  • Nastia has said that she knows her dismounts were often quite wild. She struggled with stamina and was exhausted by the end of her routine.

    • Yes, I think Sean was a bit favored, but Nastya pulled out the win in the Olympics. It was a great rivalry and camaraderie.

  • that 2008 routine was SO LONG, plus she works harder to hit so many good positions in the air. It must be so tiring to this

  • Nice analysis, lance! Do you know if there have been equipment changes since Nastia's time? The bars are now wider apart, however, what about the rails-are they thinner? Has the material used to make the rails changed up? Does anyone predict that the uneven bars will become just like mens high bar, only with two rails?!

    • Good questions. I will look into that. I am familiar with the changes in men’s equipment. Obviously the vault was a huge change for both men and women. The floors are spring. I’ll look into the bars. Glad you like the video video and thanks.

    • @@OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp You are most welcome. I remember my first bars were nothing more than a set of men's P bars that were set wide apart. Gymnasts often had to sit on the bases of both sides when someone was powerfully swinging a skill or set at practice. Those old wooden bars weren't even fully rounded, making it difficult at times to rotate ones wrists around them. Later on, we obtained our first set of cable bars made with fiber glass, and they were so super bouncy and rounded that we were absolutely thrilled. Spring loaded floors? Who would've thought, when we worked out on the wooden floor. Who knows where the sport is going to take us?! Can you see tumble trac 4 inches wide for a new type of beam?!

    • The material changes and positions (the bars are perpendicular to the ground but in others no) is depending on the brand. The bars are still the same since Nastia time

    • No the bars have not moved farther apart. However, gymnasts can raise the high bar higher now. Also no changes to equipment since 2008.

    • Distance between bars: 1.3 to 1.8 meters (4 feet, 3 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches). They choose the width based on the size of the gymnast normally within these parameters

    • You are incorrect and did not hear the dialogue correctly. I am talking about her handstands in general and what I say is very true. The fact that she was passing through a handstand at the time is irrelevant. Listen closely to what Isay. I’m not sure why you want to see it so falsely. Just listen to what I say and watch the video and maybe you will understand better. I was talking about her general gymnastics while she was performing her real time sequence. I also talk about the bar distance and other facts. Perception effects are experience greatly. Positivity and truth serve us all well.

    • @@OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp Maybe she had those handstands in 2005, but when she started the healy combination her handstand they were anything but good. She cheated every one and had messy feet form. Your tone talking down to her is funny though, Mansplaining.
