Nastia Liukin, the 2008 All-Around Olympic Champion, is often regarded as one of the best uneven bar workers in US history. Her Layout Gienger was absolutely gorgeous.

She should have SHARED the olympic gold medal with He Kexin! They tied exactly on difficulty and execution! Kexin's routine was stunning, but Nastia's was also unreal. They both should have been awarded the gold medal
Agreed. Tie-breaker is so stupid, just give these incredible athletes their well-deserved medals. It’s even worse when it’s been bronze & 4th place
The thing is Nastia’s bars had SO many built in deductions that she should’ve scored significantly lower than He
@@colesmith7509 Agreed. She was stunning while rising up to, descending from, and while in handstand, but had so many glaring deductions whenever she was below horizontal. Significant knee bend, leg separation and flexed feet on all of her forward swinging elements. Over-arched Pak salto and suspect Tkachev as well. Yet still, she was a beautiful gymnast to watch and is certainly missed.
@@colesmith7509 at the time you gotta think we aren’t as critical as we are now!
@@gymnasticsmasterclass can you do the best USA bar workers video. I expect to see Gabrielle and Amy Chow for sure
The way she kept her toes pointed and her legs straight! Flawless!
Nastia Liukin is an great work on Uneven Bars.
I spotted a small mistake: one-armed pirouettes and not one-armed giants
and LOTS of form issues they ignored. Rewatch her feet. There is even an angle somewhere on twitter that shows her feet come apart on her ginger. The judges cheated for her
@@gymstyle5091eh. The fact you have to insist rewatches and convince that somewhere out there a photo exists to prove your point should really just tell you that they’re not obvious, and actually just support how they could be easily missed
Beth Tweddle was my favourite bars worker. Loved the power and combinations she brought to the routine.
Let me be THAT person to correct the mistakes in this video. Those aren’t one-armed giants. They’re pirouettes. Thank you for coming to my TED talk. 🙃
She literally makes it look effortless
Liukin has a beautiful physique for gymnastics in general. Her legs and arms look like they came off a Barbie. I loved watching her on bars! The lines she makes are so so lovely
He forgot the Stick It medal. Lol
RIGHT LOL
She is my all time favorite! See her performing, back in the day, not only on UV, makes these current gymnasts look like a bunch of amateurs. She has the ellegance and artistry that we don't see anymore out there
She isn't artistic.
@@gymstyle5091 havent you seen her on fx?????
@@gymstyle5091 you have no taste
@@kiersontitus7322 You clearly have no clue what form is or artistry.
@@gymstyle5091 yes I do, nastia clearly has it. You have no sense of seeing artistry and not you thinking Beth should have been ahead, her form is awful compared to Nastia’s
A timeless gymnast for sure
I miss all the E grip pirouettes
Maybe you should do a video on Cha Yong-Hwa's 2009 bar routine, in particular her incredible Def
I agree... Never seen a Ginger so high! 😍 she is absolutely outstanding
It's a shame that the narrator didn't mention her all around gold at the Olympics. I feel she was shortchanged in the narration. Her bar work was a good portion of that win.
what do you mean? he said “the olympic champion” at the end

Aliya Mustafina, Suni Lee, Nastia Liukin. I WOULD say I taught her everything I know, BUT on the other hand, would like to know my chances of her teaching me why I can't straddle press. I'm guessing somewhere near negative 500%...
Those constantly pointed toes are it for me.
You’re not saying her last night right.
Not so great dismount is a very nice way to put it. It was awful.

Watch marony's
Nastia was good yet I still think Suni ate her up on the UB.
Valeri would have adapted Nastia's routine to that COP to get the difficulty. It is hard to compare between different quads.
I don't think these two are comparable. There's literally nothing in common in their skillset, form or style.
@@fnacci5701how did valeri do with Andrade and now Konnor. He’s a trash coach.
You can’t compare them at all. They’re styles are completely different.
Hmm. I prefer Suni's style more to be honest, but Nastia's routine would still be highly valued today. If we're being honest, Suni probably didn't deserve the Bronze in Tokyo's Bars EF, but judges were impressed with her really clean form despite so many errors as were NCAA Judges. I think it's safe to say that Nastia could never pull off a Nabieva, and probably Suni couldn't do Nastia's routine like Nastia does. It's also safe to say that if both were in their prime, Team USA would likely both have them on the World/Olympic team to do bars... Not sure why we need to put down either, especially when they're so very different
