My nephew used to play these war games before he went into the army and experienced combat firsthand. After he returned from Iraq 🇮🇶 he never played anymore games. He was extremely lucky that he came back in one piece although he has PTSD from his time spent in that warzone.
The "real thing" is a lot different because at the end you either experience the tragedy or look over the dead bodies. EXACTLY WHY I feel these computer games should be banned forever !
@@richardburtonjr1889 I say BS. As a 19K in Desert Storm I never killed anyone I felt didn't need it. In Somalia It was even easier. Volunteered for 3 deployments even when Clinton pulled out the Armor. No clue what the PTSD is all about. My family fought through the Dominican, Belleau Wood, Pacific, Korea, and Vietnam and they all said the same thing to me. As long as your killing people who really deserve it you should sleep like a baby. Issues today are the kids have never been raised with adversity like the WW 2 and Korea generations and don't have those people to fall back on. I sent my sons to Afghanistan and explained to them what my grandfather, uncles and father told me. You can kill people for the right reason. I.E. it makes the world better. And you do it without emotion. Do it and know your doing gods work and come home with a clear mind. You kill to save your buddies from the worst of humanity on the planet. Country and apple pie come second. We need to stop raising kids as pussies and as men. This country was not founded on weakness but men who persevered through the worst at Valley Forge and Breeds Hill. Shiloh and Antietam. The Argonne, Guadalcanal, Omaha Beach, Chosin, Dak To, Khe Sahn. Volunteer military. If your not up to the task then don't go. If you do go stop complaining about it. You got what you asked for. Combat is not for the faint of character. There is a reason why we are part of that select club of men.

It was 1990 and I wanted to go to the original Desert Storm. My Sis, Mom and Dad, being selfish, not wanting me to die literally did anything within their power to stop me. I am still, after over 30 years, so pissed off I let them stop me. Its my only regret in my life. Had 4 friends who went. All came home. I would have too. Because I'm a badass 💪. With any battle you have to know you are gonna win before the fight. I've never doubted victory and have never lost any fight (wife not included) to anyone. And I am only 165 lbs 5ft 10inch tall. Actually beat the shit out of every opponent. Rarely a bump or bruise on me. Sorry to ramble, just feel I would have done well and should have helped. Damn It bums me out. Sir Also, THANK YOU SO DAMN MUCH FOR WHAT YOU AND YOURS HAVE DONE. The pain and death your family has saved from others says it all. And reducing the rodent and pest count helps too. Seriously Thank you from my family. YOU ROCK!

@@chrisrichard2526 I agree. Especially about the ptsd. It takes a certain character, or frame of mind to handle that stuff. Not to say the ones that do handle it aren't caring or have no empathy. But if it's a you or them scenario, then from my point of view, it is easy to make sure it isn't you and deal with it, without it leaving a mark on your mental state. I've seen this in extreme danger scenarios where an action one way or another dictates what happens and I've seen how others around me reacted, with some practically throwing their arms in the air type reaction from one person and an instinctual 'let's do this' attitude from the ones that can handle it. I call it mental fortitude! Not everyone has it. Regarding the military. It is quite obvious to me that a large percentage of the population are just not fit for it with regards to their 'mental fortitude' but they are recruited anyway. I wouldn't want them types watching my back!
We have many frighning weapons in the US inventory, but the AC-130 gunship is the one I wouldn't want to face.

In the real world, there is a several second time delay between the guns firing and the bullets striking the target. Over Laos in the AC-130A, in 1970, it was seven seconds.

Although the technology of the time didn't provide for footage such as this, I'm reminded of the damage done by the AC-119 Shadow's and Stinger's out of Tan Son Nhut AB and Phan Rang AB in the early 70's.

I love the destruction the warthog is capable of and when I watch the videos of any type such as this I use to never read the full description. That being said I was amazed to see that Arma3 was a game being as realistic as they are.
this is destruction from an AC-130 gunship ( a converted C-130 Hercules ) -- not an A10 "Warthog" .. 25mm gatling gun, 40mm and 105mm cannons
Either way this game is awesome. The realism seems close enough to realistic enough to enjoy and appreciate the military’s arsenal and see the destruction it’s capable of.

Hi i flew gunships in Vietnam darn noisy ,, always when firing reminded me of a,,, A10 ground hog this video is a little strange???? i transferred to Search--- Find ---Recover with a unit field hospital ,,,, recovering wounded guys outta a battlefield situ,,,,,, until my copter got hit then i ended up in a V.A hospital,,,,,,, Edwin J Thompson ,,,,,,,,, Ed

I was so stoned that I did not realize that this was not real until I saw the little guys fall when they got shot instead of body parts flying everywhere and some of them just exploding into a million fragments. Great friggin graphics tho. I was like damn that some good loud.

Modern weaponry should convince anyone thinking of driving armoured vehicles in an army is not a good idea. Armoured vehicles give a sense of fake protection these days

Everybody gets overwatch, this is multi-domain, combined arms modern warfare.
Modern weaponry could convince anyone of anything, imagine if the guys on the ground have a nice SAM battery and your plane is useless
Only if the enemy has air superiority.
They are great targets though. Life expectancy for a massive Abrahms tank is minutes. A child with an RPG can disable one. Like battleships they are obsolete. Gunships are more helpless than what they shoot at against any fighter and used only against third-world victims determined to be defenseless. The delicate Stealth bombers are similar. Not designed for actual wars, they are subsonic and like B52s hardly faster than a commercial 747. They can be knocked out by runway debris thrown up by their own tires; since little Serbia destroyed two with ancient AA they are only deployed where nobody can shoot back like the 60 year old AC130

Look as teh Fire Control Sysytem is needed to be calibrated, I worked on Fire Control system on AC119K, It was a lower version of the AC130G. We suppose to come to the US in 1975 for training on this system on AC130, but of course the fall of South Vietnam.😥

Dumb targeting choices. Take lead vehicles out first, blocking forward movement by following ones, then block rearward moment by doing the same to trailing vehicles. Then everything in between can be dealt with without worrying about any getting away

Yes, it’s sadly true life anyway so this Vietnam War was bad nightmares for all my lifetime fought for this war got shits only. I was too young man to fight for this Vietnam War when Americans didn’t finish their duties in Vietnam, I was on the running in the jungles 4 years of having no food . I ate roots and leaves for survival in my life until 1978 to be escaped from the dead hole in Americans didn’t finish their work.
Now in the Ucranian war, the youth, gave the militar comand to many helpe with their knowledge in video games
