  • They should've chosen her AA or EF routine instead of TF because she scored higher in both those competitions. Also, she stepped out of bounds on her first path, and she never did step out of bounds after that whenever she competed in AA or EF.

  • She should really do ballet now that she has retired. Her lines and flexibility are out of this world gorgeous!

    • I agree that her lines are gorgeous, but to do ballet (professionally, at least) you have to start at a young age, just like gymnastics. It's a whole different set of skills, and the retirement age for ballet is super young, like with gymnastics.

    • @@MossyBallerina not true about the age requirement! I dance professionally in a ballet company and we have some principal dancers that are in their 40’s and some people that started later than 10. It’s all about the drive and how you treat your body.

      @jmrgtapper@jmrgtapper3 жыл бұрын
    • @@jmrgtapper I mean yeah, there are exceptions. Misty Copeland started at 13 and is now one of the best dancers in the world. And you can continue on being a professional ballet dancer into yours 40s, but if you want to be a professional ballet dancer, you have to start young. You can start ballet as an adult and have a great time with it, but you can't start ballet as an adult and go on to be a professional ballet dancer. I may not be a professional dancer myself, but I've taken ballet for more than a decade, and know numerous people who have gone on to be professional dancers.

    • @@jmrgtapper I agree with your professional assessment of age not being a factor. But I think the most basic asset is athleticism. You gotta be born with those basic body abilities. At least to do it at a professional level I think like you do.

  • This is probably the most artistic floor routine ever. The music matches the choreography perfectly. There’s no awkward pauses. It all flows beautifully.

  • Her routine had perfect form throughout the entire thing except for the double front, but I guess she would have done it like that anyways because her dad did men’s gymnastics and he also did his triple back tuck like that as well.

  • For some reasons , it looked as if Nastia stepped out of bounds on the first pass … intentionally (As we can see that she was totally awared of where she landed). Shawn did the same weird mistake during the team competition. Hmm, so that Alicia was not the only one to be blamed? 😉

    @kp395@kp3954 жыл бұрын
    • In my opinion, the Americans didn't have a chance to battle for gold with China after Alicia fell on beam. Since Alicia Sacramone fell and went out of bounds on floor, both Nastia and Shawn did the same after that. So more tenths were taken away from their team total score.

      @Gymnastics-me8hu@Gymnastics-me8hu4 жыл бұрын
    • @@Gymnastics-me8hu Yes. What I meant is , Martha slammed Alicia extremely harshly after her floor and beam routine. And since there were no ways that the US team could top the podium, for some reasons, it looked as if Nastia did that step out on purpose, so that Alicia didn't take all the blame. As you can clearly see that Nastia did not need that lunge forward after the double twist, she had stuck that already, and she stepped back immediately afterwards even without looking at her feet, as she was totally awared of where she landed.

      @kp395@kp3954 жыл бұрын
    • @@kp395 That is a possibility now that you point it out. She did not need to lunge at all, but it seems she did it just to draw attention away from other mistakes from the team.
