One of favorite planes. They often fly near my house. Know their engine sound well.
Excellent video and an excellent plane. One feature that I really like is that it has "split ailerons" (spoilers?) that allow the plane to slow down faster than some other planes.
When I got to my PCS in 1977, at Langley AFB in Hampton Rhodes, VA, they had a demonstration of the A10 and the F16. What that A10 did as far as turn and burn INSIDE the perimeter of the base was freakin' amazing. Those damned things literally WILL turn on a dime.
Cool, have flown it in DCS+VR. Pretty awesome experience throwing AGM65's at the enemy, then finish them off with the gatling going *BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRPPPP*. Tried some CCIP/CCIR bombing as well, but i sucked at that.
Some years ago I was driving along a mountainside road, next to a valley, here in the UK and heard a screaming engine noise. I looked to my left and saw a Warthog flying parallel in the valley, at the same height, and the pilot actually waved at me! It was so surreal. Awesome video Steveo!
My favorite since I was a kid and never got to see them at the air shows I’ve been to.
Was a great Airventure year!
My all time favorite
Great you guys know alot of stuff!
Great video Steve
That is my favorite for sure!,!,
Would have loved to fly the A10...... Great video.
Thanks
Another awesome and informative video.
In a word.... Brrrrrrrrttttttttt..... Great video.
How could you not like a plane built around a gun....A-10 is my favorite!!!!
Hello Stevo... I hope and pray for You and for Your love ones that God keep You safe as well as those that.live on áreas suffering the greatest damaged may God keep You together and stronger
A-10 warthog is my favorite Plane of all times ❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
THAT was pretty cool!
I love that plane
I used to watch A-10s strafe a small uninhabited island off Martha's Vineyard back in the 80's. When the Avenger fired you could feel it in your chest!
My fav since I was a kid!
One badass aircraft! You can always tell A10 is overhead just by the whistle of the engines! And, Brrrt, Brrrt, Brrt from the cannon! 23rd FG Flying Tigers! 🇺🇸💪🏼
Watched an A-10 at a small airshow 20(?) years ago. Sorry the show is gone, full ramp access except during active air ops. Good old days. What got me was the square turns, hard to believe so tight for such a heavy beast. There is an intangible psychological factor for an enemy, looking at it, the name Warthog is about right.
Awesome video
Love the Warthog !
As a retired military man... thank you for this video!!!
Love from DeKalb Mississippi USA 🇺🇸
Love love
Love the A-10 and the fact that the Air Force came to its senses and didn't cancel it. The best air-to-mud/CAS platform around for sure. Oh, and somewhere Robin Olds approves of that mustache!
The USAF did not come to its senses. The A-10 remains because of politicians telling the military what they need.
Awesome video, and Aldo seems like a cool guy!
Hey Aldo! - Epic stache!
Insane.
Awesome!
This plane saved me a my team in afghan. I always shake their hands a shows. AATW
So nice...
I love how gun ho he is, but so humble and awesome at the same time! Boom!
Dam, I definitely have a new respect and appreciation for the A-10! I wish they could figure out a way for the A10 to shoot live rounds at airshows. Spectators would love that!!
A-10 Simply the Best
Steve. A10 is my Favorite Jet . They fly over My House in Ohio. Also one Day at our RC Flying Field a Guy Was Flying his very Large 3D Airplane and Two A10 flew Over and the RC Pilot bought his Airplane down very Fast. It was Cool. I fly F5J glider
Love me some warthog !!
To know the A-10 is to love the A-10.
